If I had the money or a litter I would get you one |
Your time will come patience is a golden virtue. I for one don't have it, lol. You will come across one. NOW to address this "mutt/mixed" issue. I own a Shorkie. With a "mutt", it is usually defined by a mix of 2 or more breeds with parentage unknown. Hmmm food for thought. Copy and paste: One of the most ancient types of hybird animal is the mule, a cross between a female horse and a male donkey or ass. The liger is a hybrid cross between a male lion and female tiger. The yattle is a cross between a cow and a yak. These hybrids actually earned their own name as a result of these breedings. Basically a mule is a mutt? Anyway, point being, it took more than one breed to develop a Yorkie, and many years for it to be accepted into the AKC. Now who knows, Shorkies, Morkies, whatever, may in time develop and keep these names and be accepted into the AKC as well. Way down the road though. I was a breeder of Golden Retrievers, show/confirmation. All clearences on both parents, the whole 9 yards. Retired and a a small home now. Down size time. However, I really liked the Shorkie, so research I did. Both parents of my baby have both had testing, yeaaa, point for the breeder. What afflicts both breeds should be tested, both parents. Learning about the breed of each parent. Knowing the problems, and the pluses. So let's just remember that the Yorkie was created by cross breeding as well as the other dogs in our history. I for one, do not have the right to tell someone they can NOT try and create a different breed. Does anyone realize how long it really takes before a new breed is accepted? Many many moons, not in my lifetime, for sure. So for those who have pure breds, enjoy, for those who have your Shorkies, Morkies, poos, or whatever, equally enjoy. Does not matter what other people think, it is what you think and want. Do not feel quilty for owning a cross breed IMHO enuf said from me. Have a wonderful day everyone!! |
Hope this might help you! I see that you are from North Carolina! I got my little yorkie from the same breeder that I got my Bichon Frise sisters from about 9 years ago. His name is Bill Allen. He is from Hudson, NC. His site is Mason Creek West Highland White Terrier Website He is a wonderful country man who has been breeding puppies for over 30 years. He is a member of the Better Business Bureau. I researched him highly years ago and I went back to him when I decided to purchase a yorkie. She is wonderful by the way. My twin daughters also purchased a male yorkie from him. I could have had them flown to me in Virginia but I chose instead to drive there to pick them up. She was $800.00 and the little male was $700.00. They are great little dogs, they were extremely healthy. I felt very comfortable and safe with this purchase. If I decide in the future to get another puppy I would not hesitate to go back to Mr. Allen. His email is: precioustreasures@charter.net I hope this helps you! I am not sure what price range you want to pay for a yorkie but I gotta tell you I would pay triple the price to have a great little dog like my dixie again! She is almost a year old and I love her so much! Now she is just priceless!! |
Additional info! Oops! In addition to my other reply, try this web site as well for Mr. Allen of Hudson, NC. Precious Little Treasures - Home I hope you get another little yorkie soon. They are the most wonderful little dogs. Dixie is my first yorkie and each of my twin daughters have a yorkie male (Teddy and Maxie). They all are here together and running and playing all day and my second set of children. Good Luck with your search! |
