I cant say DADDY without them going crazy! If i say it, and hes not home, they run all around the house sniffing, and eventually barking looking for him! Its so cute!!! :) |

Words don't really get Riot in a tizzy yet, but all you have to do is touch the handle on the door to the spare room (it's usually closed) and he goes crazy! The spare room leads to the deck and backyard, which we only go out on special days because it needs lots of puppy proofing and there's still snow so I can't get out and do it all. |
Couver is 6 months, and the only word that sets him off is "outside" said in any tone of voice. He freaks out. When I say it as a question, he starts barking and scratching his back legs into whatever he's standing on. It's cute! |
Just the words "wanna treat" make him go nuts. Also "you wanna go bye bye" sends him into a tizzy.:) |
I'm cheating a bit since they are phrases. My boyfriend (annoyingly) taught him "who's there?" and he goes ballistic. Also, he's crazy for "want to go for a walk?" and "do you want a treat?". |
Sam's list of words are.... Squirrels (even tho my niece insists its how we say it and not the word itself, she is tryin it out with monkeys) Boogers (windshield wipers) Ice Cream Nana Jessica, Nessie, Jess (he loves my niece , the same as mentioned above) Go But his all time fave phrase is... C'mon boys get in the crate! He knows that means Martin and Charlie are goin in the crate and he is going to the store!! I can say it loud or whisper, either way, he starts jumpin and turnin in circles. He runs to every room in the house tryin to get everyone to the door so we can go and God forbid, if you need to use the bathroom before we leave. He will run into the bathroom and jump up at you like he is going to bite you or something and then takes off like lightening. |
Who's Here? Want some? Let's Go! Tim's Here! Bus is here ! Time to get Up! Let's Play! Go For A Walk! Cracker! Wheres the Birdie? Who's A good Girl? Want A Treat? |
I am so happy to read here that this is a Yorkie thing, or else a terrier thing. I have never had a Yorkie or a terrier before, and didn't know if it was just my dog being crazy, or a breed "thing". Sounds as if it's the breed... Mojo's key words are: Toy Ball Walk Go Treat Eat Daddy's home Daddy's going to work Bed If I say any of the above words, he goes nuts. He is the sweetest little dog in the word but if you mention toy, ball, walk, or go, his eyes glaze over and he goes insane. He is the most obsessive dog I've ever seen in my life. I have to keep his toys put away or else he becomes the most obnoxious dog in the world, wanting you to play fetch with him. He is extremely pushy, and will jump on you roughly trying to force you to play. He'll grab your shirt, your pants, your finger, whatever, and FORCE you to play, long after you're tired out. Needless to say, toys are special and I only let him have them for an hour or two at a time. I have never seen a dog so OCD in my life!! Don't get me wrong, he's totally precious, but very OCD. :D |
Are you ready for a "SNACK". She is our little piggy. |
We have a few words that get our girls going... The first one is Bicket....(my slang for biscuit) Both girls ears go straight up and off they run to the kitchen..jumping up and down...and Daizy does this walking on her hind legs...trying to see the bicket on the counter...lol Another is BYE BYE...ofcourse..meaning we're getting ready to leave... My favorite one is "Daddy's home"...that one mostly gets TULIP Frantic.... and the last one is more of a phrase..."go for walk"....that gets them running all over the house...trying to figure out which door we plan on "walking" out of...they love trekking thru the woods...and going on hikes! So we are very careful ever saying that word...unless we are GOING soon! |
"Here's Daddy" ... or "Where's Daddy?" = instant madness. |
My dog's two favorite words are treats and yum. When he hears those two words, then he starts doing all the tricks I taught him until he gets his reward. I love teaching him new tricks. Yesterday, I said treats and he twirled about five times like a doggy ballerino. He did his twirls so fast it looked effortless. He is so cute! Oh, I forgot he goes crazy when I say go fetch. He starts looking for a toy that I can throw. |
Puddin' freaks at the doorbell. She hasn't met a person she doesn't like, so the doorbell is, to her, a cue that someone is coming to see her! If the bell rings in the morning, she is especially hyper because that means Thandiswe (our maid) has arrived, and Puddin' adores her. I have to put her on the floor because she wriggles so much I am afraid she will slip out of my arms and hit the floor! "Good girl" sends her scurrying to the treat jar, where she sits or stands, staring at the jar, ears pricked and quivering with anticipation. I'm not sure she connects the phrase "good girl" with her behaviour, but she sure has it connected to those treats! |
barking My husband was against getting a little dog because often they are real barkers. "I don't want no yappy piece of s#*t dog" were his actual words. Needless to say I prevailed :D But because of that I try not to let Daisy bark. But the thing that gets her excited and barking is "Where is your TOY". It's funny that if I say it in a whisper she barks softly. Silly girl. |
Being a rescue she is still learning alot. But two words she knows and about flies out of her fur when she here's: "Daddy's Home". |
she has many but saying Brandy will do it her playmate |
Milo goes bonkers for Grandmaa Daphne (my sisters dog) cookie cheese lets go play with doggies (he goes to doggie day care) Any of these will wake him up from a sound sleep and head to either the front door or the fridge |
Definately: Who's that? (when someone's at door) Daddy's here. Where's daddy? Treat night-night |
"Squirrel" is the main one that gets Snoopy going. I think he's going to give himself a stroke one day over the squirrels. :p The other one that gets him riled up is "broom". He has to attack it. Just say "broom" and he runs to where we keep it, ready for battle! |
Amazing how many get crazy over the word "Squirrel". They must be thinking about the day's their ancestor's hunted critter's.:p |
Bath If I say bath Muffy will run and hide under anything she can get under. She hates her bath.:D Now if I put on my shoes she is up my butt till she finds out if she can go or not. |
