Oh, I got him a new Kong too in the red this time. |
Tucker is a chewer, but a picky chewer..lol.. Ive tried the nylabones (didnt no they were bad??) and the kongs and he didnt like either. Ive done the bully sticks but they make both of my little dogs have diareah. I normally buy the smaller pig ears and the cow hooves from my local feedstore. They love them, they chew on them for days and they dont have stomach issues with them. Im going to look in the soup bones and check out that link that was posted. :) I used to buy rawhide for my toy poodle when she was a pup BEFORE I knew how bad they were.I stopped giving them to her becaus of an incident that we had with her... she hadnt had a good poo in several days, I had noticed that she wasnt eating as much. I thought she was consitpated and I was getting ready to call the vets to have her look at when she had a big poo and just about the whole thing was a waded up rawhide mess. It must of been stuck in her intestines. She could of ended up pretty sick :( |

I use a small family owned one but I know Petco & Petsmart carry them. Probably any pet store will, it's the size that's hard to find. |
Baxter has destroyed anything that is made for a dog to chew! He just gets totally wild. and I have to watch him like a hawk, and when I think it is getting to dangerious and go to take it from him he runs away. I hate him thinking that I am going to take everything away from him. The only things that have seemed to work with him is (1) everlasting treat ball. somehow he has not managed to chew through this ball. and (2) hymalian dog chew. These are all natural dog bones made of yaks milk and lime. It sounds terrible but he absolutely loves it. He can chew as aggressivly as he wants, and only gets little scrapings off, which desolve in his mouth. They were make originally for the hymaliam farmers to have in their mouths in the fields. I usually buy the big one, and it will last him about a month. Good luck finding stuff for your furbaby to chew on. |

PetEdge: Ranch Rewards Sterilized Natural Bones |
This looks like it is what I got Reggie today only mine is 2-3" long unlike the photo. Merrick Pet Foods - Dog Treats I sure hope the beef jerky that is on the outside doesn't cause any tummy issues because he is working away at it right now. |

Himalayan Chew Sticks I found the perfect chew sticks for Violet. They are called Himalayan Chew sticks. Check out: Himalayan Dog Chew - 100% Natural. Authentic. No Preservatives. An Everest Sized Treat They are made of solidified cheese, all natural, no preservatives. Violet is an avid chewer and she can chew on these for hours (if I let her). They come off in tiny shaving. The stay hard, to not yet mucky, or mess up her face and cheek hairs. You will love these! |
Ok so I got one of those filled bones and was gonna take the gook out and as I was cleaning it, I noticed I could chip off skinny little shavings. Is this normal? It did NOT say sterilized bone on it, just gave ingredients of the stuff inside. It kinda made me nervous since I could easily chip it off with my finger nails and it was all over the bone in many layers. I'm throwing it out and looking for a small one that says sterlized on it w/ out the weird filling inside. I want the Himilayan chew badly, but the place that has it is 45 min away so will have to go when I'm on that side. |
Sounds like you got the same thing I bought today. If you look at the link I posted it says Quote:

This is what I ended up getting tonight and Snick seems to love it... Product Carol and or anyone...if you think this might be dangerous...let me know. It is a sterilized all natural bone and is so nice and clean with no flaking or weird filling, Snick loves it even though it is a bit big for him...they say they slow roasted it and it won't splinter. Plus they are a local MI company so hey, why not help out my own crappy economy right!? |
So these actually look pretty much like rawhides but the packaging says natural bone, right? I think I have seen ones that say something like natural bone rawhide chew. Is that different? |
Here's a pic of the ones I've seen at the pet store. These are shown filled and you can get them without filling as well. http://www.concordpetfoods.com/images/products/62.gif |
