| What Age? I know all the people who owned yorkies forever probably get a laugh out of us newbies and our questions but that said lol At what age should a yorkies coat reach the floor? |

| I think it differs with each one. Ben's reached the floor at about 2 years. But we had him in a puppy cut for a while so it might have been sooner if we had let it grow earlier. Some never grow to the floor. I don't laugh at your questions because even after having them for years, I still learn new things on here all the time. If we every stop learning, we might as well check out.

| I talked with a yorkie breeder at the dog show a few weeks ago and her male yorkie that she was showing had hair to the floor and he was a year and a half.

| My Jewels never did and I let it grow 3 yrs. I thought I read a post from a show person once that said yorkies kept as pets coats dont grow to the floor. That requires wrapping and keeping them inside so there isnt any breakage

| Gus is 18 months old now. Seems like his hair has been floor length for several months.

YT Addict | I think it is all with bloodlines, and the time to put into it. If you let knots get in it and it breaks off trying to get knots out, it will take longer. If you keep it brushed good it will grow better. Show breeder use wraps to help their's grow with out breaking off. |

| I have never wrapped Ben's and he is outside a lot. He has about an acre of our property fenced just so he and the others can run to their heart's content. Ben is head of the squirrel patrol, so he puts a lot of time in policing the perimeter. Still his grows to the floor. Right now it is about an inch off the floor as I requested that at his grooming. Hoping to reduce the amount of debris he brings inside. He was also stepping on it which looked very uncomfortable.

| Amelia's hair seems to grow as fast as mine. If I would have left it to grow it would have been to the floor when she was around 8 months. Too much mantainance for me. Hello puppy cut. |
