People just do not understand! So just a few minutes ago, one of my co-workers walks by my desk and goes ( rudely ) "How can you sit and read about yorkie s**t all day!" Uhhhhmmmm , first of all jerkface, I am an avid animal lover and will read what i want.. second of all, all these people on YT are far more interesting and caring than you could ever be... maybe I am over reacting, but I would much rather talk to and socialized with all of you YT members than some of the people in my office at times LoL Why are people such jerks!! |
You are right they just don't get it. Nevermind those rude comments. We understand ;) |
Some people don't understand a passion... My husband jokes about how much I am on YT, but I don't mind because he just does not understand. A lot of people do not know how much we love our babies... they say "he's just a dog!" Don't worry, they are the ones missing out :D |
YORKIES RULE!!!!! I think this website is addicting, and a great get away from everything else. I agree with you. We are all here for each other if we need something. Don't you just love the videos and pictures too! I laugh so much at some of those cute babies. They don't understand, and it does not even matter!! How do you like living in Japan? Do you read Japanese or speak it? Just wondering.... Have a good day, don't let the mean people get you down! |
They do not understand that dogs make our lives complete |
Remember, people at work are just aquaintances. |
well.... People don't understand what they're missing......if you have never loved or been loved by an animal, your life is truly incomplete:) |

Eek...I understand your love of Yorkies and this site but perhaps your co-worker was expressing some frustration at your work performance. Are you carrying your weight around the office and doing the job for which you are being paid? Just taking a more objective view since I have been in your co-worker's place before where I had to do my job and the rest of us had to pick up a co-worker's slack because she was doing other things on "company" time like planning a wedding or building a house, etc. It could be that it's not a Yorkie thing at all but rather an attempt to get you to start carrying your weight in the office! For that particular language to be used in the work place, your co-worker sounds as though she had reached a point of frustration. I'm not judging you and I certainly don't know your situation but I am trying to give you a larger picture of what may be happening. It is unfair to those who work with you for you not to do the job for which you were hired. If your particular job should be evaluated and rated, could this observation of your time on the internet site while at work be a problem for you? I have also seen instances where a co-worker might say such a thing in an attempt to help someone. For instance, if there is "water cooler" talk about the time you spend on non-work-related things, maybe she was just trying to give you a heads-up before you do get in trouble with the boss. I don't know your occupation nor your age nor your circumstances but I have retired from 30 years of work and (unfortunately sometimes) worked with all kinds. She may actually be trying to help you tone down the off-task time before you get in trouble. She may only be trying to make you aware of what others are saying/observing. Just a thought... |

You might want to ask her why she is so interested in what you're doing in the first place? She should mind her own business. |
This type of person I find, are sad and lonely even if they won't admit it. And they have no passion in their lives. They are just saaaaad people. |
Before this gets out of hand... For the poster above and anyone else that reads this.. the time that i am spending surfing the web is WELL DESERVED.. when I am on the web at work it is because i have completed all of my daily tasks and often some extra tasks thrown in. I am not a lazy person who depends on others to do my job for me while i surf YT. I am not being defensive... just letting people know. People including my boss are well aware of my "YT addiction" lol and are completly fine with it.. because i DO get my work done and pull my weight. this jerkface just had to open his mouth because he obviously has nothing to occupy HIS time. I am all for " if you dont have something nice to say, dont say anything at all"... that is all lol |
When I first read this I too thought maybe it was her way of telling you that he/she disapproves of how you spend your time at work, regardless of if your military or not. I might feel the same way, but I also understand that coming to Yorkie talk is nice when you don't have anything else to do. I do that to when I get sick of cleaning up after my kids or doing homework etc. but I would never get away with jumping on the internet while I was working, we can barely make personal phone calls.Or maybe this person is just an A**. There are a lot of rude people out there that have no problem with being a jerk for the fun of it. I would take a close look at if this person has a valid point, if they don't then just ignore them. Being military and being paid by all of our taxpayers money, I would say that could become something that bothers me, I would not really be happy to know that my local government etc. is using their time surfing the net if there are other things to do, while being paid by our taxes(especially if the entire office is doing the same thing). I don't mean to start anything, but that is my opinion. That could be a structural problem with how the military system is set up, which wouldn't surprise me at all. Again, I don't want to start anything, but I did have an opinion about it, so I posted it. |

