local add for BEIWER YORKIES

ok i just found a local add for

BEIWER YORKIES, CKC, registered, one girl, one boy, 10 weeks old, 1st shots, 850-913-8378.

as far as i knew ckc didnt reg BEIWER YORKIES i thought there was only the german reg for the BEIWER YORKIES so far please any info about them ?!!!

If you mean the Continental Kennel Club, they will register anything including mixed breeds, I think you may be referring to the AKC or the legitimate Canadian Kennel (CKC) club who will not register biewers. There are various breed clubs and registries for Biewers, I would be a little suspicious of one registered with the CKC though, since it means nothing. Biewers are extreemly popular, and poor breeders, are taking advantage of that fact.

They're actually called biewer terriers, as they're not a yorkie.:)
I looked it up and she's out of Florida, I will see if someone I know knows her. Mine will be registered with BTRA

Biewers currently can register with several US breed club registeries, in Germany, and with ARBA. I don't know about CKC but have heard the same thing-- that they will register any dog.

some of the clubs call them that. i have also seen a club somewhere that does call them "biewer yorkies" and then there is another club that calls them "biewer terriers". it depends on which club you join. each has its good points and it is an individual decision as to which one you want to follow ;)

Thanks for explaining, that was the 2nd time I heard they aren't Biewer yorkies so I went and looked up the orginal standard from Mr. & Mrs. Biewer and they called them Biewer Yorkshire a la Pom Pon. so I figure that is what they should be called LOL Do you think I can tell all the clubs changing the names this? They will listen to me right? :cool:

I just adore them, one day I will have my very own, perfectly marked painted baby :luvu:

i would love to have one but not from a shady breeder just wanting the $$ i dont know its all somewhat confusing they are such beautiful creatures! thanks for the replys!!

The BTCA is the only club that Mrs Biewer is involved in. They are now called biewer terriers and are a breed of their own. They are not a yorkshire terrier but are a relative.

I know a very good breeder in Alabama, she has some beautiful pups right now. Or hold on, in 1 1/2 to 2 years, I'll be having some babies.;)

Some of the owners call them Biewers a la pom pon.

And not all Biewer owners and breeders belong to a club.

There are lots of options. Ask for references on any breeder you want to buy from....potential buyers need to ask lots of questions, ask to talk other buyers, go on all the biewer forums and ask as many questions as you want. Ask other customers if they would buy from their breeder a second or third time.

I don't know about going on all the Biewer forums. There is only one that I know of that is open to ALL the public.

Is one of these forums one I got kicked off of for asking questions? I was on one, I won't say which one, and when I answered a question, people started questioning me. I was answering to the best of my knowledge. Then, I asked one question, got off the computer for a little bit, went back on the forum, and I was kicked off. The admin said I could write to them to ask why and they would tell me, which I did right away, and they never did answer me. It's okay though, I don't know if you belong to that forum or not, but, they sure weren't very helpful in helping me to learn about the biewer. It was more like a gossip forum, but, I'm sure that's not the one you're talking about anyway

If you would check out the country of origin -- they do not call them Biewer Terriers... the BTCA changed the name to Biewer Terriers for whatever reason. All it takes is a little research -- don't just take one person's explanation of it.

Yes, It's open to the public UNLESS and UNTIL you disagree with something that is said by the "owners" of that forum, then you are "Banned for Life" no explaination, no chance to talk about it or anything else, just the BOOT. OOOH, soo sooo sad :(

The BTCA changed the name to Biewer Terrier in 2006. Mr. Biewer registered his dogs as Biewer Yorkshire Terrier a la Pom Pons with ACH. Mr Biewer was still working on the standard and not perfected it before he died.
When Mr. Biewer died, everything was left to Gertrud Biewer and her discretion on what should be done with the breed. Mrs. Biewer has joined the BTCA because she believes they will continue the dream that her husband had for the breed

That's right, you must know that group too, did you get banned from there also? ,It was a terrible forum wasn't it? it was BFF(biewer fancier forum). someone asked a question in there, and I gave my opinoin, and then asked a question, and bam, I was gone. But, that's okay! It's really just kind of a gossip forum where no one seems to know the answers to anything. Really can't learn anything from any of those people in there.

I think Biewers are gorgeous. they look hard to care for though. With all the grooming. Is there anybody in California that are good breeders? I have a feeling they are a very expensive breed too.

Do you remember that thread that goes back to 2006 called "True Biewers" I was more mixed when I was finished then when I started reading it.

Yes, there are some excellent breeders in CA. You can pm me, and I will give you some of the best.
They are no harder to take care of than a yorkie. Some can get costly, and yet you can find some really nice ones for good prices. I know of some people that ask more for some yorkies than some biewers, and then of course, there is a parti yorkie which when I was checking in to those a few years back, they wanted $5000 for them.:eek:
