This is a frightneing thread:( very close calls... Especially at night, living on dark streets whein yorkies get out . They are so tiny and fast. Makes my heart stop !
We are on the second floor, Suzi will not go down the steps, thankfully! However, she HAS done so . my brother incouraged her , and when he told me this I was pissed.. She also did it as a teenaged girl ran down the stairs, and Suzi chased after her. She ran accross the grass to the park, right in the arms of a little boy. Suzi loves kids! My niece ran after Her. My family was caring for the animals while we were gone on vacation. I was unhappy to find out that this occured though!
Now , Suzi goes to the top of the cemented stairs .. I call her back though, she will not go down them with me though. I feel I can't trust my brother anymore :( Suzi is always on a harness and lead when outdoors, but he just lets her out... VERY dangerous!

OMG I would have been sobbing too!!! You poor thing...

And I'm sooooooooooo glad your hubby saw Maggie!!! How scary!!! Especially at night!!

Too many close calls!! Its frightening!

One of the things that we have taught and still are in the process is that when a car is coming, they are to move over to the side and sit down. Now having said that, that is when they are with us...no telling at all what they would do if they were out on their own. They do really well sitting but like I said, that is with us.

I totally agree with you there. When we have a gathering, they both go into the expen. And unless I can focus on them or if someone is actually holding them, they stay in there! I've had my guest sitting in the pen because they wanted to say hello and play with them for just a few moments. lol.

Thanks, I hope they outgrow it too! I am glad that they were always okay when they got loose. :)

Oh gosh, how scary. I'm so glad your hubby saw her in time. These babies sure can be sneaky and give us a billion and one heart attacks. :cool:

I would be upset as well! It makes me mad when people don't respect how you want to handle your pets, or children for that matter. I am glad that Suzi was fine in her little adventure. We always harness and leash ours as well, you just never know and Maggie is such a bird watcher. She is going to get one one day, Yuk! :eek:

I'm glad you saw her. Mine are fast little buggars so I'm always freaking out, we live on a very busy corner.

I agree! lol. I've been doing so good with training Jackson with certain things and I bring him over to my father's house and it all goes out the window! Dad says "Ah, don't lock him up, he's fine!" (When I was crate training in the beginning, he's fine now with free roam of the downstairs) and he will sneak him pieces of his turkey and ham, etc. I'm like "DAD, make him do a trick or something at least - don't just GIVE him food!" LOL. He's like "That's what grandpas are for!"

Aww, you must've been terrified. I'm so glad she's safe. It's frightening how quickly they can get out. MG, if we yorkie moms had a nickel for every time they scared the everlivin' daylights out of us.

My Bernie is a rescue that came to us after being hit by a car at nine months old then abandoned by his family. Thankfully, he survived, but he did need re constructive surgery and still has some problems today. Anyway, one day dh opened the front door and that quick Bernie was on the front lawn :eek:. We live on a busy street and I panicked until he was safely back in our house.

Later that day Hubby had constructed a freestanding gate that spans our 9 foot wide foyer. We have never taken it down. No way my baby is getting hit by a car two times in his life!!!

Again, I'm thankful your hubby saw her and that you can all rest easy tonight. Those little ones are so quick!!!

SO glad you found her!! That is horribly scary!! Leo gets out sometimes too and runs for the hills. I'm terrified he'll get hit by a car!
