I didn't contact the breeder, the link would not work for me. If had I would have used my own name (I am pretty gutsy that way).

We just noticed (4-11-09) that there was a pictures of a little Yorkie for sale on your site that had a zip lock around the puppies neck. This is very dangerous and I would consider the puppy in great danger and would label it as abuse and cruelty. Please provide information of the poster so that this matter can be corrected, if not, will reports your site.

I'm curious as to how they can e-mail from your account? You have to sign into your account with your pw before you can send mail? That's just not right. If the ad was deleted from most of us to view then how did anyone even get this breeders e-mail address?

You do have to have a Puppyfind account (I think..) BUT - when you go to an ad and click on "contact seller" - the form will actually let you TYPE IN an e-mail address....so they obviously took out theirs and typed in mine. Now, how did they KNOW my e-mail address? I have no idea. As I said, only a handful of people here have my personal e-mail address....so it really makes me wonder. :rolleyes:

The ad actually was not ever deleted. I posted the link to the ad here but it never worked. For some reason when you click on here from here (YT) it says that the ad has been deleted, when in fact it hasn't. It is still up because I just went to it this morning directly from Puppyfind.

Also, you don't have to know the breeder's e-mail address. You just contact them directly through Puppyfind.

Do you have people here that have your personal email addy? It HAS to be someone you know. It sounds near impossible for someone you never associated with to get that information.
I would really like to know though why they felt they had to use your info rather than their own.

It's not like I expected anyone to. :rolleyes: You know, I am never rude to anyone on this site, but I have to say, this whole thing about someone e-mailing the breeder and posing as ME really ticks me off. Whoever did this had no right. It's not that I don't appreciate everyones concern over this poor little puppy, but if I wanted to e-mail the breeder and question her, I would have done it myself. I do not need anyone to do it for me. Much less, do it behind my back, "secretly pretending" to be ME.

This is a perfect example of why I am always *SO* cautious as to what I post on this site. Not only this site, but on the internet in general. I get people PM'ing me constantly asking me about who my babies breeders are, and I never even answer them because I don't know what their intentions are, and I feel bad about that - but it's things like THIS that ruin it for others. And some people that ask me are people that I talk to on here fairly regularly - or at least on threads. But ya know, whoever did this OBVIOUSLY knew my personal e-mail address, and only a handful of people on this site actually have it - so it really makes me wonder. Who can you trust and who CAN'T you trust? Frankly, I am SO SICK of feeling that way.

It's not like this was some HUGE deal or anything - it wasn't. Because honestly, I was probably going to end up e-mailing the breeder anyway. But I really do not appreciate someone going behind my back and posing as ME. I am getting so sick of all this "sneakiness". Some of you remember and those of you whom are newer here wouldn't even know about it, but those that DO know, you remember what happened with Tatum's breeder (just another reason why I never give out her breeder's info to ANYONE anymore :rolleyes:)...and it just seems like there is constantly someone that has to be "sneaky" when I post things.....it is always something.....and I'm SICK of it!

I'm sorry, I am usually not a rude person at all, but frankly I am getting very sick and tired of some of this stuff. I HATE the "going behind people's back" crap.....I DON'T appreciate it. I appreciate the concern with the puppy, and I am concerned as well which is why I started this thread to begin with, but if whomever did this was personally concerned with it, then they should have e-mailed the breeder using their OWN e-mail address. I should have been left out of it unless I chose to get in it myself.

Anyway :rolleyes: I have bigger things to worry about right now, like my OWN dog who just went through major surgery. I don't need this headache right now. This is just so stupid.

I just want to apologize to Admin. I do NOT like being a trouble starter, and I swear that was *never* my intention with this thread. I know that Admin (and the mods) have plenty enough work to do around here without having to go around closing threads. :( I am sorry that it came to this and wish like heck that it never would of.

I started this thread because I felt sorry for the little puppy with a zip tie around it's neck. I never knew that someone would go and e-mail the breeder behind my back, posing as me. That is something that is personal (when *my* e-mail address is being used) and it should of never been done.

