What direction does your yorkies hair grow on their head? I've been trying to grow out Gracie's topknot but have troubles trying to keep it on her. If I don't put anything on her head the hair all falls forward and your can't see her eyes. She used to have a visor, but I've been trying to grow that out also. For those of you that have a topknot, what happens if you don't secure it with a bow, claw or band??? Does it fall in their face or go to the sides?

Here's a visual of our hair woes....it's now covering her nose too!!!

Chance's hair does the same. Don't know what to, but keep it in a bow.

Thanks for your reply. I'm going crazy...everything I put in her topknot disappears. Of course her big sis doesn't help. The minute I fix her topknot, her sis has to lick her head....and voila...it's a mess!!! Today I put 2 claws in her hair and found traces of one and no sign of the second one. To be continued...........????????????

She looks cute with her hair all messy like that. Does it seem like she can see when it's hangin' in her eyes? I guess that I'm lucky Missy's hair kind of goes back and to the sides...for now anyways :p

hahaha omg this is exactly what benny has been looking like lately. i cant decide whether i want to cut it or grow it out for a topknot so its hanging in his eyes sometimes and i cant help but laugh whenever i see him. so cute

Thats what Jewels' does, its right in her face. I ve seen on here where people have trained that hair to go to the sides. Im gonna get some topknot gel and do that also

Tias hair sticks in the air when her top knot comes out at night ,it looks really funny and the more she shakes her head the funnier it looks:D

Apple's hair looks like a sun-visor too, and it is adorable! Butt, she's 4 1/2 months old, and when it starts covering her eyes, it won't be so much fun...I'm afraid she's not going to like top knot bows, etc., but I sure don't want to cut it!!! I wonder what the majority of yorkie owner's do, and what's the rules for the show ring? Btw, I'm not thinking of showing, just wondered?

I am starting to grow hair Baileys back out since the groomer cut it a while back. Hers goes in her eyes as well. When I put her hair in pig tails or top knot her baby sis will always chew on it or when they play it gets all messed up. Where can you buy the top knot gel and what is it called?

Petsilk topknot gel. I buy it from several places google it and you will find it also Des at gofetch sells it

Oh Carlybaby, I'm soooooooooo going to grow my Apple's top knot out...You baby looks major adorable w/the top knot tied up.......awwwwwwww.....

I plan to put a topknot in our little guy,once his hair is long enough. If you are worried about people confusing him for a girl,there are lots of bows and topknot things for boys too.

Gracie Ruth's grows just like that too. But what I find amazing is that days I leave it down, she's rather quiet and subdued. Days that it's in a top knot she's a little firecracker. All bouncy and bubbly. hmmmm

I wish Tobie would let me put his hair in top knot, the groomers did it one time and as soon as we got home he got it out! I have tired to do it myself as well but it never looks good when I do it. After seeing how cute they look with a top knot I am gonna grow his hair out and try it again.

Lol, I love the before and after pictures, reminds me of a poor little rescue, and voilą she becomes pampered pet. What a little beauty you have.

Finally gave up...
 
I was growing Cassi's top knot for awhile and last week decided to cut it short...and did just that. I just couldn't stand all her hair in her face when I left it down. Now, I still have a full container of petsilk gel and a few bows that I purchased previously. I need to figure out what do with it now, since I no longer need it. :rolleyes:

I wonder that too. It's really funny how her whole body language seems to change. Sometimes it's mid morning before I get around to putting it up. And it's like a switch was flipped. Moppey :sad: one second, all bouncy :happyboun the next. I don't know what it is, but it is really cute to watch! :)

Thanks Nancy :p she really does look like a poor pathetic rescue every morning when she wakes up.lol I remove her topknot before bed,it's amazing how much she transforms through the night,kind of like the reverse Cinderella lol

I just had to laugh at these post. I thought Katie was the only one who looked like this. You have made my day with the laughs and feeling like Katie is not the only one who sucks on her hair that hangs over he eyes (LOL)
Katie cant or chooses not to keep her hair up and out of her eyes, so I am constantly brushing or pushing away from her eyes.

I was wondering the same thing. I tried to put a clip/barrett in his hair (with a skull on it, of course) and he put his head down and rubbed it on the rug. It came out, naturally. Gunnar's daddy has a beautiful coat and top knot. He is very handsome. Even tho Gunnar is my baby, the skin kid and hubby said he needed a puppy cut. I caved. But, it's coming close to that decision again, so I think I'll get some hair gel and try it! And some of those tiny bands.

Me too...I see all the cute pics of tidy topknots and felt like my baby was the only scruffy looking girl. Even though I think she looks kinda cute that way. It seems to fit her tomboy personality.
