Alfie A Thread for all our Alfies Hello Alfies Mum This is Alfies Dad This is our thread and anyone else with an Alfie Post your day to day diary of your Alfie |
Poor Alfie couldn't come in my van today as I was on a building site Bless him, He leapt in my van and I had to take him back indoors boy! did he sulk, a couple of schmackos later and I escaped Why does he make me feel so bad |
When I get home, I have to put down my day bag and get out any goodies I have found him for the day. Today was no different Straight away, a leap and a lick on the nose, (wish my ex wife was like that, lol, tongue in cheek) a roll on the floor, throw some balls, get hand bitten cos he is lively now he is settled at my side watching me write about him |
Hi there.:) Alfie had a great walk to the beach and back today.3 miles there and back So now he is lying in his favourite bed ,my husbands North Face puffa jacket , he has 3 beds but this is his favourite as soon as this jacket is put down anywhere he snuggles in in and goes to sleep. |
He obviously likes the scent of your fella also its warm when he takes it off lol Where in Scotland are you My Daughter was living in Fife for two years till a couple of years back |
1 Attachment(s) We are near Glasgow but down on the clyde coast. This is Alfie and his wee sister Lottie. |
Love this story--thanks! |
well my Alfie has been a bad boy see the other thread Paddy and alfie I am trying to get it all to this thread , but it seems people like the other one no worries , this is for all Alfies keep it going folks (all Alfie owners) Little sod has been burying his bones again today, cooked ones from the butcher Keeps coming in with his head covered in mud I watched him, he digs with front paws and buries it with his head The girls next door have repaired their fence now Alfie will not have another chihahua for lunch anytime soon |
He He you have to laugh at his antics If it was a kid you would belt it But he is a man my little man previous owners wanted him down not me I look for the best in him even if it is just a lick on the nose |
Alfie has been bad Guess what the rascal has done now ? It was a nice warm afternoon a few days ago, so we put our birdcage containing two zebra finches in the garden for some fresh air. The birds always beep beep to us to talk Alfie has never shown any interest When we went out to bring the birds in he had knocked the cage off the table onto the patio, one had escaped ( I hope ), something tells me Alfie has eaten her We now only have one hen, who is beeping all the time, we talk to her, but she misses her friend of three years, so my next mission is to get some more Zebra finches. I am checking out breeders at the moment to make sure I get strong ones Last time round, we bought seven and only two lasted more than three days Alfie is a rascal, I do not know whether the bird flew away or Alfie ate it He does not normally go near the cage, so I am giving him the benefit of the doubt, and hopefully he only knocked the cage off the table and the Hen flew to paradise, the weather is warm at the moment so I hope she found food and survived a while. The remaining Hen will not leave the cage, she just calls for her friend The least I can do is get some more Zebra Finches to be company for her When I say i don't know with Alfie , I mean it He is so unpredictable But I love him to bits As far as I am concerned the bird flew to freedom with the help of Alfie |
Juliealfies mum I am driving to Lochcarron this Friday On a mission We will be passing near you in Glasgow we are there for two days and then back home Will get loads of pics for you all Alfie is staying with my son, it would be too much for him, the long drive and all |
Just a note guys For our American friends Lochcarron is on the west coast of Scotland near the isle of Skye It is a beautifull place to be perhaps a bit like Nova Scotia for those who have visited Canada hey anyway I will take some pics for you Love G |
we had a brilliant trip to LochCarron 3 days of wonder On Saturday night we were taken for a trip up the Loch to the sea with the local life boat, when we got there we had some 15-20 dolphins plaing with us at 10.00pm at night, wonderful We were taken by local guides around the mountains and Lochs, oh! what a beautiful place. got some pics for you, my camera got left in B&B so had to use phone cam, got some videos too of the dolphins but trying to work out how to upload them for you sit tight will do my best Love g x |
Lochcarron 2 Attachment(s) Lochcarron |
The 1st pic is in the village of Lochcarron, the second is in the mountains above Applecross looking over the sea to the isle of skye, a special moment and pic, this is not a view a lot of people will see in their lifetime, I am so Lucky and proud to share this pic with you. The mountains behind and in front are said to be the oldest in the world, the trossack mountains |
Just re read one of my posts and i owe an apology I did not intend to mean that my friends from afar did not know my country, I was only trying to explain where I was all the best Graham |
The pictures were beautiful. Living in California and never having been to England I appreciated your descriptions. I'm sure Alfie will be glad to have you back home. |
