Bark at my back door .....thoughts and comments I must apologize for not getting back to you all...we have been busy trying to find the owner of the little tyke......but according to some of the posts that i have seen we haven't done enough.....we have always enjoyed yorkie talk ...but we don't appreciate the comments that we had an ulterior motive ..."something's fishy" ...and the like.......perhaps we will join another york forum and say good by to yorkie talk.......to insinuate that we are keeping maggie for greed or profit makes me sick...and a little pissed off.... Good by.... |
I'm sorry you are offended, wolfer1. I don't think anyone could say that you didn't do right by this doggie. Please understand that sometimes people join boards just to rile up members, so if someone comes in with an unusual story and hasn't posted much, it's not always kosher. I am one of the many people who read your story and is thrilled to hear that Maggie has found a wonderful home after her ordeal. I hope that you stay, because we all want to see pictures and hear more about her. |
I too think, and recently posted how happy I was that you have give Maggie a great home--and couldnt wait to see photos of her happy in her new home! I was dying to know what happened to the sweet thing after your original post. |
Please don't leave, I don't think anyone meant anything out of spite just concern. But I am soo happy that Maggie has ya'll as a family. |
I am one that has also been waiting on an update on this baby. I never felt any thing was fishy. but just waited to be updated. I for one am so glad you took this baby in, and not knowing how she got in the condition she was in before she found you. could of had bad owners like you thought or also could of just been lost. I was hoping she had just been lost and would soon be reunited with an owner that has been searching and wanting to see her baby again. but you just never know, to bad these little ones cant tell us. But I would love for you to stay on YT and share pictures and hear updates on this little one. I do know that there have been people who has just joined to start a thread and just sit back and watch the trouble they cause, so I think that is why when some members never saw and update they thought this was happening again. so I hope you stay and im sorry that happened. |

I am happy to hear good news about Maggie, too. Please don't leave. Everyone was worried about her and concerned that she had parents that were looking for her. You found the story and it makes us feel a lot better. She can now have a forever home with you and be happy. She will have lots of YT Aunties and Uncles and cousins that want to see more and more photos of her. |
I think its easy to jump to conclusions and I see it often enough in here but I can assure you it will probably be the same on any forum you get on. We all have one thing in common and that is the love for yorkies. I hope that you will see that for every pessimistic thought there were two optimistic ones concerning Maggie. I'm certain that the ones that were doubting your story didn't mean any harm. Hope that you stick around! |
You shouldn't leave. I said your story sounded fishy(and I will speak up), because of the way you said and we're not going to try and find the dogs owners. I did go back the first time and say to give you the benefit of the doubt. But, also asked about pictures that were going to be posted the next night(a few nights ago), so yeah, things did seem kind of fishy. I'm glad you got everything worked out and got you another yorkie to love |
You and your wife are kind people to take care of Maggie when she came knocking on your door. I have been following this thread hoping for a happy ending to this. I'm sorry you have been offended by some of the comments but having been a member for a long time I know that we have had people post very wild threads about yorkies and some of our members have been taken by ordering products, sending money and never receiving them. I hope you will stay with us as our members are caring people just like you and your wife. |

I'm happy to see that the two of you will be hanging around for at least a little longer and give YT another shot. :) I have been following your thread although I haven't posted since just as I was posting, I saw on a refresh that Sunnie responded on your behalf. I had actually wanted to say how trusting you are to post such personal information out there for just anybody to (ab)use. There are stalkers who start off from even less information than what you have provided without giving it a second thought. I'm a paranoid one, and I think you might not be paranoid enough! You might want to consider requesting that admin remove your phone number from your original post. How much that would help to preserve some of your privacy, I do not know since you've already shared both yours and your dear wife's first and last names. :eek: Undoubtedly, you must be an incredibly honest man to not doubt the infinite number of strangers on cyberspace. :angel: Maggie does have a wonderful new mommy and daddy. By losing one parent, she has gained two more plus a sibling. :love: |
I posted this under the other thread as well but wanted to make sure you saw it. I think it's great that you did everything you could to try to find out where she came from. There was a reason this little dog found your backdoor, there was a Gaurdian Angel waiting inside to watch over and now keep her. We were all just very anxious and it's like waiting for the birth of a new baby....we just became impatient waiting for news. I'm sorry if I offended in any way and I am hoping your staying here at YT. |
I am new here to this site and I haven't posted very much just reading and learning. I feel compelled to post this though. I read the whole story and was staying with it to see the outcome. I will admit I was appalled from some of the comments I read. These people don't know you from adam but was quick to judge you. I never once thought something bad from your comments. Don't let a few bad apples run you off. Looks like to me you have concerned friends here. Stay for their sake. You don't have to talk to the bad apples. Just my two cents worth. |

I've found that when things start getting out of hand I don't care to read the posts. I am happy all has turned out well for little Maggie and I hope you enjoy having her. Didn't anyone stop to think that these goodhearted people would have been busy out searching for the dogs owners and caring for this babies every need? not everyone has the time to be constantly glued to YT updating every minute!:rolleyes: I hope you stick around...you sound like the type of yorkie owners we need more of around here.;) |

It really wasn't even from your post, but it seemed like people were offering to take the dog, before you even had a chance to find the owner, and I think this got people upset. Yorkietalkers often get suspicious when someone doesn't do what they consider is enough updates, but we have a wide variety of people, and a really good system of checks and balances. I just want to welcome you to Yorkietalk, and try to focus on the many good points, I'm so glad there are people like you that will care for a lost dog. So many others would have just shut the door. Please dont' leave - i just went and read the whole thread about finding Maggie and you are going to find people like "that" everywhere. I think some people on here are just leery- many have gotten emotionally involved in threads like yours only to be burned and found out it was a lie or someone who DID have bad intentions. I hope you will continue to stick around- we would LOVE updates on Maggie (who by the way is TOO Cute for words). |
