Do you ever get bossed around? I was standing in the kitchen last night cuddling Colby Tate when he heard something he needed to go investigate. He started his squirmy wiggling he does when he wants down, and I was scolding him not to do that because it's dangerous and scares mommy. He stopped wiggling, looked me right in the eye and barked (well it was really more of a 'yip' lol). Then he looked down at the floor for a few seconds. He looked back at me, yipped again, then looked down at the floor. The third time he looked at me, he sighed, and put every bit of his 2 1/2 pounds into one big (little) YIP. Then he looked at the floor and bobbed his head a couple of times. The little stinker was ORDERING me to put him down!!! :p I was laughing so hard, and I just wanted to give his cute little face kisses, but he wouldn't have it. When I finally sat him on the floor, he looked up at me, tossed his head and gave a tiny little snort like he was saying 'guess I told you who was boss". Then he strolled off to check things out. OMG he is going to be such a character! :D Do any of you ever get bossed around by your yorkies? |
That is to cute. They may not talk words but they can sure tell us what they are thinking!!! Love it. |
..... and they say animals are not smart!! How cute is he! My little ones know the weekest link when they see one, which is usually me. |
LOLOL.......that's too cute, Colby Tate certainly sounds a little bossy :D And, I would know after having experienced the same type of thing with Ruby. One of her many nicknames is...."The Boss" :p |
Oh, he's going to be a smart one, isn't he. Gracie Ruth was a back talker. I'd scold her and she'd sass right back with a woof-woof complete with an attitude nose in the air. She even went so far as to one time walk away from me swishing her bum and tossing her head back and forth, stopped, looked back at me over her shoulder and woofed a 'Whatever' at me. Of course her eyes nearly popped out of her head  when I snatched her up and growled at her. :p Can you imagine what he might have been thinking since it took him so many tries to get you to understand. "Poor Momma, she's not as smart as me. I have to be patient and try extra hard to get her to understand what I want." Gotta love 'em, they do the cutest things. :) |
yep bree is sassy too and always has been. she sounds like a bird chirping when she makes her sassy noises. and at times when i scolded her and told her quiet, like teresa said, she will turn her back to me, look at me over her shoulder, stick her nose up in the air and whip her head back forward again while making grumbling/growling noises really, it takes all i have to stay serious and not crack up :D |
That is definitely a Queen Chloe thing to do Mr. Colby Tate! 100%! Chloe does all the things mentioned above. She's definitely the ruler of our house and she is NOT afraid to let you know. She sasses back, sighs the biggest, saddest sighs, she'll tell me off. She "meows" JUST like a cat when she's really POd it's hilarious. My poor little brat - such a hard life she leads ;). |
What a funny story! How cute. Tater is also demanding. He has this short raspy woof when he wants something. I will hear it and look over and he will do it again and actually stomps his feet along with it! |
As small as he is Colby Tate has the true personality of a Yorkie:p These stinker's are so bossy, as you are finding out. Buddy does many things to try and be head of the household but the one that happens everyday is to hit me in the back of the leg while I'm walking with his silly rubber clown so I will stop what I'm doing and drop to my knees and play with him. 98% of the time I do:p If I don't he adds a grunt to his actions because he's not getting his way. |
Sometimes and she gets REALLY offended if when she's trying to be mean and fighty if I can't take her seriously with a big pink bow in her hair. |

Chloe does this too! |
Lucy loves to back-chat, too - she always has to have the last word / ruff. Gotta love her for it, though. |
:eyetearss:lol tears:eyetearss Hee hee, I love these stories!! I feel so much better knowing I'm not alone. I was kinda embarrassed to tell everyone that this little hairy ball was telling me what to do lol! |
Yep, Sophie does this too. But I notice the bark is different dependent on who she is dealing with. If it is my DH teasing/playing with her, her bark sounds more like a "you wanna take this outside big guy?" But if it is me scolding her or telling her "no", the bark sounds more like a "ok Mommy. I don't really wanna listen, but I will". It's a hoot! |
Chachi and jewels dont like me to dance and bark at me if I do |

