Man threatened to throw my yorkie over a fence! Walking with my 3 dogs yesterday in a recreation ground and because of little conor (rescued yorkie) being deaf and has impaired sight I keep him on an extended lead. This chaps big black labrador ran up to conor. Conor is antaganistic towards other dogs but backs off at the last minute also he has many teeth missing so he couldnt bite anyone anyway. This lab pounced on conor aggressively, conor and lab, around my ankles, I thumped the lab to try to get him of conor. Chap had no control on his dog he ran up and called the dog off. Dog walked a short distance with his owner and decided to come back. his owner again had to come and fetch him. When this happened a third time, I shouted at him to hook his dog up on a lead. He then said on retrieving his dog, he wont hurt anyone. So I said he attacked my little dog. To which he replied." Your dog attacked mine first and if you hit my dog again I will pick up yours and throw it over the fence". I was livid. I am ringing the dog warden today to report an uncontrolled dog. |
This story makes me sooo mad!! You handled it the right way though. People are so mean. I am glad you and your dogs are OK. Conor sounds like alot like Marley lol. |
Ugh, I'm glad your pup is all right. Was the Lab unleashed? Was it an unleashed area? I think you should report that guy for making a threat like that. What an ass. |
Good for you defiantly report him . I get fed up with people that think their dog can do what they like and the owners taking no responsability for it. Your baby could have been really hurt and thats what turns nice dogs into frightened aggressive ones. |
I would be so pissed, omg I want to go kick his butt myself, what a f ker |
What an a**hole!!! How dare he make a threat like that! Good for you for reporting him. I'm glad you and Conor are ok xxx xx |
Some people can be real idiots. I'm glad your dog is OK. |
Yes, the threat was bad and I'm glad Conor is o.k. but I feel you need to take more and better responsibility for Conor. In your own words you said: Quote:

I'm glad your pup is all right. |
i wouldve told him exactly where my foot wouldve went also if he dog wouldve been on leash it wouldve never happened in the 1st place its his responsibility his ingorance isnt your problem and wouldve gotten a much harser response from me and many other people then it got from you!! |
I'm glad conor didn't get hurt. |

When I see a dog coming towards us I pull him in on a short tight lead and the fight was around my ankles!!. I hope the dog warden sees him this afternoon. I hope also I hear. |

But it is absolutely ridiculous what the man said to you, and completely unnecessary. I'm glad he's OK! |
oh god!!! you dont want to know what i would of done... !! |
What an idiot! I am so glad you are going to report him! You were lucky the big dog was friendly. If not, your little Conor could be killed. You are also lucky you weren't bitten. I always carry Muzzle (dog mace) now. I fractured my pelvis a couple of years ago trying to keep a big loose dog from attacking Lady. I will not physically try to stop a dog attack again, but just mace the dog. |

In the Uk we are not allowed to carry mace its illegal. Its classed as an offensive weapon!!!. |

Mace is also illegal in NY but this mace is specifically made for animals. I think its okay cuz if not they would not have shiiped it to me but I might be wrong. |
I am getting SO sick and tired of seeing unleashed dogs in my area, and it's always the BIG dogs. It's not fair to constantly have to bend over and pick my dog up every time a big dog is headed towards us unleashed. Yesterday, on our 50 min walk, I noticed at least 15 (maybe 20) big dogs off-leash. |
You handled the situation better than I would've. My mouth gets carried away when I'm protecting my family. I don't care what your babies' behaviors are...He was on a leash(short or long) and that idiots lab was not!! Keep us posted!!! We want to hear what the warden says! |

You took the words out of my mouth. (my mouth tends to get carried away too when I'm in those situations) Glad Conor is okay though! |
Fortunately, where I live, we have concealed carry laws. All I have to do in a situation like yours, is open my coat and say in a low and firm voice, "you can try". |

LMAO!!!!!! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: |
I would have given him the One Finger Salute! |
In your situation you had every right to defend yourself ! the lab was running loose, if he was thazt close to you, and you smaller yorkie you had every right to use force to get the dog away from you! Too bad the Other dog owner could not see it thta way... Than for it to happen two other times:mad: And for them man to make a threatening , remark to you , about your tiny dog? whay the hell? Id be LIVID! These are the times I would love to have a B/F or husband with me to take care of these type of idiots ... Give them a good shake down. Stupid people always are saying and doing the most stupid things. This is a perfect example. I am glad your Dog was unharmed and you were safe too. PLease , if you can, don't go walking alone with your dogs. I would take along either your husband if you are married, or B/f or a male friend, maybe brother, male cousin or a man just for safety purposes. |
Seriously, even if your little yorkie did "attack" that lab... what damage could he do?! He has missing teeth for cryin' out loud and is a heck of a lot smaller!!! That man is NUTS! Report him! |
