Sock Bandit!!! What is something in your house that you can not seem to keep out of reach from your furbaby?? LoL Marley, no matter what I do , seems to always find a d**n sock somewhere. She prances around too in front of me like " Haha i found another one momma, what'cha gonna do about it!" It would funny to hear some other peoples stories about ordinary household things that intrigue our furbabies! |
Yup, Lucy's a sock-rustler, too. Other things which she loves are cleaning cloths, knickers and tissues. She used to go crazy when the postman came ... until I hit on the idea of letting her carry the mail. Then she used to rush away with it, hiding it ... so now she gets her 'own letter' every day (I keep spare envelopes and flyers in the porch). She trots around as proud as punch with 'her' letter ... and then shreds it! |
My dog likes to steal the sponge out of the bathroom. He thinks the sponge is a toy. He runs around with it in his mouth. He sometimes tries to get me to play fetch with the sponge by dropping it by my feet. I am trying to teach him that a sponge is not a toy, but it is going to take a while. :D |
Haha , those are both funny. Marley likes to get ahold of my washcloth in the morning too... i clean my face and put it on the side of the tub to dry.. she doesnt even play with it.. just drags it into the living room and leaves it.. lol |
Kleenex! Both Gracie Ruth & Yogi LOVE to shred Kleenex. Yogi has even gone so far as to pull one out of the box if he can't scavenge one. I dread the day they may find the toilet paper.:p |
Register receipts sound really great when Johnny shakes them. If I leave my purse available to him, he'll poke his nose in, grab one, and run around shaking it. |
Panties!!! My Bryan loves panties... When I come out of the shower he comes in the bathroom and takes my panties and will run like hell..then he sits and chew then like a flossie... One day I went to work and had to use the bathroom as I'm pulling by britches up I notice that I can see the floor through little holes that were put there by my Bryan's little sharp teeth... |
Oh yes! I have a sock bandit too! Phantom hunts them down and finds them - don't ask me where, but he finds them! He also loves to play tug-o-war with his sister using them - so he has several of his "own" socks - but still manages to find mine. He also loves underwear - and I just recently lost a bra to those "jaws". |
1 Attachment(s) another sock bandit....guilty-or-proud? |
:)Lola LOVES socks! She can't resist them! |
Paper. Anything to do with paper, books, magazines... he's ON it. lol. Other than that, he's not a horrible chewer. But these past couple of days, his teeth have definitely been buggin' him. He's getting two or three teeth pulled next week so it should get better. |
My babies love those socks so much i bought them cute monkey and duckie ones. Just for them to throw around. Still I manage to find my daughters socks on the livingroom floor. She swears it's not her. haha |

You need to get video of Marley doing that!!! Sounds stinking hilarious!! I'd love to see it!!! If you have video...POST IT!! :p I just realized that My girls always find PENS....I am ALWAYS taking ink pens out of their mouths!! And what is really weird is I can NEVER find a pen...when I need one...but low and behold I will see one of them chewing on something...and it will be a PEN!!! They must have hid them all from me...and will bring one out every once in awhile to tease me!!! LOL |

