Bree is almost two and I had an area in the kitchen that was gated off with enough room for her to run around along with her food, toys, and bed because she got into everything when she was a pup. One time I let her roam all day and she chewed the cords on the computer, unrolled the toilet tissue, and knocked some picture frames down and chewed the ends, she was a handful then. Now that she is older she roams around all day and to my surprise the house is still in tact when I come home. She occasionally goes in her area when I clean the house. |

Delilah is 11 weeks old. We put her in our mud room and lock her in with a baby gate. All she has in there is her food, water, bed, blanket, and pee pad. I hate having to leave her but unless someone gives me a bunch of money, I have to keep working. :) |
All of my pac stay in the Den because its tiled and its nice and cool... |
I work from home so Mika has company most of the day. When I go out to do the school run or food shopping I leave him in his crate or leave him to run in the back garden with my other 2 dogs. :) |
Apple will be 7 months old in 5 days, and I leave her in the living room, kitchen, dining room, and entry hall...I believe that area is puppy proof, and she's been doing this for a couple of months...She used to be gated just in the kitchen (w/tile floor)...I do have pillows all the way around the couch, in case she jumps on and off...She pees on the tile floor, or her pee pads (if I'm lucky), and I'm gone 8 hrs. a day 5 days a week (I work 7 1/2 hrs. a day...Since some days I work days, and some are afternoons/nights, I'm really w/her quite a bit...In fact, when I'm not working, I'm with her every waking minute lol...I noticed she sleeps alot, during the day, when I'm home, so I presume she sleeps alot, while I'm at work...I can't wait 'till I retire in 2 1/2 yrs., so I can spend all my time w/her...BTW, we walk morning and evening for 20-25 minutes at a really good clip, so she's getting her exercise and so am I :).... Maggie :) & Apple :aimeeyork |
I work compressed shifts which means I am home 3 and 4 days a week. But it also means I am gone 3 and 4 days a week for 12 hours at nite. Pepper is 15 months old but for my piece of mind I leave him in his xpen. Food, water, potty pad, blankies, his crate, and toys. I don't think he ever uses his crate anymore so may take that out to give him more room. I don't have the luxury of getting to come home to let him out, as I work 30 minutes away, so I think this is the safest situation for Pepper and I. I have run to town for an hour or so and if he doesn't go with me, I have been leaving him in the living room and dining room and when I get home he is usually waiting for me on the couch. :D |
Chase is usually at the door to greet us, but when we do manage to catch him off guard he's lounging on top of the couch. Instead of the terrible twos, he's going through a cat phase. When we're at work, he has acccess to the living room and a hallway leading to other rooms. Everything else is gated off. Of course, he has free reign over the place when we're at home. |
I attached NIC Cubes using zip ties to a puppy crate. In the cubed area I put wee wee pads. They won't pee inside the crate unless left there for too long so I put the wee wee pads in the only other area they have access to (other than the crate). It's worked up until Ksena (AKA: Kangaroo) learned how to jump/climb out of it (Please see Avatar). Now when I go to work my husband will have to take them with him or he can just come home (his office building is on the side of our house)and take them out when I'm at work. The next option would be to put the crate in the bathroom and cover the rest of the floor with wee wee pads. |
I have it worked out so whoever is watching my daughter is also watching Copper and Maddie;) It works out pretty good. but when we have to leave them we use a baby gate and a put them in the kitchen, with all their things. Copper is just over 2 years and Maddie Mae is 7months |
