Should I take him? 2 Attachment(s) So I was reading a thread on yorkietalk from Danyell about how she got a beautiful little girl from craigslist...so I went on and LOOK AT WHAT I FOUND! :D ---------------------------------------------- I have a 4 1/2 year old male purebred Yorkshire Terrier that I am trying to find a good home for. He is housebroken and extremely friendly. He is good with kids and other animals. He loves attention and is full of energy. He is kennel trained. He comes with a bed, kennel, leash, harness, a few outfits, toys, etc. He would be a welcome addition to any home that loves dogs. If you are interested, and live quite a distance away, we will be willing to travel to an extent to meet you half way. An adoption fee is being asked for. ------------------------------------------------ I'm super excited! Should I take him? I wanted a male dog...he's a little older than I wanted but its okay...I've been wanting one to be with Libbie when I'm at work cause I know shes bored...I still need to call that person when I get off of work to see if its for real or not..........here is a two photos of him that the person posted...what do you guys think? |
if he's half of how he sounds on that ad, I'd snatch him up if I were you :) |
wow-what a cutie pie. I bet he is gone in minutes. I would act fast if your gonna get him :)1 |
I think, if he and Libbie seem to like each other during a meet and he passes a vet exam, you should get him. He is adorable looking!! I wonder why they are having to rehome him? Keep up posted!! |
HE is cute and sounds perfect. I would get him |
LOL! I read the same thread and did the exact same thing as you! Unfortunately, not with the same good results. I sure hope you can get him. I want a male also to give company to my 7 mth old female. |
I would go sneak a break at work and call them now! He will be snatched up in a heart beat and he sounds great! Good Luck and let us know! |

He's very cute. I'm not raining on your parade...but how old is Libbie? A 4.5 yr old dog isn't usually interested in puppy antics. |
should I take him? Yes, I agree with bchgrl in that sometimes older dogs don't like getting along with young ones. I know when I take my boys to the yorkie meetups, they love to play with the others and the older yorkies just get extremely irritated! They snarl and bark at them. I try to keep them away from the older yorkies. Just take your little one to see how they interact. Make sure you have someone to accompany you. You don't want this to be some psycho. |
We have a 12 yo & a 7 yo plus 10mo Sophie. 12yo doesn't mind her as long as she doens't stragiving him the butt. The 7yo & her have their moments but generally get along & we've only had her for about 5 weeks, |
Ramsey is 3 1/2...she isn't mean to Frazier who is 7 months, and they get along but she isn't his playmate. That title belongs to Reggie...who's only 7 months older. I think if you are looking for a playmate....you should look for a dog closer in age. |

But I know I DO want him! |
good luck and keep us posted. |
My last piece of advice....do not go alone to meet this person. I would also ask to see his vet records. You can have libbie evaluated to determine if she's show quality...and if you get the male...have him neutered. Peeked at your album...how old is Libbie and what she weigh? If she doesn't reach 5 pounds...she won't be large enough to show. |

Well, he's really adorable, and for the price, he's quite the "steal". ;) And if you really want him, just get him neutered, and there's no risk of an accidental breeding. Good Luck! Sheila |

I have been told that Libbie is a extremly tiny dog...she weight only 1lb 2oz at 9 weeks and at 13 weeks for some reason when I took her in for a vet visit they said she weight the same? Maybe because I had her eat before we went to the first visit and the second one I went right after work so I don't know if she ate or not. She is now 16 weeks and I'm SURE she grew. She feels heavier and like the BF says..she can almost lick his face when shes on his lap...before she couldn't :p. But if she's not big enough to show...its okay. I'll still love her reguardless. :D She's my first and only yorkie. And for sure if she does not reach 5lbs I'm going to get her spayed. But I guess we'll just wait and see.... and I'll keep everybody posted on the male dog! :D Lets hope everything goes well ((fingers cross)) |
so cute! :D i would definitely have your dog meet him first and see how they interact. it will be nice for your puppy to have someone to hang out with when you are not home. :) and just something to consider because you don't want to put yourself in a bad situation. make sure that you will be financially ok taking care of two dogs if the dogs need emergency care or something expensive. i am just saying that because i have read a few posts recently about people having trouble paying for vet bills and wanted to remind you to consider this as well. :) good luck, i hope he gets along with your baby! :) |
BF couldn't come with me yesterday to go see the male yorkie... hopefully he can go with me today! I'll keep you guys posted! |
He is super cute and he is still young enough to be a good playmate for Libby,id have him neutered if hes not already ,papers dont really matter much unless your breeding or showing him .Now im following your thread and hopefully he will be a perfect match for your family. |
Did you get him? |
