Finally......I am back! Hello everyone....especially to all the new posters....welcome to the best Yorkie forum on the web.....you will love all the nice people who visit here. Hello again to the "older" members......you may remember that I asked for help several months ago after I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had planned to travel to Houston for surgery, chemo and radiation and I had no one to care for our two Yorkies....Max and Maggie.....thank you so much for all who offered assistance....even offering to come to our RV and walk the dogs....etc....or even offering to keep them for a few days while I was so ill.....You were wonderful.. I am having treatment in Oklahoma City, instead, and have been able to keep the dogs at home with friends checking on them. I have finished surgery and chemo.....will begin radiation in 4 weeks.....I am bald and fatigued but determined to fight for my life.......Max and Maggie have helped me get through the tough times. They are my darliings and I know we all share our love for these babies of ours....and it is wonderful and amazing how they bless our lives. It is good to be back ......I wanted to express my appreciation for all who were willing to help me.........What a great bunch of folks. Max and Maggie's Mom |

Welcome back! What a strong lady you are - and I'm so glad you are able to have your babies close to you during this time. I'm of the firm belief that animals can make a big difference in recovery! Glad to see you here! :):) |
Max and Maggie sound like the perfect partners to help you through this tough time! Welcome back! :) |
Welcome back! So glad you were able to receive the care needed closer to home! You remain in our prayers! Puppy kisses to Max & Maggie ... good job kids! ;) |
Welcome back! I'm Julie, Gracie's Mom, and fairly new to the boards. I wasn't aware of your health issues but I will keep you in my prayers for a full recovery! Hugs to Max and Maggie! |
I also have cancer (lymphoma) and I understand how hard it is. Your furbabies can help you though this. They love us no matter what we have or look like....Depression has hit me very hard and some days I was not sure I would make it though. I know that is why my husband got me a puppy. Gizmo seems to know when I am down. And he just gets silly and wants me to play with him. We must keep faith and hope to get though this. I will pray for you to be strong and fight this beast. Phyllis |
My thoughts and prayers are with you....welcome back!! |
Welcome back and best wishes for a speedy recovery. Duke and I will keep you in our prayers, and send hugs and kisses to Max and Maggie. |
Hi and welcome back Max's Mom! I have a 4 month old baby named Bo and he is our household's "momma's boy"! He and my older dog, a Schnauzer named Woody, have made many of my days brighter as I suffer with chronic depression on a daily basis. I'm not a theologian and could never prove it, but I have a deep conviction that God places special people and special pets in each of our lives to help us through and I praise Him for it. The unconditional love and grace I receive from my babies gets me through some pretty bleak days. I am so sorry you are in this fight right now and you as well, Phyllis. Take comfort in these sweet pleasures God has provided. I prayed for you both today. ;) |
Welcome back to Yorkie Talk....So glad you are with your fur babies to give you comfort!!! Keep up that inner strength you have and remember there are so many prayers out there for you! |
Welcome back!! Welcome back and kisses from Luca Dean to Max and Maggie. Yorkies are great companion dogs -- Luca Dean seems to know when I am down too. Keep up the positive attitude and just keep trucking. Your babies will help. Good to hear from you! :) |
I'm thrilled to see you here - have thought about you often!! Max and Maggie are playing doctor and nurse to you then?! Sure that they are brilliant at their jobs too! Please keep in touch here and so glad you are getting on ok, love, Ana xxxx |
keep those babies close........they will give you all the strength you need....hugs and kisses from gracie and me |
I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering how you were doing. I'm glad you posted and gave us an update. I pray that all goes well for you. |
Thanks to all You all are so encouraging.....I am determined to fight this disease and I choose life. Tonight.....Max and Maggie slept on my lap for 3 hours....they can read my moods and know when I am exhausted....they hang close and are ready to "licky licky licky" if they decide that I need them........God certainly knew what He was doing when he made our animal companions....They are making this difficult time so much easier to bear. PLUS....they don't care if I am bald, without eyelashes or eyebrows......or whether I am pale as a ghost.......or look like death walking  ;) ...they love me no matter what :D Max and Maggie's Mom |
Welcome Back! You are going through a very rouch time of it right now. I know as my husband had Colon Cancer and now has throat cancer. But, you can win! Keep fighting and try to eat as much as you can. Joe ate a lot of home made soup and when he couldn't eat nothing else, I cooked that Rice A Roni angel hair pasta. He ate a lot of that. Ensure with ice-cream in it made in the blender. Just really try to keep up your calories. You need it to battle the Cancer, Chemo and Radiation. My thoughts are with you! Pat |
