Question on panting Hello everyone. This may sound kind of dumb, but little Douglas went for a nice walk with Daddy yesterday and I noticed that he pants with his tongue curled up instead of down. I've never seen that in a dog. This is our first Yorkie and we are wondering if this is normal or something we need to be concerned about. Douglas is five months old, by the way

That is completely normal! My Jeremiah does the same thing. Do you mean like this? Is that what your Douglas looks like when he pants?

Buddy's curls up also when he's hot. When they pant it's a cooling mechanism that's cools them down. I would take bottled water with me next time and offer that to him to cool him down. Yorkie's get hot easy.