Thor is very timid and will often hide behind be when he's scared. If I pick him up though, all of a sudden he is Mr. Big Dog and will growl at whatever is bothering him. Of course, at 4 lbs, his growl is very high pitched. It's really like no other sound on earth. |
oh boy do I! bailey thinks he can tell me every move i make. he's 5 years old and i have a trainer coming in tomorrow b/c i need help...lol. one thing i didn't know is that their personalities change as they get older. so even tho he had been through two puppy classes, since I didn't keep up with the training and i didn't know his personality "changed" i have one bossy baby on my hands!!! hopefully tomorrow i will be able to get some things accomplished with my little furbaby. |
Laya is very bossy. She snorts, kicks her feet and throws her head back in such a demanding way!!! And she bosses the cat around too. She knows the cat is not allowed on the table, but once in a while she will test me and get up there. If Laya sees her, she runs barking at the top of her lungs toward the table and then chases the cat under the bed. I don't know if I should scold her or thank her. LOL:D |

Yes Bingo Yell's at my Mom for table food which she is well known for giving him or for her to pet him cause I guess she does it the best and she really isn't affectionate but she will give him anything he want's...He yell's at me when I put my shoe's on to go somewhere cause he is telling me he want's to go out so i take him out before I go out even tho he yells at me by the window cause he see's me crossing the street or even hanging out infront of my apt. Minnie I leave the door open to my bathroom and she screams and yells like someone is hurting her cause I am in the shower.. I tell her shut up! mami, Mommy is ok look I am taking a bath lol... She also screams and yells if I leave my bedroom door closed and you would think her and Bingo have each other they fafill each other need's no I don't think so they just bother each other. She also yell's when Bingo is on the bed with me sleeping and she is on her bed sleeping but when I put her up on my bed she go's to play with him and he jump's off and go's in her small bed which he fits comfortable but he get's off to stretch lol Bingo teaze's her cause he can Jump on the bed and she is to little to so she barks and he kisses me to death and makes me rub his belly like he is in charge lol so yeah they are very bossy.... I can keeping going on with my two lol that's the terrier in them |
Bree is a very sassy and bossy little girl. She talks back to my boyfriend all the time and will follow him from room to room barking to the top of her lungs. Last week, my boyfriend told her not to take his socks and hide them and that just got her going. Then he left out of the room and went to take a nap on the sofa. I kid you not, Bree watched him and waited until she thought he was sleep, climbed up by his ear and let out the loudest bark I have ever heard come from a small dog as if to say this conversation is not over yet mister. I tried so hard not to laugh, but it was one of the funniest things I ever saw a dog do. Also, if something is out of place in the house she will definitely let you know it because she investigates everything. She also have little fits when people she do not know touch her toys, her blanket, and sits in her favorite spot on the sofa. Bree is quite the little character. |
Hehe .... My Mike will demand my attention sometimes He'll either come right up to me or jump on the end of the bed and he'll bark ... that means I NEED SOMETHING Then if you acknowledge him or ask him WEhat's the matter Mike? He'll growl and wave his front paws That's when you have to go down the whole laundry list Are you hungry? Do you wanna go out? Do you want your squeaky? ...... and he'll keep pleading until you get to what he wants But most of the time he just wants to be petted and loved up some :p |

oh yes, my Samson refuses to jump on the couch if we are on there but insist he be picked up in order to snuggle with us. I know for a fact he can jump on the couch because when I leave the room for a while (like to go to the garage to do laundry or go take a shower) and I return he is sleeping on the couch. I know no one put him there because I am home alone during the day with the dogs. now if we are home and sitting on the couch he comes and does this low bark, it isn't like a mean bark just this low bark he has and does it until we put our hand down to pick him up. the bad thing is he ALWAYS backs away the first time you do it and you have to sit all the way back on the couch, he barks again, you put your hand down again to pick him up and he walks right to your hand to be lifted. I actually say "elevator up" when I am lifting him. I am not sure why he does this or why he backs up but he absolutely wears the pants in the family. The thing is I let him do it and it is because he is to darn cute!:D |
