ooppss, forgot. As far as selling all pups on full registration? hmmmm why? Clearly not every pup in a litter are the same. Some are close to the standard, others, not so. Because I was a breeder in confirmation, I never allowed full registration, UNLESS it was a true show person and that I knew they were. And only if I had a pup that met that standard. Most of my pups are sold on limited registration. Why? Because if my pups are showing undesirable traits, why would I want them bred? That's not bettering the breed. Also a spay/neuter contract. I went even a little further by giving buyers back 50.00 when they showed proof by a vet that the dog was altered/spayed. I tried incentitives to make it more desirable for the buyer to think, hmmm, can't register a litter, and I'll get 50.00 back. It worked well for me. After all, people love the fact that they wil get 50.00 back. It is sad but money back seems to talk. I have also been known to co-own a show pup to make sure that they were never bred until 2 years of age. OFA will not give you a final reading of hips until the age of 2. Prelimanary readings, is a no go. One of my Goldens had a preliminary at 12 months. OFA good. At 2 years she came back borderline. It is another way of me making sure the bitch is fully tested before breeding so as not to produce pups with future issues. Breeding is a full time job and very expensive for hobbyist breeders. And IMHO, a breeder who say's they never made a dime off their breedings? well ummmmm, is all I can say. Happy puppy day everyone!!!! Carol and Jemma |
NO there are way to many unwanted dogs out there euthanized daily to be mixing breeds on purpose! if you have any doubts go work at a local shelter or vet office for awhile and see it yourself and hold them while they are being euthanized just for being unwanted and your mind will be quicly changed then! espicaaly now with the bad economy people are dumping abandoning dogs and cats left and right! sorry but i see it wayyyyy to much !! |

This is going to sound harsh, BUT you cannot control how many pups will be conceived and you cannot control how they will live out their lives. You cannot prevent them from ending up in shelters along with the thousands of other dogs that are out there stuck in shelters and abandoned there. If you really want a yorkie-poo..please rescue one. It needs forever home. Please look for the thread here on YT called HOW COULD YOU? Hopefully it will change your mind. |