People can rude. It's none of their business! Personally, I don't really let people know I post on here, I try to keep it "secret" because people actually be really mean and rude (even friends & family) and I'd prefer to just avoid the hassle, lol. I enjoy coming on here after dinner and in the evenings. That's mostly my computer time and I spend a good amount of my computer time on YT, LOL. Maybe that's obsessive - But I don't care *shrugs* It doesn't take up my life or anything and I enjoy talking to all you people and learning new things about my "baby!" |
I did not call you lazy, I don't know you. You couldn't pay me a million dollars to walk around another country with chem. gear and rifles even if my plane ticket was paid for. I just wanted to state that I have concerns with a whole office of the governmant surfing the net. If you are only going on at lunch or at the end of the day, that probably isn't going to be concerning, but if your office has tons of idle time to do whatever, then I don't agree it is o.k. Yt doesn't allow political conversations, so that's all I can say. I think we should simply agree we like Yorkies and leave the rest of this conversation alone.;) |
Miss Bailey was sent from god. I have wanted a yorkie for 20 years. We had poodles,my last one was rocky we had him 19 years.when he passed away I was so sad.Someone told me about yt so i started going on here,I loved to see the pictures and read the stories. My husband said NO MORE DOGS and he meant it.After 2 months everybody told him that i needed a yorkie because thats what i wanted,or i was going to be like this for months.I couldn't do anything, and i was thinking how could i be married to someone so mean.we have been married for 32 years, and we were not going to make it to 33.Both of my kids are grown and out of the house.they convinced him to get a yorkie for me.WELL b-4 she got here he told me,this was his exact words I will not have any thing to do with it don't ask me to get dog food at the store when i go,that will be your dog.I said ok hahaha... the night she got here i had here in bed with me,paul works nights so he came in about 3 in the morning, when he walked in the bedroom she barked and acted like she was going to eat him alive. She was 2 lbs.He picked her up laughing at her.SHE WALK RIGHT INTO HIS HEART.When he calls from work its always howse my girl doing,he has bought her so many toys and he's not mean anymore.bailey has paul wrapped around her little paw,and she loves her daddy.paul is nice and not mean anymore thanks to this 4 lbs of spoiled rotten. thanks Suzie |
You get to read this at work consider yourself lucky, most companys frown on net talking ssshh! don't tell em all you might lose your job |
Hey if your boss is ok with it and your doing your work then who's this guy to make any sort of comments to you? Tell him to blow out his you know what. He's not writing your paycheck so what does he care? My hubby is self employed and doesn't like to pay people to do personal stuff on his dime. He also doesn't care for other employees getting into another ones business. He wants them to do the job they're paid for. He's not paying anyone to worry about what the other is doing. That would be like babysitting a bunch snot nosed tattle tail kids all day long. He's pretty laid back and doesn't worry much about what they're doing as long as the job is getting done. I think this guy was way out of line to say that stuff to you. I don't really understand what it is about people making comments like that. Are they threatened by the fact that you know something about a topic they are ignorant about? I share alot of stories and ideas from YT with my hubby, he always seems to enjoy hearing them. He also knows how much my little dog means to me and he loves her as much as I do. |

I thought this was a dead thread.. sigh... Ok I hate having to rehash what I have already said... first off.. when the guy ( my co-worker) said " how do you like at this s**t all day" he was referring to the free time we get ( a lunch a 2 ten min breaks ) . I go straight to YT and no other websites so he finds it a bit obsessive, but whatever. Some websites at work are blocked but this one is not. My supervisor knows about it, some other people in the office are apart of different forums at work, the guy that made the snide comment is apart of a runner's forum. So before a million other people read this thread which I thought was dead and long gone. I AM NOT USING "WORK" TIME TO YT. I am simply choosing to come here on my lunch a breaks that I am given at work to do whatsoever I please. I am a hard worker and do not slack off. THank you! |

He's just jealous that you've got a good site to visit, would be better if we didn't even have to work then I could spend more time on YT and more time with my baby and we also wouldn't have to put up with snide comments from work colleagues. |
I totally understand you. The guy was a rude I'll just say butt. Plus he should mind his own business. I'm addicted to this site so how could I not understand? ;):D |
Just tell him to take a flying leap!! You are smart to spend time here!!! Glad to have you!! How much longer is your tour? |
And furthermore... OP: I would not be bothered by the statements people here on YT make about you surfing the net while you are at work. CLEARLY they did not read your post about how you are doing this on your lunch breaks, and free time. I don't think you need to be corrected any more about this!! Instead I want to say thank you for serving your country and being overseas!! I am glad you can get a taste of home here on this website. If there is anything I can do for you please do not hesitate to ask!! Maybe I can make you a harness for your dog. Send me its measurements, neck and torso behind the legs. And pm me the address to send it to. Is it a boy or girl!! Would love to do something nice for you!! |
