TeresaM | 03-11-2009 04:41 AM | Well got my boy last night and was he ever happy to see his Momma! :D
Rush hour traffic all the way home, but we made good time and Daddy had a big bowl of oatmeal ready and waiting for him when we got home. Boo and Gracie Ruth had to give him a complete going over, all he wanted to do was collapse on his bed. :p After a little bit he ate some oatmeal and then we settled in on the couch. I had made Boo a sleeping bag, but Yogi loved it from the start and has claimed it as his own, so I got it and fixed him a little nest and curled up around him. G came and slept on top of me and every time Yogi would move she'd pop her head up to watch him. awwww, big sister was keeping watch, how sweet. Boo just seemed happy to have Daddy and the "big chair" all to himself for once.:rolleyes:
I cracked some kibble and feed him the pieces while he was all snugly in his sleeping bag, a little more oatmeal and then the "dreaded syringe of poison" appeared. Dr D had sent home some liquid pain meds in a syringe and I'm finding that Yogi really hates his mouth messed with. Of course, the 5 teeth that he had pulled had nothing to do with it. DH helped to hold the 1200lb beast while I tried to get the meds into his steel trap of a mouth. It is amazing how strong and determined they can be when they do not want to do something. :D But got it in and off to bed we all go. He had a bit of a restless night, seems to be in more discomfort then G was after her spaying. But Daddy is home with him today, with strict instructions to "WATCH HIM" but you know how that can be sometimes. LOL
Thanks again for your prayers, good thoughts and support. This is the last of our planned surgeries and I am very glad to have it over with. :) |
