What do your furbabies eat but... What do your furbabies eat, but you never though that he/she would even like at all, and it caught you by surprise? My furbaies today had cotton candy for the first time today, and lord behold, they tored that stuff up, I was laughing so hard at them, because it was so cute to see them chew on the cotton candy then they kepted sticking their little tongue's out for me too give them more of it......... they really enjoyed it,and they had alot of water at the end. |
i offered green bell peppers off of the pizza thinking they would turn their noses up...NOT! They LOVE IT!!! Now they expect all the bell peppers off of my piece whenever we order in pizza! |
I haven't given Tobie any people food yet but my other 2 dogs love raw spaghetti! I was making spaghetti one day and a few pieces fell on the floor and they snatched them up. Now I always give them a piece every time I make spaghetti. Crazy dogs :) |
blueberry muffin :p poppy in the last hour has just tried a tiny piece of blueberry muffin  and she loved it , i would never have expected that :aimeeyork love jill n poppy xx |
Gizmo also loves blueberry muffin. i found this out when i was in the car with my sister n she dropped a piece of her muffin n Gizmo ran to it and ate it, he then climbed on her n tired to go in her mouth to get some more.lolz my sister was going crazy. |
Whenever I make home-made (not Bisquick! But rather my great-grandmother's recipe.) dumplings and chicken, Molly loves to eat dumplings as well. Guess she knows what's good too! lol :2puppy: :) |

Genghis isn't picky, but I was shocked to see that he LOVES Science Diet for puppies. He didn't want to wait till we got it out of the bag he wanted it in the car before we got home!! |
Oh....lol this is funny...cuz I was thinking of things they shouldn't eat....like pine cones....and sticks! Which I'm constantly taking out of their mouths!!! My Daizy LOVES pistachios... I had to look it up.....to see if it was safe....and nuts really aren't something dogs should have.....however pistachio's are ok..if given in small amounts! She just goes CRAZY when she smells them anywhere!! And Tulip loves Veggies! But I only give her raw pieces...they both also really like raw piece of potato! They stand up on two legs..apparently trying to see what I'm peeling... I just LOVE it....it's so stinking cute!!! I ALWAYS look up any new food....to make sure it's safe for them ...before I give it.... My sister fed her baby GRAPES...before she knew they were dangerous....luckily Sophie was just fine! |
Bailey LOVES tomatoes! Its soo cute to watch her gobble them down... she turns into a maniac when we pull out a fresh slice of tomatoe! |
I get so afraid of posting in this thread cause i feel someone will take offense and start yelling at me...but i give mine strawberries, and grapes and a few bites of cereal from time to time;) shhhhhhh |

Please please stop feeding your baby grapes!! They are very toxic to dogs! Take a look at the list of dangerous foods in the yorkie health and diet section! It is very useful! :D Also - Dogs can become diabetic too, so try not to give your dog things with a lot of sugar (cotton candy .. yikes!) :) |
Tati is super picky, she won't eat unflavored chips or crackers, or plain bread, but give her yogurt and she goes nuts for it... Bella surprised us when our African Grey walked away from his veggie supper, all raw vegetables like broccoli, asparagus, carrots, lima beans, red and yellow bell peppers, and Bella helped herself to his plate finishing everything but the carrots! |

Dog Food as a Treat My furkids & furbabies all think Moist & Meaty chunked food is a treat. We had been paying $13 for a 12oz package of treats. Then once when I couldn't make to the health food store for the treats & purchased the dog food that comes in the litttle celephane packages...any way they ALL think it's the best thing. For us it was shocking to see them all go nuts over it and at under $5 for 4lbs they have treats alllllll the time :D |
The strangest thing Silvia has eaten would be raw broccoli. I dropped some one night and she got to it before I could get it and then she did a little dance like when she gets a treat, so she must have liked it! She rarely gets people food, but every once-in-awhile, I will let her have a tiny piece of what I'm eating if she looks pitiful enough (). She loves strawberries, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, cheese and, of all things.....ketchup! OH!!! Sometimes we take her to Sonic with us and she goes insane when she realizes where we are, because she LOVES milkshakes!!! She just shakes with excitement when she sees a Sonic cup! :D |
(didn't realize you couldn't edit after five minutes) I just realized you started the thread thinking of weird things....... On the weird things she's eaten, I have no proof.....but I think she's eating puked-up cat hairballs! YUCK! I will hear a cat hacking, go to inspect and see a puke-ball on the floor, go to get tissue, and come back to Silvia standing nearby licking her lips! :sickie: (Makes me gag just thinking about it) |
Well, I found some bird legs in my house. Dont know what happened to the body..Yuk... |
I can't keep Bella away from eating bird seed. She tries best she can to hang out under their cages. |
Apple sponge and cream (just a teaspoon full) macaroni cheese and pumpkin with mash potato and of course his treats which he'd eat all the time if he could. |

Meg's favorite non-food items to eat include Q-tips (the cotton at the ends), packing tape and cardboard boxes, and paper. She sure keeps me on my toes!!! Just when I think the house is completely puppy-proofed, I will find a Q-tip that didn't make it into the trash or a new package will arrive in the mail. <sigh> Funny food items she eats include... occasionally strawberries and Asian pears, spaghetti smothered in cheese, cheddar and parmesan cheese, and... I think that's probably about it! She is crazy about cooked carrots. I boil them in chicken broth, then freeze them individually so I can give them as treats without worrying about them spoiling right away. |
With my 14 month old son in the house, Oscar has tried alot of table food! His favorites are bananas and cheerios. I actually used to give him bananas all the time when he was a puppy until he got sick of them. |
Grapes cause Renal failure. I looked it up when Tucker accidently ate one. My husband dropped it. I asked what he was munching on. When he told me I looked it up. I , then, called the emergency vet. He said it wouldn't hurt him since he had eaten only one. But, they are toxic. |
Hot italian sausages. I had one the other day with a bbq and after so long ignoring her whining I finally gave in and gave her a tiny piece thinking she would just drop it. She LOVED it. |
Suzi also likes to eat dropped bird seeds from our cockeitels ! I found a half eaten carrot on my bed one day too... I asked my son , were you eating a carrot? He said yeah, He dropped it, and Suzi ate a bit of the rest of it too, and must of enjoyed herself. That was the first time she had one , LOL . She also love Ice cubes. Paper towels, Any paper products, she loves to pick pocket people as soon as anybody sits on the couch. I have to be very careful, because she goes for TUMS every time. I have no idea why? Darn it! We have to watch it because she is bad about gum too. The neighbors have a little girl who spits gum out, and Suzi is fast as lightning, with gum. We have had to pry it out of her mouth. None of us chew the sugarless kind, but I do not know about anybody else. |
