I'm really starting to not like people
 

I met a couple tonight that had a pair of Yorkies. A 3lb male and a 3.5lb female. While they were both adorable, I could tell when I was playing with them that they weren't very well taken care of. You could see every bone in their body and their ribs were so prominent that I almost didn't want to touch them in fear that I'd hurt them. Their hair was silky, but so very thin and dull from lack of nutrition. I asked the owner what kind of food they were on and they replied with "I don't know. Some stuff we get at Walmart." I just shook my head and boasted that I always had really good luck with Solid Gold and they should consider trying them on that.

Then halfway through the conversation I learned they were selling these babies as a breeding pair and asking $2000 for them. :eek:

I just wanted to come home and cry. SO not right.... just.... not right. They're waiting for the female to come into heat. If she does before they can find a buyer, they'll keep her. :(

these are the kind of people I just want to shakeeeeeeeeeee till they get some common sense. but that will never happen. the female will be luck if she can even carry a litter. It sure would be great if you could get them.... urggggggggg.

Wow, that is very sad. I often wonder what goes through the minds of people when they mistreat animals are only use them for financial gain.

I just want to scream when I hear things like this. What are people thinking???????? When I go out and see this, I really have a hard time keeping my coments to myself. I try to educate a little (not that I am an expert) but as we all know it does not always help!

And with such tiny dogs as Yorkies are, there is no good reason NOT to buy the best food money can get, a small bag lasts so long. I have had big dogs and trying to keep buying the best food for them is much harder to afford.

Those poor babies. It's really too bad no one can do more to save them from a fate like that. Just shaking my head.

tina and toy are social dogs. They make you want to take them home with you. And sometimes they don't react good to certain people so i understand that but give them time and they will grow out of it.

That's atrocious!!!!!!!!! About the food, the funny thing is, it doesn't cost any more to feed them the very best, or only a couple of dollars more. They don't need to consume as much of the good food, as it's more nutritiously dense, not loaded with fillers. Most people think that it's okay to feed some cheap crap, and that they're saving money. Oh, like it's worth saving $5 a month only to incur vet bills many times that down the road:rolleyes:

Thats very sad but I have to say that my dog was pretty skinny herself. She ate alot even when she was 3.5 and had gained a lb and was up to 4.8 lbs she felt the same, some yorkies are built differently and may be "boney" if you so call it. Also I'm not trying to defend but as someone who didn't know any better even 8 months ago I have to say that some people don't find these kinds of websites and just don't know better that there is better quality food out there. I had puppy chow before for my dog and I didn't know it was bad. I mean I knew it wasnt the best food but then again I thought Science diet was one of the best foods you could get. So you never really know what people are thinking, just because you can afford an expensive dog doesn't mean you know how to take care of them great. I know some breeders who claim Royal Canin is a great food for yorkies, everyone has a different opinion so because they feed cheap food doesn't mean we have to bash them, they simply may not know any better :cool:

I'm curious now. I thought I was feeding Roxie pretty good food (Royal Canine for the yorkie breed) is that not a good one? She seems to be doing fine on it. No tummy upsets, she has a nice shiney coat and her stools are solid and very regular (about twice a day) with hardly any odor. I know people who feed their bigger dogs Purina and it's really pretty disgusting. Those dogs poop all of the time and the yard looks like a cow pasture. Must be the grain in it, not sure.

How are you any different when you put Emma in an ad for sale with breeding rights. Im not convinced you would not do it again if it camee down to the almighty dollar

Have you read all postings about Emma (now owned by Teiya) in the other threads? If you read all this postings you would/should understand the emotions here.

So i just read SOME of the thread your talking about, and I supposed your half right. Although we know its IMPOSSIBLE to read everything on this site, I do see some similarities I suppose.. I guess since i dont know the WHOLE story im gonna stay outta this one.. :) Since i couldnt read the whole thread about Emma.. I just think sometimes theres nicer ways to say certain things:)

There was another thread also that got closed where she alot of support when we thought she was going to do the right thing for Emma. I know It wasnt very nice I didnt mean it to be. Im am very upset over Emma and how shes being treated like the dumped on pet that nobody wants. I have cried over this situation

:cry: Wow! I have to say I'm really upset with those on this thread that are being so catty and hateful. The one thing I really like about this forum is that it's filled with people who love their babies and that I can relate to.
However, the cattiness I can not!

I use to go to a forum on Dobermans that this kind of thing ruined. It got so bad that you could post a thread and no one would respond for days, if anyone responded at all. I really don't want to see something like that happen to this site. I love it here!!!!:love::love::love::love::love:

Please, stop the drama and get back to the starting topic of this thread....2 babies that are being victimized for their genes so that others can profit.

They are being starved & sold into a breeding life style & how about the fact that the family they are a part of doesn't want to keep them as their forever pets? It's such a sad thing. IMO it's like your family telling you that they don't want you anymore, and they forced you to live with a total stranger.

I agree with the poster who said that the owners may not know that this is bad dog food that they are feeding. I just have to remind myself that not everyone looks at their pets as babies like we do and wants the best for them.

Did you get their names or phone number? If not, if you see them again, tell them you know someone who's interested and get their contact information. Then report them to the local animal control to be inspected.

It breaks my heart to know that they are with people like this.

Maybe you are right. But please let me say that the things which Emma happens are not nice too. And this little poor yorkie cannot descide herself the best for her. Some of us have great fear that she ends up in a puppy mill. Help is not really welcome by her owner. That´s the fact why the emotions are so high.
And I know the whole story from the postings.

Apparently, you haven't read any of her threads about Emma. Everyone that has tried to help this girl and give her advice has been "talked down to and been rude to" by this person. Some people just come on to cause trouble. You need to do a search on her posts before you start taking up for her. have you think.
