Oh Lord, please let it be nothing serious!! DH just called Gracie Ruth won't put any weight on her right rear leg and has been just laying on the couch all morning. I'm on my way home to get her and take her to Dr D's. They will work her into the schedule this afternoon. Please, ya'll, pray that it's just going to cost us a wad of money to find out it's nothing serious. She has never had problems with her knees, but I'm just so freakin' scare it may be an LP issue. Oh, my head is pounding and my heart is aching so bad right now!! I won't know anything until later this afternoon and my work schedule is packed with meetings today...wouldn't you know! I'll update as soon as I can but it may not be until later this afternoon. Oh, please don't let it be anything serious. :( |
Oh no! You and Gracie Ruth are in my prayers!! I sure hope it's not another LP baby. Did she do anything this weekend that might have made her sore, or pulled a muscle? Sending lots of hugs and best wishes your way! I'll check back in on her later today. |
I hope all is ok. Maybe she has a sticker or something in her paw. Hopefully nothing too serious! Prayers for it to be nothing major coming your way. :hands: |
Im keeping Gracie Ruth in my good thoughts and prayers |
oh no teresa!!! i can only imagine how scared you are right now!!! prayers that it is nothing requiring surgery or anything like that!!!! maybe she just sprained it a little and just needs to rest it. please please let this be the case! :( i think you still have my cell number. call if you need ANYTHING even a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to. |
Sending thoughts and prayers that your baby is okay. Good luck!! |
i hope everything is okay! sending positive vibes your way and prayers up. |
Praying that Gracie Ruth's little leg is all right. Hopefully it's just a slight strain or something so she's resting it. |
Teresa, OMG, whats going on....Not Gracie. Pepper is having surgery right now for an infection after she was spayed last monday...I hope Gracie will be fine. |
keeping you both in my prayers.. I know just how scared you are... |
My thoughts and prayers are with Gracie Ruth. |
Bently had started limping and holding up his back leg a couple of weeks ago. I took him to a vet and he was diagnosed as having LP stage 2. I put him on a supplement with Glucosamine and Cosequin that is beef flavored (got it from Wag and Wash). I can't remember the name of it, but I tried the liquid form first and he refused to eat with it on the food. He loves the beef flavored chew. We give it to him once a day at lunch and he is doing great. After only a couple of weeks he doesn't limp at all. Good luck with your furbaby. john |
I'll keep your baby in my prayers. |
I hope and pray it's nothing serious! Let's just hope she jumped on it wrong and sprained it or something! |
Hope it's nothing serious! |
:xfingers: fingers crossed for little GR. |
Update **UPDATE**Heard from Dr D. He thinks it's probably just a bad sprain, and will be sending her home with some pain meds and she has to stay quiet for 2 weeks.:eek: That won't be easy. :p But he said it could possibly be a partially torn ACL, that could heal on it's own or tear complete. We are going to watch her closely and if she has another limping episode after her 2 week confinement then we'll go in for xrays and take a closer look. So, all-in-all, not too bad of a diagnosis. The 2 week, no dog park or walkies will be tough on her. But I can take her places and we can still do things, just no exertion. Oh, and Dr D was having a staff meeting when I dropped G off and the nurse just took her on back to the meeting with her. Dr D said G had a great time being passed around, hugged and kissed on. Thank you all so much for your ready support and quick prayers. I just love this place. :D |
oh Im so glad its nothing major! I'll keep praying that shes back to her usual antics in 2 weeks with no problems! Poor baby though, she'll love being carried around for 2 weeks Im sure. My Dexter would have all 4 of his legs amputated if it meant mommy would carry him around everywhere! LOL |
That's wonderful news!!! :) |
I will be thinking of your Gracie Ruth and hope the two-week confinement will do the trick. |
Adding a prayer for Gracie Ruth. May her injury be slight and easily mended. Take care and try not to worry too much. Think positive! |

So glad Gracie Ruth is ok! I will keep praying that that ACL is not or does not tear. That's a bad deal. I know it's hard (good lord do I know) but PLEASE just keep her quiet. In a crate when you can't hold her and on a leash when she's out. The two weeks will be nothing and hopefully will prevent further injury/surgery. Poor girly! Give that little doll tons of hugs and kisses from me and my boys! |
You can do a 2 week rest period, we are on our tenth week over here. I'm just glad it wasn't anything too serious. Sounds like you've got a great vet  |
Thank goodness it was nothing real serious. I hope everything heals well with Gracie Ruth. |
Glad it's nothing serious.. |
Oh what a scare!!! So glad to hear that Gracie is going to be ok!!!! :D |
I just seen your thread and I'm so glad it's not surgery! I know 2 weeks rest seems hard, but I know you love your baby enough to make sure it's done. I agree that it sounds like you have a wonderful vet. You have someone looking out for you :) ((((Hugs)))) To Gracie Ruth and well wishes! |
Oh what a scare you've had! I'm glad Gracie Ruth is going to be OK!! |
Hope that she does well...... and you are able to keep her confined for awhile so she can heal........... Scoot over Tatum and Shelby....Gracie Ruth is joining you in PUPPY JAIL!!!!:eek::eek: ;) |
So glad to hear it's nothing too serious!!! What a relief!!! |
