Do you take your furbabies with you into any/all stores?
 
Do you take your furbabies with you into any/all stores? If so, do you carry him/her free hand or in a carrier? I always want to take Bailey with me but wonder how common this is... FEEDBACK :)

I wonder about this too. I get a little worried they'll tell me I can't take her in and I will not leave her in a locked car in fear someone will break in and take her. We were thinking of taking out son to the zoo in St. Louis this week and I didn't want to leave Roxie home all day. Wasn't sure if I could carry her around in there in a bag or not?

I do occasionally, she goes in my purse and sticks her head out. I have a big purse, lol

I took Tobie into Dollar General with me when I first got him and the lady told me not to bring him in anymore because they could get shut down :(

I bring Missy with me everywhere (in her carrier) except for the grocery store and restaurants.

Where I live, you can not take them to the zoo. No outside animals are allowed.

Thank you. I wasn't sure it was a good idea. Some of those wild animals might get sight of her and want to eat her :eek:. I guess it's a good idea not to. If someones dog got away they might run into a very dangerous situation.

Anywhere they have food...don't do it. It puts them in a bad position.

This is our Zoo's policy...
No outside animals are allowed on Zoo grounds in order to maintain the health and safety of our animals.
It makes sense really. I'm sure everyone would bring their dog there if they could and who knows which pet owners have their dogs fully vaccinated or not. I bet that zoo animals can catch the same diseases and illnesses that our pets can.

Have you ever had anyone tell you that you couldn't bring her in? That's why I haven't bought a carrier yet. After my experience at Dollar Tree I figured every place would be the same and it would be a waste of money.

I took our little Kilo to Target a few years ago and they asked me to leave! It hurt our feelings. He was in a doggy carrier and everything. I am afraid to let them come do errands and leave them in the car too. I am always so paranoid while I am in a store that someone will break in and steal them. We go to this one restaurant by our house and park up by the front window where we can see them but that is about it these days. I have a new puppy and he would surely fit in my purse but he's kind of wild and I am afraid he'd jump out and fall to the floor. It's too bad they can't be welcome in more places.:(

I take Gracie EVERYWHERE except I try not to take her to grocery stores... the only place that I ever get anyone saying "no dogs" is Walmart... but my Gracie is a service animal... so I can take her in;):D

I don't take Mitzy in any stores but Petsmart. I know Walgreens allows pets but she doesn't tag along much because she gets car sick. There is also a restraunt here (Wooden Nickel Pub) that allows dogs on the patio only.

I take Sam to the petstores and Christmas Tree Shop,I would love to take them more places.

Do you use a carrier? How did Gracie become a service dog?

I take Audrey-Belle with me everywhere. She has been noticed a few times in her carry bag but we've never been asked to leave. They either ooh and aww over her or say nothing.

I use a Petfly's carrier. A little bulky, but she's super comfy in it.

So does any have any good suggestions on places that are dog-friendly? I am trying to let Tobie meet new people and socialize but they only place I know to take him is Petsmart. We go there a lot but I've got to stop going so much because I always end up spending money. lol

I only take Onni with me if I know I am going somewhere she can go inside. I would never ever leave her in a car for fear of overheating or getting stolen; plus it would scare her half to death to be left alone. :eek:

When I take her; I have a doggy back pack that fits in front and she rides in there with her little head sticking out.

She is soooo cute! :D (I am not biased) :p

I wish I could take her everywhere!!! :rolleyes:

Where did you find one small enough? A place here had those and the smallest one they had we tried and the poor girl flat disappeared in it! She's not a tiny Yorkie either she's 7 pounds.

I take Layla to Michaels (She always gets oooed and ahhhed over there- she loves it) she has also gone into Home Depot.

Milo comes lots of places with me in and out of his bag, I always have it with me just in case. We never go in anywhere who has a food service permit because that is not allowed. The only place that has ever asked me to leave is Target the funny thing about that was I was there for Dog stuff go figure. He has been to plenty of small local stores, Kmart, Drugfair, Rite Aid, The Mall The Verizon Store, Homegoods, Michaels, petco, petsmart, 5below, TJ Max Bed Bath Beyond Old Navy Lots of places. The one thing I do make sure of is that I only take when it is not necessary for me to buy somthing this way if for some reason they ask us to leave or won't let us in I don't have to bring him home and come back.

Now that spring is coming (so they say) garden centers, outdoor markets, craft fairs etc are fun. But till then she just goes where ever with me in her bag and rides in the cart. She had to face me or she freaks out.

I guess it's the ordinances in your state and county that mandate this. Fort Lauderdale is kinda lax, but I have two issues. Lilly HATES the car, so trips are limited. I do bring her out in her carrier, and no one EVER says a thing to me. I have not tried bringing Jesse into a store other than Petsmart, but he is 10 lbs. at 8 months so it's like carrying a large infant around. He is not easily concealed.:D
