We teach Delilah to go outdoors but since she's so young, when we leave, she has to have some place to go. So we leave her with the pee pads. She does great. I would never use the pee pads otherwise. |
Suzi is all pee pad trained. There were not any problems for her peeing on the pads even as a little puppy. It took time for her to be trained all the way to poop all the time on the pads. We also live in apartments. Suzi wil go potty outside too. She loves walks, and I never discourage her from not pottying outside. When it is too hot, or rainy, then were inside all day anyway. Pee pads are great! You can buy them at Wallmart, Target, Costco, juat about anywhere pet products are sold. |
I am pleasantly suprised that my two do so well with the pads. They poop and pee on the pad. I only allow them in three areas of my house. If they manage to get to an area they arent allowed in (i dont have pads in those rooms) then they will have accidents but it is VERY VERY rare that they have an accident in the allowed areas with pads in them. I have been starting to take the outside though. My hubby wants the housebroken, pad trained isnt good enough for him. But they do really great as long as the pads are around. |

Indoor potty Molly goes on what is called a Ugo dog ...I bought it online and you place paper in the bottom and then 2 grates fit ontop and when she pee's she doesn't step in it and the poop sits on top and I just flush it.. Heres a link U Go Dog Indoor Dog Potty At first we had to put paper on top and then kept making the paper area smaller until it was gone... Best 50.00 I have ever spent... Diana and Molly |

That looks interesting..I would think the grates would bother their paws. So no pee pad..just paper under the grate? Thanks! |
[QUOTE=Darlene68;2626629]Do you throw the pad away after every pee? QUOTE] Personal choice. I would like to see three pee's on it before I change it but apparently my Sully is a clean freak and after he pee's he comes to let me know and runs back and forth from me to the pad until I change it and then he resumes what he was doing.... |
I have three furbabies. Two boys and a girl and their all potty pad trained. They will go outside in the grass if their in the back yard playing but would rather go on the pads. It is possible to train them on the pads only.:) |
Ugo dog Darlene68 Nope no pee pads at all.. Just newspaper... And the grates are pretty small... Molly has what we call a pee pee dance where she kicks her hinds and then when she poops she runs in circles are the house*L* Its really funny shes done that since she was tiny... Tucker amazed me. From the time he was a tiny puppy, he used pee pads. He caught on so quickly. We just got back from a long trip. He learned to go out side at the rest areas. He does both now. |
Both of my dogs are entirely pee pad trained. It can be done. :) |