HOW ADORABLE!!!! I can just see her prancing around with her letter in her mouth!! Too darling...the things we do to make our babies happy!! precious! |
Poppy is truely a SOCK MONSTER and a TISSUE RIPPER. she dives down houseguests handbags while we are not looking and pulls out the tissues and dashes off with them and rips them to shreds. For extra attention when we ar'nt making enough fuss of her she will go into the hall, pick up a shoe and trot past us, pausing so that we see, then dash into the garden with it. LITTLE MINX !!! LOL |
I have an underwear bandit here, Bella just loves female panties! |
Love this thread!! Bailey will pass up socks for nylons (knee highs). Yep, she has quite a stash. I had to borrow a couple from her collection earlier this week because all mine 'disappeared'. Okay, just kidding about borrowing - but if I leave my nylon drawer open just a little, she'll reach in and grab one, then run up & down the hall a few times - then she'll go get another one and repeat as necessary! :) |
I am so glad someone has posted this. My first dog was a Cairn Terrier, Barnabas and he used to always grab my work sock (thin blue knee highs) and run around with them until one day I confronted him and he ran. Just as I approached he rolled the sock up into a ball and SWALLOWED IT!!!! I was in a panic and took him to the vet - who stated, after an x-ray, it will come out one end or another....I waited 3 DAYSclosely monitoring everything going in and coming out until finally, I awoke to the sound of Barnabas Collins coughing up my police sock. Ever since that day, I have never let my dogs chew or play with any article of clothing. Well, three dogs later, I find my Jack Sparrow and his companion, Lily Rose (both shih tzus) both love socks. Jack will actually claw at my foot with his paws requesting to help me take off my socks when I come home from work. Don't know the logic of it, but, I thank him for helping me at the end of the day.....and give him piece of liverwurst as a reward. To this day, I still get worried when I find a sock that doesn't have a match, but have credited it to the legendary laundrymat burglar. |
Funny...there's a chart in the vet's office showing a dog who ate a sock and where it was when it had to be surgically removed. Barnabas was a lucky guy to get rid of it naturally. |

Bonnie sniffs DH's feet each night, wanting him to take his socks off. As soon as he does, Bonnie grabs it before it even hits the floor and takes off. I keep an unwashed pair of mine (I know, sounds nasty) in my closet floor, just so she can grab them and run off. She thinks she is really getting away with something. LOL |
Penny runs off with all kinds of things, socks, sponges, napkins, you name it. It is like she thinks, "Oh they left a new toy for me to play with!" :p I guess she thinks if it is left on her level, then it is a new toy for her. The other day I put a coffee maker at the office door to take out to the trash because it broke. A little while later I saw that she had chewed the plug off the cord! It was on the floor and that meant it was her new chew toy??? |
Oliver likes anything and EVERYTHING. Socks, tissues (which he has no issues pulling right out of the box), toilet paper, towels, FLOWER VASES (seriously, not joking lol), pens, candles... you get the idea. It has taken me a while to puppy proof, I had to go get him the day after I was accepted to adopt him and I had to work, so I didn't have much time. I also had forgotten how much a puppy can really get into, and that a 1 year old is still a puppy! I find if he's bored and not getting enough attention he will go on the hunt for anything and everything that he knows he shouldn't have, as "catch me if you can" is his favorite game ever.. He also loves my shoes, never chews them (and oddly enough, never touches anyone else's either, just mine) he just carries them around. |
Both Samson and Harley loves tissues. Harley loves bras and panties. if he gets into my adult daughters' room he is in hog heaven. |
I absolutely love this thread... :D As soon as anybody has their shoes off the sock "thief" appears. But, sometimes, she bits our toes... She pulls, and she tugs, relentlentlessly. Suzi ALWAYs gets our socks, than she kills our socks one at at time. ANd does it all over again with the other sock straight off our other foot, as soon as she sees them, their HERS! Suzi loves it wehn we use a paper towel on the floor, it belongs to her! She goes in for the kill, grabs it, and runs! The chase is on. She stops, we think we have the paper towel, then she runs again. Leaving pieces of paper towel trail behind her, it's always a messy game to her. She loves it. What a booger. What out to anybody with pockets! Suzi is a pick pocketer! Seriously that girl knows what she's doing! as soon as somebody sits on the couch she's in your pockets! Again looking for anything ! I have to place my purse up on the table or counters . It's prime target for Suzi. She takes reciepts out of their in a flash. And has been known to get a hold of TUMS . Suzi is qucick is lightning. And loves to play the cat and mosuse game. I feel like I am the CAt. She bolts. I swear she knows what she's doing! |

cash goes crazy over gloves, it could be the middle of the summer and i will find him with one that he must have been hiding since summer. |
My Laya hunts for anything that is not nailed down. And boy is she fast. If you drop something, it's gone. Then she runs around and won't drop it until she gets a treat. What a stinker! She brings me pens, paper, usually anything that she knows she shouldn't have. The other day she goes flying by with my wallet in her mouth!!! |
