I agree.. this thread is hysterical. The best thing to do is get your dog neutered. He will stop the humping almost immediatly. My dog did. If your not willing to go that route then you need to disicipline him like someone else already posted about. good luck!! |
Whether this is serious or not - I must point out that Baxter is 15 months old, was neutered at 5 months and still humps from time to time. Especially when my sister's dachsund comes over who has been spayed. So I can't say neutering is going to fix this problem completely. |
From what I've read, the responses ARE serious. Neuter the little horn-dog and take control of the situation. YOU are supposed to be the alpha dog, not him. His humping the hell outta you is him telling you, "I own you, bitch, now take it like a dog!" The way you posted the original question was funny and I didn't not take it as a serious question, just a question that was worded funny. You obviously have a sense of humor so let's keep it that way. Oh, and the neuticals are serious too, they'll really do it if you don't like the no-nut look!:D (we'll still laugh though lol) |
On a serious note. Please have your dog neutered. Once they breed, most likely he will be marking constantly in your house. They make much better pets once they've been neutered. Dogs that aren't neutered can smell a female in heat a mile away, they will dodge out a door, which they can get hit by a passing car, or other bad things could happen. Myself, I wouldn't own a male that wasn't neutered |
Breeding him will only make him worse. He will become intent on breeding and probably start marking your furniture. Get him neutered and work on training him. Humping is a dominance issue, not sexual. You need to be in charge in this relationship, not him. I'd suggest the Nothing in Life is Free program. It puts you in charge of the resources which makes you the leader of your pack. Nothing in Life is Free Gaining control of your dog humanely Nothing in Life is Free |
I can say from experience that allowing your dog to breed will almost always change him. We studded our toy poodle one time and he was a marking machine after that. His personality didn't change but the marking was horrible! I've learned a lot from that experience. Now, that said, he did not hump on most people.... just his stuffed dog and always on my best friend's leg. Whenever she came over, he would go for her leg. She was the only one he did this to though. It was pretty strange and quite embarassing. I say neuter him and enjoy him as a pet - not a stud. |

I'm sure this is a serious problem for you and I have to agree to the serious posters here.... Having him fixed and not allow him to show this behaviour will help. Think of him as a horny teenager who has to learn to manage his urges. Once your boy has mated it will be more difficult to keep him from humping. I experience that first hand last weekend when our 6 year old Max who was neutured 6 months ago and was used as a stud dog before tied with our little Mikki who is in heat. They can't make babies but it is still a problem b/c they can get hurt... Oh... it still is funny to think of a doggie bordello... no offense, but it makes me giggle too... |

ROTFL!!!! You have gotten some good advice......maybe not the way you wanted it...but you sorta asked for it not to be taken very seriously with your Original Post! lol It was funny...so you shouldn't be offended that others respond in kind to it... Good luck with your little "humping machine"...hope you get it resolved...and think seriously before you try to stud him out...you have been told the con's of that choice..so it doesn't leave you with much of an alternative...if you really want to get him under control. |
Shame on me... since you asked you might not be familiar with the mating procedures of dogs. Bitches only allow a dog to mate when they are in heat and ready to concieve. Between their heat cycles they will bite every dog off that gets too fresh. That's why a doggie bordello won't work b/c all the 'girls' would be pregnant most of the time and it would be very very irresponsible and cruel. Puppy mills are those kind of institutions and are being outlawed in a lot of states now, Thank God!!! |
I think everyone took your post seriously and gave you some good advice along with some humor. I honestly felt from your original post that you had a sense of humor about the situation and the way you presented it was refreshing. It seemed as if some good natured banter through the post would be appropriate as well. I'm sorry if I offended you in any way. I hope you were able to take away some of the good information that has been share though and that it helps you in your situation. |

I recently saw a post on here of someone trying to sell stud services and another person responded that Yorkie Talk doesn't allow that, so my first thought was that your sercret intention was to sell stud services. Sorry if that wasn't your intention but your post didn't seem genuine that you just wanted your dog to stop humping your leg. |
