Someone please help!!! I was following the advice of a couple of people here on YT about how to get the ears to stand up. They said to use the eyelash glue with the manilla folder on the inside or outside of the ear. Now problem is How do you get it off????? I have tried and it is STUCK!!!! What can I do??? They said it comes off easy, but NOT ON HER!!! Maybe I am not leaving it on there long enough. It has been on there since Monday. |
Oh gosh, that sounds bad. Try Shout (the laundry stuff) or Skin So Soft from Avon. |
maybe you can try some eyelash glue remover. |
Wow...what a predicament. Find out who posted that and send them a PM. Let us know what they say. |
I tried that and my other dogs just pulled them off. I would try dampening it. I never even felt the glue on their ears. |
thanks you guys, I will try some of these. I will pm them, but none of them are on right now. I will keep you posted on getting this off. I hate this!!! When I try to get it off a little she yelps like I am hurting her. AAAHHHH!!!! I will NEVER do this again!!! |
I hope the glue was water solvent..if it was water proof you will have some trouble..when I glue I use fabric glue that can be washed out once water is applied... |
Poor little sweetie...I hope you can manage to get that off without causing her much pain!!! I had never heard of eyelash glue for getting their ears to stand! |
Eeks! Hope you get it off soon, please let us know how you did it if you were able to do so. We just used masking tape with a cardboard center piece when we were taping Yoda's ears. |
baby oil? What about soaking her ear with baby oil? That might break the eyelash glue down enough to where you can remove it. |
Ciera's mom, Did you get the eyelash glue off ...If so how did you do this...let us know the details. :) |
The one I got the idea from was azkaty and also Rizzi had mentioned it in a post, I am not sure how to post the thread as an attatchment, but you can find them by searching for eyelash glue. I pm'd azkaty and she told me to try goof off or nail polish remover. I used my last bit of goof off that I had the other day to get candle wax off my endtable that I bumped and turned over. So I am going to the store today and will get some more. Thanks for everyone's help. I will keep you posted. |
Try vinegar and water....it brings wallpaper paste off. Use 25% vinegar 75% water. Someone shout if you think this will irritate the dogs skin or cause any other kinda damage. |
I hope you get to remove the eyelash glue off soon without hurting her much. Please keep us posted how you manage to remove it. |
Oh my! I've never heard of using any type of glue to help ears go up. I'd try the baby oil or something without chemicals or just try to wait it out longer. Sure hope that comes off without hurting her. I wouldn't use goof-off.....that stuff is STRONG! There are tons of warnings on the container and I definetly wouldn't apply it to skin (warning on container). You must keep in mind that you are putting the vapors of it right next to her eyes and nose also. |
How about a BATH and soaking a cloth on the ears ? I've never heard of this but I bet it will come off - I've used eyelashes and the glue isn't really waterproof |
Thanks Julz, I never really thought about that but you are right, it does say something about avoiding contact with skin. I will try the babyoil and the bath that Villette said. The box says it is waterproof, but maybe not. |
I would not use goof off at all on your baby. That seems kinda dangerous. |
there is eyelash glue remover I hate to try this but perhaps try a bit of finger nail polish remover I bet that will desole it and wash the little ears once you have them removed with a good shampoo. the eyelash remover can be bought at any walmart, target or walgreens I am sure...and would be the safest thing to use! |

You have no idea how relieved I am that you got to read this before going to the store. Let us know what works...I hope it goes smoothly and without any pain or complications. Don't beat yourself up over it either, you were just trying to get the ears up. |
Well guys, I finally got the glue off. I went to walmart and they didn't have any eyelash glue remover, but I did find some eye makeup remover that said it would even remove waterproof mascara and stuff. So I thought well if it is safe enough for our eyes, it was ok. I just soaked a cotton pad and dabbed it on and rubbed some, and after a few min it started coming off. YYYAAAYYY!!! So now it is off and wouldn't you know it, her ears are STILL floppy. :( |
Floppy too Ciera's mom, my Lucy's ears look just like Ciera's. They are completely floppy. I don't think Lucy's will ever stand, I don't think I want to tape them but I did shave all the hair off her entire ear to see if that would help. That was almost a week ago and there's no change. I'm glad you got the glue off. |