Again, Admin....my apologies. I am so sorry that you had to come and see all this MESS on Easter Sunday. :(

What the hell?! In what world would a ZIP TIE be a good idea to use on a puppy?! Puppys are ALWAYS putting things in their mouth, so what happens if a littlemate decides to play tug-of-war on the zip ties?! If it tightens, it will suffocate the baby! I'm just disgusted!

Stedmansmommy, I am so sorry this happened to you. I understand you were just concerned about that puppy. When I tried to go on the link it said deleated so I didn't see it there. This is very weird though. I don't understand why someone would use your e mail address. It's not a big deal to ask the breeder about the zip ties. It's just wrong. Why would'nt the person use their own contact info. I probably would have e mailed her myself if I even knew how. (i'm not so computer savy) I just don't get it. It was just a genuine concern not an attack of some kind. Anyway I hope this breeder stops using this type of system, it's just trouble looking for a place to happen. Thank you for caring enough about this puppy to say something.

Ok sorry i just HAVE To comment.. I am so angry!! i have been watching this thread, however it blows my mind someone would pose as stedmans mom... AND give out her personal email.. Sorry but i would be MORE then upset.. To Stedmans Moms:

Dont worry - you have every right to be upset. Someone you obviously trusted, gave out your personal info. I just have to think- this breeder might have gotten upset and this could have turned out very differently. From what i hear the breeder was pretty nice about it, but you could have had someone harassing you in your private email. The worst part is, you dont know who it was!!

You shouldn't have to apologize for being angry at someone using your email and posing as you. Identity theft is a serious issue. I would be mad too. This happened to me and someone used my email address for a "questionable" site at work. I almost got in trouble, till we found out some "pervert" was using my email address and I had to prove that it was used it on a day when I wasn't even in the office.

I cannot imagine how violated I would feel if someone did this to me. But ... HOW??? is my question. How could someone send an email and make it look like it was from you. I mean aside from having Penelope Garcia (Criminal Minds show computer whiz) skills, how could you do that? Are you sure it was done or did this breeder just tell you that? Is it possible she reads YT and just saw your posts and was calling them emails? I know I have gotten bent out of shape over heresay at times and then found out later it was all a misunderstanding or info repeated incorrectly. Is that a possibility?

I just don't get what anyone could possibly have gotten out of posing as you to complain to this woman. I mean, they could have easily made up a name or address if they wanted to remain anonymous. I hope that it winds up being a miscommunication thing. I would hate to think one of your trusted YT friends had stolen your identity to do this.

Brooke, I shouldn't be amazed and yet I am! What was someone thinking to use your identity?!?! Especially on something like this! Like you said, if you wanted to contact this person you would have done it YOURSELF. I don't blame you one bit for being furious! I hope you can discover who did this.

As to the original post, I'm horrified that anyone would put that around a living creature's neck! I feel so sad for that breeder's puppies. I tried the link you posted and got the deleted message, too. That's probably for the best that I don't know who/where this breeder is!

What a joke! I would be seriously ticked off if I were you. NOONE has the right to use your personal info as their own.

About the puppy...I am just shaking my head. How can anyone be so stupid as to do that. All it takes is for another puppy to grab the end of that ziptie (which is SO invitingly sticking straight out) and pull, then that little puppies life may be over. I don't agree with putting anything around Yorkies necks, but I'd sure rather a piece of yarn be used then a ziptie!

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to call any one out on the yarn. I assume you're using the yarn for newborns. If it works for you, go for it. :) I know you would never do anything to hurt your little ones. It's just that I've heard of so many accidental fatalities with babies, from heating pads, to bedding, to blind cords etc.. I just worry about them getting a foot caught and choking or another baby dragging it around by the neck, or Mom trying to chew the yarn off the baby's neck.
I guess I've been doing this for so long, I don't weigh them any more as newborns. I look them over real close and I can tell if they're gaining weight, or if they look a little gant.
I microchip at about 8 weeks old, so a microchip would have been less dangerous to that older pup than anything around the neck, especially a zip tie!!
To StedmansMommy.. Geesh, All I can say is, I'm sorry that someone posed as you! How evil was that?? I am so shocked, I'm speechless! At any rate, I'm glad you started this thread, as you may have saved a puppy's life by someone reading how dangerous a zip tie could be!!
