| Sophie Mae makes those adorable little sounds too. Almost like little squeaks. Especially when she has been sleeping and I pick her up and hold her on her back like an infant and she is all warm and cuddly. She snores very, very softly too. I thought maybe it is because she is so "fluffy". My other baby, Katy Lou, has never made those sounds. She is not as vocal, does less barking, etc. (but gets into EVERYTHING). |

| YT 1000 Club Member | Yes Roxie does this and she snores too. She'll lick my sons mouth (I try not to encourage this since he might give her rabies jk!!) and then she'll do this little thing making her lips smack and making this sound it's hard to describe. He lets her do this because he thinks it's the funniest thing. I have to admit it makes me laugh too. |

| Have any of you seen Dogs 101 on the Animal Channel? They talk about several breeds per show. They mentioned that Yorkies make a funny sound because of something called Pharyngeal Gag Reflex. Our dog also makes really funny sounds when I am playing agrressive with him. When he is all "hopped up" and has his toy, I will flip him over on his back, and he makes this really funny high pitched sound...kind of whiney. Maybe it is the same sound some of you are talking about. Here is a link to that video: Yorkies 101 |

| YT 1000 Club Member | More like a chipmunk or a squirrel eating a nut. She just does this thing where she smacks the very front part of her lips together but making a sound like you do when you press your tongue against your front teeth making a tsk tsk kind of sound! See it's hard to describe lol! |

| Sophie does this too! I refer to it more like a "cooing" sounds. Almost like a dove. Yet the cooing will be in a whinny noise like a horse would. She started this about 2 days after bringing her home. I thought I was hurting her cause she'd do it when I picked her up. We finally realized that it was "her" noise and not a pain noise. She still does it when snuggling or when she's tired but MUST go out to potty. She'll coo all the way to the door. It's funny as I just emailed my husband at work to tell him to let the diva dog out to pee when he got home and his answer to me was. "mmmmm, mmmmmm". He was trying to immitate her whining...LOL |

| Molly sighs when she stretches in her sleep, she also makes this little wet sucking noise when she is sound asleep. Kind of like a human baby does when it it asleep and sucking on it's tongue, pacifier. It's cute. If I happen to disturb her at this time, she acts disoriented for a moment or so. It's so cute.

| Tammy...you sweetheart! Here's a link to watch Momo make noises like a Ewok/Gremlin: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...k-gremlin.html I think in the video, he looks like an ewok. He's very vocal, even when he's eating he makes cute wittle noises.

| Is THAT what those noises are?! And here I was thinking that it was my fault she made those noises, because her brother and sister are cats! I always called it her trying to purr, but it's really more of a moan/groan under her breath. When she first did it as a puppy, I thought we were hurting her, but she does it when we're not even touching her too. Almost as if she's sighing when she gets comfortable. Or sometimes, if we're in bed and DH and I are talking, she'll do it as if to say, "shut up and go to sleep already!" The little brat! ![]() I had no idea this is common among Yorkies! I learn something new everyday!
