Wish me luck I don't think I can wait any longer not knowing if I can have a yorkie in my apartment or not. I have to ask my landlord. I think I will write an email tonight. Wish me luck. Background info: I don't have a yorkie, but want one. My landlord doesn't usually allow us to have any pet at our apartment but she is a yorkie owner. |
[SIZE=4]GOOD LUCK |
I have been working on email over an hour now.. so tough to ask. |
Oh my god! It's sent! ... nervous nervous. |
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Like you, I never knew how wonderful these little guys were till I got one - or my husband got one, I should say. Now, I can't imagine life without a Yorkie. So, good luck with your landlord - surely he/she will see that you should have a Yorkie. However, he/she might think if you are allowed to have a pet, then everyone will have to be allowed and that may not work. Do you have the option to move if you get bad news? Just a thought, since you seem very committed to getting a Yorkie. :) |
Wishing you lotsa luck! :D |
This is what I said in the email. Oh my god!!! I am so nervous!!! I hope I get a good response. My lease is until end of next August. So .. it is kinda tough.. but.. if I cannot have a dog here, I think I can consider moving..:) "The other thing is about pet. On the lease it says, "Lessee shall keep no domestic or other animals on or about the leased premises without the written consent of Lessor." I am thinking about getting a yorkshire terrier in the future and wanted to see if you would allow me to keep a yorkie at the apartment. I am not considering any other dogs or pets other than a yorkshire terrier, and I am planning to take time to do more research on yorkie and carefully choose the dog if I get a permission from you. I remember that you have a lovely yorkie yourself, and I also would like to hear your experience with your dog too. I don't have any family in US and sometimes get very lonely, and I would love a companion. So please let me know." |
Good luck, Michiko, that is a very heartful and nice letter, if your landlord has one, perhaps they will relax the rules for you. :) |
Good luck. Hopefully since your landlord owns one, they will allow you to have one. It is good that you ask before getting your baby. The letter was fine. Once again Good luck. |
Now I am depressed My landlord said NO :( I guess she allowed a tenant to have a dog before and they got complaints from unfriendly neighbor. And since Yorkie usually loves to bark and I work for full time, she said no. Very sad. By the way she lost her yorkie two weeks ago.. I feel so bad. Then I sent .. really... depressing email. I guess I am so desperate... :( I wish she could change her mind. "Thank you for the email again. I am really sorry about your loss of your yorkie. I remember she was so cute and was hoping to see her again. I know that yorkies usually love to bark. My colleague's dog often barks too, but he never barks when I watch him at work. I think I give him a lot of attention as you always have for your yokie. My colleague always gets curious why dogs don't bark around me. They just need a lot of love. It's too bad that you have a bad experience with an other tenant having a dog. I know that neighbors can be difficult, but I am pretty good dealing with them. I thought they have a dog too, don't they? Since I don't have any family in US, I sometimes have difficult times in life, and this yorkie I met gave me a lot of joy and comfort. I like dogs in general, but I feel that yorkie's character is somehow very similar to me. I was going to take a couple months more at least to do more research on the breed before getting one and make careful decision. First thing I had to do was to ask you. I also cannot change my work for at least a couple years due to my immigration status because they are sponsoring me. Oh my my! I know I feel like I am still trying so hard to convince you. I really should stop.. but I cannot help it. I wish you can give me a chance since I have been staying there for awhile. Plus I wouldn't be getting a dog until next Spring or so, not any time soon. You can also tell me if things don't work out with me having a dog, you can always let me know. I understand that you don't want any tenants to have a dog. But in any reasons :), if you change your mind and would like to give me a chance, let me know. By the way.. have you received the water bill? I just want to make sure things are back in normal." Michiko " |
I am so sorry!!!!! I know how you feel i tried to hide Gracie in my apartment and I got caught....so Gracie had to stay with my parents....then I eventually moved...can you move??? How long is your lease etc |
That has been a problem with us. Finding an afordable apartment that will accept dogs.. I have to save up for the deposit because everyone I have found the pet deposit has been 300.00 or more. that is not even including the regular deposit. |
I am more depressed than I thought I would be by listening to the bad news. I am crying like a baby.. I am just so disappointed. I am 29 yr old. I cannot get married right now with a personal reason, which means I cannot have a child... I have no family but my boyfriend and a couple friends. I cannot even have a dog who can be my companion... so sad.. I was so excited to look for one... and this is.. so depressing. My lease just started and til end of next August. I have lived here 4 years and didn't want to live any time soon. But... I guess there would be time soon. I hope hope my landlord gives me a chance.. :( |
I\'m sorry about the disappointing news. You can get someone to sublease your place and take over your lease, at which point you can move to a place that allows pets. I had to do that for Coco. I moved from one city to another. I hope your second email does the trick. |
Sorry about your landlady saying no. "Sometimes it\'s easier to ask for forgiveness, than it is to ask for permission." I also live in a apartment and 3 years ago asked my landlady who said "NO" Well, that kinda pissed me off since about 4 of the tenants have multiple cats. I let that Yorkie slip past me and when I was asked again if I wanted a Yorkie I said "Absolutely." She still doesn\'t know and I am actually looking for a new place now. I would just as soon find one before she asks me to leave. I\'ve had him for 8 months and wouldn\'t trade him for anything. |
