Tati is super picky, she won't eat unflavored chips or crackers, or plain bread, but give her yogurt and she goes nuts for it... Bella surprised us when our African Grey walked away from his veggie supper, all raw vegetables like broccoli, asparagus, carrots, lima beans, red and yellow bell peppers, and Bella helped herself to his plate finishing everything but the carrots! |

Dog Food as a Treat My furkids & furbabies all think Moist & Meaty chunked food is a treat. We had been paying $13 for a 12oz package of treats. Then once when I couldn't make to the health food store for the treats & purchased the dog food that comes in the litttle celephane packages...any way they ALL think it's the best thing. For us it was shocking to see them all go nuts over it and at under $5 for 4lbs they have treats alllllll the time :D |
The strangest thing Silvia has eaten would be raw broccoli. I dropped some one night and she got to it before I could get it and then she did a little dance like when she gets a treat, so she must have liked it! She rarely gets people food, but every once-in-awhile, I will let her have a tiny piece of what I'm eating if she looks pitiful enough (). She loves strawberries, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, cheese and, of all things.....ketchup! OH!!! Sometimes we take her to Sonic with us and she goes insane when she realizes where we are, because she LOVES milkshakes!!! She just shakes with excitement when she sees a Sonic cup! :D |
(didn't realize you couldn't edit after five minutes) I just realized you started the thread thinking of weird things....... On the weird things she's eaten, I have no proof.....but I think she's eating puked-up cat hairballs! YUCK! I will hear a cat hacking, go to inspect and see a puke-ball on the floor, go to get tissue, and come back to Silvia standing nearby licking her lips! :sickie: (Makes me gag just thinking about it) |
Well, I found some bird legs in my house. Dont know what happened to the body..Yuk... |
I can't keep Bella away from eating bird seed. She tries best she can to hang out under their cages. |
Apple sponge and cream (just a teaspoon full) macaroni cheese and pumpkin with mash potato and of course his treats which he'd eat all the time if he could. |

Meg's favorite non-food items to eat include Q-tips (the cotton at the ends), packing tape and cardboard boxes, and paper. She sure keeps me on my toes!!! Just when I think the house is completely puppy-proofed, I will find a Q-tip that didn't make it into the trash or a new package will arrive in the mail. <sigh> Funny food items she eats include... occasionally strawberries and Asian pears, spaghetti smothered in cheese, cheddar and parmesan cheese, and... I think that's probably about it! She is crazy about cooked carrots. I boil them in chicken broth, then freeze them individually so I can give them as treats without worrying about them spoiling right away. |
With my 14 month old son in the house, Oscar has tried alot of table food! His favorites are bananas and cheerios. I actually used to give him bananas all the time when he was a puppy until he got sick of them. |
Grapes cause Renal failure. I looked it up when Tucker accidently ate one. My husband dropped it. I asked what he was munching on. When he told me I looked it up. I , then, called the emergency vet. He said it wouldn't hurt him since he had eaten only one. But, they are toxic. |
Hot italian sausages. I had one the other day with a bbq and after so long ignoring her whining I finally gave in and gave her a tiny piece thinking she would just drop it. She LOVED it. |
Suzi also likes to eat dropped bird seeds from our cockeitels ! I found a half eaten carrot on my bed one day too... I asked my son , were you eating a carrot? He said yeah, He dropped it, and Suzi ate a bit of the rest of it too, and must of enjoyed herself. That was the first time she had one , LOL . She also love Ice cubes. Paper towels, Any paper products, she loves to pick pocket people as soon as anybody sits on the couch. I have to be very careful, because she goes for TUMS every time. I have no idea why? Darn it! We have to watch it because she is bad about gum too. The neighbors have a little girl who spits gum out, and Suzi is fast as lightning, with gum. We have had to pry it out of her mouth. None of us chew the sugarless kind, but I do not know about anybody else. |