Things have been quiet the last couple of weeks since returning from Scotland. Apart from Alfie biting the gas fitters ankle. I did a write up on another thread about that, If you can't find it I will dig the page out for you There is never a dull moment with the little rascal in the house. He is giving me one of those looks right now, I think he wants to go to the woods. Trouble is he had a bath today and he will find fox poo again and roll in it, so maybe I will contain him to the garden till tommorow. Uh oh! he is operating my mouse, he just has to be in on the action, he is stretched out on the arm of my chair now, trying to nose in closer to the laptop. I am still trying to figure out how to get that video of the dolphins from my phone onto either the thread or my profile, I managed to transfer it to my laptop, it is a .gp3 file, does anyone know how to upload one of these files? |
Love your story. Alflie sounds like a handful. My kids bark at anything and everything too, but my cocker starts the chorus. I hope you keep updating us on Alfie. I just hate when people abuse dogs. I think that the previous owner got what she deserved for being mean to Alphie. |
You may remember a few weeks back that Alfie knocked the cage over and we lost Zebra finch Today was the day . BeeeBee was let out of her cage to fly free My baby such a sweet bird The Uk now has a Zebra finch living in the wild she flew straight up to the big oak in our garden I troubled and argued with June whether to let her go her best mate of 3 years escaped a few weeeks back I am so glad she is free I am crying losing her I hope she loves her freedom |
Alfies Nemesis Yesterday we visited the black country, we had a massive walk around a park in Halesowen where my cousin lives, Alfie and I walked for about two hours, he thought he would take on a duck, mistake, cor, did he get it in the face. He was looking pretty sorry for himself. Today he was full off beans and we did our local woods, so what does he do, tries to take a fox den out, he is a lunatic. lucky the foxes weren't at home My beebee flew today only me and Alf left now |
Awe Alfie daddy should of told you that those ducks bite hard.:p I love reading about your adventures though. Have fun little man. |
1 Attachment(s) Alfie looking Mean His last rat slipped from his grasp He is getting good at hunting now and he is as tough as nails |
1 Attachment(s) This is Alfies garden ( 100' x 40', just the right size for a little man) he loves the hidey holes in the shrubs, he barks a lot and really looks after his territory. He is watering his bone that he buried a while back. |
Hey, it's looks like we have the same weather lots of clouds and rain, maybe sun once in a while. Oh ya, I'm in Canada, Calgary, Alberta I'm sure you've heard about Calgary Stampede, wild cowboys and out of control Indians.... |
Classic Alfie not to be outdone, decided he would take on a frog in our garden today, He picked it up in his mouth and promptly spat it out, he kept going in and nudging it with his nose. So funny, he got beat, the frog survived and Alfie has been spitting feathers for the last few hours. I think he will leave frogs alone in the future. Back to the woods for my boy and a rat for breakfast. |
Oh! forgot to mention. Alfie came shopping at the supermarket with me earlier, he had to wait in my van , when i got back he leaped in the back and tore open the bags for his bits, sausages everywhere, I grabbed a few and munched them to wind him up. My oh My! never a dull moment here with alfie, I just love him to pieces. I think he has a cataract starting, his eyes are a lovely brown, but the light caught him sideways today and I could see a faint milk in his eye, my last yorkie had these but it did not impair his life. |
You go Alfie!!!! Sounds like you have such a wonderful life :p. I wish I could allow my little ones more freedom but it seems we have been invaded by hawks this year so therefore I have to keep them on their leash or in their xpen when we are outside. I am hoping hawks have a season like other birds lol. |
I recon it's in the name, my Alfie has been a handful from day one. He decided to try taking on a swan a couple of months ago, boy was my heart in my mouth. He's good when he wants to, which is mostly never. He even thinks my sisters home is part of his turf, had to spend alot of time there b4 xmas as my mom was in hospital quite a bit so she looked after him for me. Boy was his nose put out when they got Tilly their cocker puppy. Wait till he finds out theres another now, he's called Jay, one thing to put up with a girl but another male. Oh well we'll just have to see what happens. |
Well that confirms it Alfie is totally mad June just got home from the shops and gave him is favourite treat, a pigs ear. She caught him running down the garden with it in an attempt to bury it, and called him back. He has just come in totally covered in mud, his head is caked in it, the little terror has snuck out the back door in the pouring rain and buried it. He looks pretty pleased with himself, although I don't know what he is going to chew on now, I am not going to the shops for another one for him to bury. Mad as a hatter. |
