yorkie_mama22, I really commend you for being able to manage all of this craziness and think about how to give Stormy the best possible life. I can't even imagine how hard this must be.

I am most definitely her to support Stormy. I am thankful she is alive. She has been through so much in her life and the op has mentioned several times other posts that she did not have the money to take her to the vet, that Stormy doesn't have long to live, that Stormy had a lump on her neck but could not take her to the vet. I just could not understand why she was mad because the vet did not put her dog to sleep right away. If the dog was 'critical' and sick I could not understand why she went back and snatched Stormy away from a vet that would help her. If it were me I would have tried to work out a payment plan and get her help. Stormy has some health issues but it does not sound to me like she is ready to cash in her chips. I think she is fighter and she deserves to live as long as she is not suffering.

As for being supportive of YT members, I always try to be helpful but I will not just turn my head if I see things I don't understand. There is nothing wrong with asking questions or a different point of view. As far as I know Stormy still has the health issues that sent her to the vet to begin with and my main concern is that Stormy gets help. I have been raising yorkies for 12 years and I would be more than happy to give the OP good advice that might make Stormy better. She was not seeking medical advise but just mad because the vet took too long to put her dog to sleep.

I think it is time for us all to move on and give the op all the support we can in making Stormy well. Believe me I have been crying and crying over this. It hurts me to think what little Stormy has been through. I pray she makes a speedy recovery. And to the OP, I pray she does continue to keep us updated and reach out for help for Stormy.

Guys, we just went through calling someone out on their story of finding an abandoned yorkie... aren't there over 40,000 YT members? Some of them are going to have very sick dogs. I think this poor girl deserves the benefit of the doubt.

I think the second vet is very unprofessional because it sounds like he would only help stormy if he could keep her as his on pet.

Jeanine something isn't adding up because you don't know the whole story. I bought Stormy from a lady in Missouri who claimed she was a yorkie breeder and that she was getting rid of her because she couldn't breed her. She gave me vet records but with all the excitment of bringing her home after I travelled to Michigan to get her I didn't go over them. It turns out the vet papers are only from the ORIGINAL breeder which was NOT HER and the records are only for the time up to about 20 wks til the lady bought her. She told me she bought her from long time family friends to use her to breed. I talked to this lady and had good feelings, she was a tad bit pushy for me to come get her asap so I did, I fell in love with her. I brought her home and she began to limp we brought her to the vet and he said she had Luxating Patella and she would need surgery soon. When I brought this up to the lady she became very rude and denying she EVER had any problems and a whole drama started with her. A week after that Stormy had two seizures and when I called the lady again she would not answer. I was trying to get info on Stormy from her and the lady never wanted to answer my emails or calls and after leaving her plenty of messages I just gave up and did my own investigating and found the original breeders who turn out to be a puppy mill and said this dog was born with bad knees and the lady knew and they also said they didnt even know this woman that they only met her once so she lied again. This dog was examined and also I was told she must of had her rib cage broken or was born severely deformed. Now all the pieces are falling into place and that is that this woman must of known there were issues and sold me her when Stormy was having one of her " good streaks ". This dog was also sold as PET ONLY NOT FOR BREEDING. and this woman knew that aswell so why she made up the lie that she couldn't breed her but bought her for that reason is just another lie from her.

yes I have mentioned at times I don't have the money but I always find a way to bring her in so don't say things you don't know about. I snatched her up because she OBVIOUSLY was not suffering OR DYING!!!!

I would like to ask the OP if you had requested Stormy's body to be disposed of or if you were going to get her back and bury her? If the body was to be disposed of the then vet could of just kept the dog without contacting the OP. I have heard of vet's doing that before. If the body was supposed to be picked up later then the vet would have to ask permission to be able to keep the dog.

I do agree that this has been a horrible roller coaster ride for the op and for Stormy. I pray everything works out.

This a requirement that rescuse have, why would it be wrong for a vet to request this.

Also this vet maybe knows more about the case than we do.

bjh, of course there's nothing wrong with asking questions or having a different point of view. However, on a sensitive issue, it doesn't hurt to be tactful. If you do have useful information, it's all the more important to say it in a useful way. Saying someone was upset that their dog wasn't PTS fast enough is very unkind.

I lost a human companion some years ago and it was mind-boggling how many people came out of the woodwork to lecture and berate me on the proper way to grieve. I'm going to stop posting on this thread because it is getting me so mad to see people behaving the same way.

this seems bizarre and unkind, when it only takes a few minutes to put a dog down. Either do it, or dont do it. Im not surprised the Op is traumatised, i would be too. Its a horrible heartbreaking mess. The vets were disgraceful the way they handled things.

What else is wrong with Stormy? I read the part about her not having a nose because of chemical burns, a broken rib?, LP and a lump in her neck? I also read where you had another puppy before Stormy who died? Thats awful-what happened? Just curious if she suffers anymore health problems or had other accidents that add to her vet bills & health problems?

I think the vet prob. thinks your in over your head and is just wanting to help. I have never heard of an abusive vet or a vet with cruel intentions..I think you should give him the benefit of doubt and talk to him. Maybe he'll have more compassion and offer some assistance at a reduced fee to help Stormy. There is no telling what happened after you left-or what their intentions were.

No doubt you've been through a lot and love Stormy. Your doing the right thing by weighing your options. :thumbup: Go talk to him when you feel a little bit better, thinking clearer and see what he can do to help.

She had a lump in her neck and it went away a couple days later. To clear that up.

There hasn't been any other accidents for your information, the nose incident was very traumatic and luckily she lived through that. It just goes to show how smart yorkies are, she pushed her way into the bathroom and me being stupid had left that stuff on the floor. I don't know exactly what is wrong with her for your information otherwise I would be doing something about it!

My fiancee bought me a puppy for my birthday, a shihtzu that was probably about 6 or 7 weeks old, he knows nothing about buying a pup or whatever, he bought one that was not vet checked or had shots. We got him, brought him in for a check up and shots all seemed fine with him and within 2-3 weeks after that he passed away in his sleep one night!
