This is what a puppymill breeder female looks like (graphic) Please take a look at this Petfinder ad that I just found. It breaks my heart to think of how many more there are just like her. This is the reason that Puppymills need to be put out of business! :( Adopt a Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie: Sasha: Petfinder |
It is really so sad. This is the rescue were we adopted Lane. :) Sasha has come quite a long way since I've been browsing the APR website. Thank goodness for the rescues who take these girls in and help them heal... I should add that she isn't up for adoption yet. They've been trying to get her skin condition under control, but she has managed to grow a little bit of fur back. |
Oh that poor girl. :( I hope that she is able to find a good home soon. It is truly heartbreaking, especially to hear the description of how much love she still has to give to someone. |
I can't look at these things but I hope and pray this girl get's a loving forever home. For the life of me I can't understand why puppymills are allowed to exist:mad: They must make lot's of $(taxes) for our government which may be why they still do exist, I answered my own question! |
OMG. These pictures slay me. I can't imagine what that poor girl has been through. If pictures like this motivate people to get involved and do something, then we really are honoring the suffering this little girl went through. :( |
That just makes me want to cry. I feel so bad for this dog. Puppymills need to be stopped! I have never and will not ever buy from a pet store. I have adopted dogs in the past...I want to make sure that I do my part to make sure that this stops! |
That picture breaks my heart; yet she's one of the lucky ones, her torture has finally ended. |
The poor baby!!! |
I hope the she finds peace and a wonderful forever home to be loved on and spoiled. This breaks my heart!!! :( |
Poor little girl! But doesn't she look so happy in the second photo, with her tongue all the way out?? :) |
That's heart wrenching. |
This is such a sad reality, and to think that I can't even squish a bug. How can people do this to living beings :( |

I am speechless. I will take down all puppy mills!!! |
That poor little girl. I have to say that she looks so much better (and happier) in the later photos. It's beyond sad what some of these babies go through. Back in the 80's, we rescued a Doberman (Caesar) from a neglectful owner. Believe it or not, he looked worse than Sasha. He was still a puppy (about 8 months old) when we got him. He was covered with red mange over 100% of his body. He had no hair and his skin was crusty flakes with pus oozing out of it. His skin had so many folds in it, he looked like a Bloodhound. He stunk to high heaven and he had ran a temp for so long that he was brain damaged. We took him to the vet who diagnosed his problem and then told us it was best to euthanize him but, if we didn't, to never bring him back to his office. We took him home and nursed him back to health. It took 2 years but we got his skin cleared up to where he grew a nice coat and he filled out enough so that the folds were gone. He didn't live a 'full' life but we had him for 9 years and he was one of the happiest, most loving dogs ever. I certainly hope Sasha finds the perfect home. Whoever gets her will be rewarded 100 times over. The capacity for love in dogs such as these is amazing and it will be the new owner that is lucky. |
Poor little girl Its amazing how much better she looks after a little love and care I hope ahe finds the great home she deserves |
Oh my gosh..what a difference between the first pic & the last. You can just see the difference in her spirit! She's in good hands now. Rescue people are earth angels!!!! |
That poor little girl. Puppy mills make me so sick!! I look forward to the day they are all shut down!!! |

Those photos are heart breaking! So many babies and almost as many sad stories of their lives. |
that is so very sad. i'm glad she seems to be doing a little better. its awful what these puppies go through just to make some greedy human a little money. its so not fair! |
 Is this a puppy mill from the Atlanta area? I'm am totally shocked by these pictures! This poor little thing. I'm so glad she's finally getting the medical attention she deserves! I hope that they find a forever home for her soon so she can get lots of love and attention. I wonder how that mill owner would feel if someone let their skin get covered in fungus and scabs?! |
I saw that the other day. That is so heartbreaking :( |
Aw this is so sad. :( Atleast she was a fortunate one and the torture has ended. Seems to look alot better in the new pictures. I hope she finds a good home. Its breaks my heart to think that she is not the only one like this. |

I'm not sure what mill she came from but the rescue is located in Atlanta. If you look at the after pictures she looks so much better. Here is a link to their website:Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption I glanced at it quickly but really know nothing about this shelter. I can say that you can tell that they have given this little girl lots of TLC to help nurse her to back to health. :) |
It is very obvious that Sasha is getting so much love and care in the shelter now. I cannot even imagine the hell she has been thru. Poor baby, I want her to have the best. |
Aww..this brought tears to my eyes. I'm so glad she is getting the right treatment now. :) I hope I live to see the day that puppy mills are eradicated. |
I don't think people realize just how bad the problem is--thanks for opening our eyes. It's not the puppies, who will go to homes of some sort (hopefully good, but who knows?) It's the dogs who are producing the puppies and who often spend their entire lives like this. |

I immediately teared up when I saw that picture! How awful! I am so happy that this particular baby was rescued and taken care of, but it makes me even sadder to think of those that go through this and are not rescued, or are put down simply because someone doesn\'t want to take the time to help them. :( |
