Men and Yorkies I thought this was cute so I had to share :) My husband was in the Air Force (was medically retired) so he is a man's man. Well, when I wanted to get another puppy he wasn't thrilled about the idea but agreed to it. Now, he absolutely ADORES Tobie. DH was standing in the kitchen making something to eat and Tobie was just sitting there looking at him. DH turns around and goes, "why are you so cute?! I just can't stand it!" and picks him up and gives him hugs and kisses. It was so cute. He is as attached to Tobie as I am. So then today, DH was talking to one of his friends that he was in the Air Force with (his friend is still active duty) and he told him about Tobie. His friend then jokingly says that we better be careful because he might steal Tobie. lol. Apparently, he LOVES Yorkies! It just seems like men usually want big dogs so I think it's cute when they love the little ones. |

My DH was the same way... Bringing Couver home was a surprise to him, because I knew he wouldnt let me otherwise (I know... not the best choice!). He was not too happy for the first day, but after that, he has said nothing but good things about Couver. He is enamored with him!!;) It's cute. |
Tink and I were thrust upon my hubby. First me..."your bags are packed, see ya" came from home and he adopted me. Then, "the dog is too much, I am giving her away". He let us both stay together and loved her to bits. Right at the end of her life, I would take her with me to get him from boys night at the pub each Friday. When he had those couple of beers in him, he couldn't keep his hands off her, even in front of his mates. They were best buddies :D Since we met he always said he might like a Westie, but now we have space for a new pup, he wants another Yorkie. We love 'em. |
Same here hubby likes bigger dogs...But now you will see him feed her with his fork lol and honestly for some reason she will eat her other food from him that she usually don't eat, if he feeds her ,I have tried but she won't eat it from me. And I am the one that takes care of her |
Oh she would never eat for him, she wanted me to serve her dinner, but the love and cuddles were all for him :D He's a bit of a magnet for animals...you know when people say, "oh he/she won't come to you". He just sits there and the cat/dog, whatever jumps on him and settles down. Very funny, he must have some pheremone or something - not sure whether to e proud or worried about that! |
Just a sorta quick story. My son who is 35, 6feet 4 inches and 275lbs, is a long distance tractor trailer driver who takes his dog Butch everywhere with him. Well Butch is a cute as a bug, 4 lb chihuahua. Butch guards the truck when Bill has to get out etc.... Well Last weekend my son was up visiting with Butch and Bill was playing with my two dogs, Zeke the Lhasa and Baxter the yorkie. After a little while I hear Bill say to Baxter, "you know little guy, when I don't have Butch anymore I just might get a guy just like you"... He is just to funny. He has worked with rotties, and Sharpeas (wrong spelling). But he would rather have the little ones. Just had to share. |
My husband is the same! A construction worker & former black lab kinda guy. I had to talk him into a yorkie, finally he said fine if you want a little dustmop running around I'll get you one. WELL..............now we "argue" about whos baby she really is! Every single night when we watch TV he lays on the loveseat with his legs up over the end & Precious will jump right up & hunker down in a little ball on his legs. He loves her to death! MOMMY TO PRECIOUS:aimeeyork |
I LOVED all of your stories, My girls are starved for male attention. Yesterday the computer tech came over, and they almost ate the man, Luckily, he adored them. |
Yep....... they are undeniably a man's dog, too!....... Shelby & Seymour have an every morning ritual watching the news on the couch with hubby. One on each side!..... |
My husband did 11 years in the air force and has spent the last 15 years in law enforcement so he is also a man's man. He also grew up in the south where you had "real dogs" and was not too happy when I got Samson. He even told me that Sam would be my responsiblity. It took a while but I think he loves Sam more than I do (if that is possible). When we got Harley in Jan he said this is HIS dog. He even talks about the dogs at work and they tease him saying things like I hope those are your wifes dogs, a real man wouldn't have yorkies, etc. etc. He tells me he totally owns the fact that he has yorkies and he LOVES them. |
lol..that is soo cute, my boyfriend is the same way but he was the one that wanted a yorkie not me. But he gets soo jealous that Tobie is a mama's boy and will sleep with me and not him. He even tells his friends at work all about Tobie and will take pictures of him to show him off. It is harilours and super cute! I love it! |
another cute "manly" story... .......... I purchased an adorable silky nightshirt for Seymour from Gofetch. When he wears it, hubby calls it his "smoking jacket"....... just like Hef's!!! :eyetearss:eyetearss:eyetearss |

He is 6ft tall and 250lbs. He comes out with my very little Chloe in his hand. He says,"What do you want me to do with this dog, it's attacking me!" My friend and I bursted out laughing!!! This big guy and my 1lb puppy!!!! OMG you would've thought it was a pitbul! Dh is madly in love with my babies now...:p |
