I live 2 hours from my parents. But my dad only works 3 days a week so I know he will keep an eye out. My parents also have a dog, who will alert them if another dog shows up. If my dad does spot her though, I will drive to their house right away to get her, not that I don't trust them, but I don't think that my parents understand just how many stray dogs there are, and how the only way to help is to make sure they get some place safe.

How sad! :( Poor baby girl. I pray someone finds her and takes her in and gives her a wonderful life! You did the best you could for her, at least she had a meal and some water. I pray she find her way 'home' (not to her owners but to a home who will love her and treat her right!)

I understand you're being upset I would be too. She must have been so hungry she would take the food from you but so afraid that she took the first chance to get away. She may not have gone far, she may come back for food. Keep watching for the poor thing.

oh wow. thats so sad. I hope she is fine and the food and water helped her. I would have started crying if i saw that. =(

I think, if your parents put food out every day, at the same time, she will come back and eat. She'll learn the time the food is there, so it has to be the same time each day. Then, if they work at winning her trust, she will come to them.

Please convince them to put the food out.

I am in tears, reading about this tiny baby.

I wish I lived there, I'd sit and wait every day in hopes she'd show up.

:( At first I thought you found the pup in Richmond but then read that it was 2 hours away. If you find the pup again, let me know and I will take it in (even if its just to dr it up and find a good home for it). Please do not send it to the humane society! Just keep me updated, ok? Feel free to PM me if you have any new details. I have no problems coming to your apt and picking it up if you find it again.

I hope you find this little one, maybe it crawled under something and is hiding maybe you could keep puting out food for it and it will come back.:animal-pa

If she finds the pup, and you want a good home, just let me know. I'll take the baby.

The older I get, the less understanding I have of the inhumanity in this world.

How could anyone be so callous as to abandon such a tiny baby???? :mad:

I will definitely keep everyone updated. I talked to my dad earlier and he said he went out today and looked again. He didn't find anything. And don't worry, I wasn't going to let her go to the pound. We called the humane society to come get her so that they could pick her up and check her health, but I always planned on going to get her as soon as I could. That's why I keep calling the shelter in my town to see if someone has brought her in. I would adopt her in an instant. I still can't stop thinking about her.

I will pray that you find her. I hope someone has a kind heart, like yours, and will take her to the shelter.

thank you for keeping us updated. i would also suggest leaving food and water out for her everyday (where you last saw her).

i hope you are able to find her. poor little baby. :(

i read that there is a whistle you can purchase, it's high frequency and only dogs can hear it. maybe that can help you find her.

Although I was unable to find her, I do (thank goodness) have an update. I came across an ad in my local paper that 6 Shih Tzu puppy mill breeding dogs were rescued in my town! I looked at the pictures and sure enough, the females (all look alike) but they do look just like the girl that wandered onto my property. 3 out of the 6 have already been adopted! (Good news!) I have contacted the shelter and am waiting for a response. I want to make sure that the girl that I saw is one of the bunch and not still out there by herself. I am so happy to hear that somebody got them help!!

I wonder how she got separated from the bunch? I hope she is ok and on to a better life.
