Who wants to go Berry Picking? 1 Attachment(s) Poor Yogi has gone to have his berries picked today. DH is like, "Berry Picking?" I say, "Yeah, they are big enough to be called nuts." :p Poor little guy was all snugly in bed with Daddy, Boo & Gracie Ruth this a.m. when Momma snuck in and brutally pulled him out from the middle of the warm comfy bed. I said, "Yogi, lets just you and I go berry picking. We'll leave everyone else home to be bored all day. Ok?" "Sure thing, Momma. I don't know what berry picking is, but I'll go with you. I wuv you Momma." Then the poor look on his face when Dr D's assistant took him away...:2omg: "What'd I do wrong, Momma? I'm sorry, don't leave me, Momma!" I had to sit in the car for several minutes to clear my eyes before I could drive on to work. Allergies, ya know, they are really bad around here this time of year. I know he'll be ok. That they'll take great care of him. But that's the first time I really feel like I've let him down. I'm glad I am the one who gets to 'rescue' him this afternoon. I'm going to spend all night cuddling and spoiling him. My poor little Yogi Bear. |
He's so cute! He won't remember who dropped him off--he'll remember you rescued him. ;) |
I was the same way when Bently and I went berry picking..... When the vet called after the surgery and Bently was awake I said I'll be right there to see him. They said no, wait a few more hours and let us watch him. Those were the longest hours of my life.... But he's ok now. But be sure and get him a cone.... I didn't make him wear it and he got a little infection.... nothing major he just had to be put on antibiotics for a few days..... but it was all my fault since I didn't make him wear the cone. Good luck and prayers are being sent you way.. John |
Aw poor little guy. He'll be fine. We put a onsie on Coco and he was fine with that. They just look so pitiful with that cone on. He will be very mushy today, very tired. By tomorrow he will be his old self. I know how you feel though, we get sad when they are like this. Oh go ahead spoil him. Sending great big hugs from Coco, Pebbles and Trixie. Get well soon baby!!:ghug: |
Don't you just hate those allergies? ;) We're sending hugs and prayers to you and Yogi. He won't ever remember who dropped him off once he gets lots of loving and treats tonight!:) |
Thanks guys for the prayers and hugs. I really didn't think I'd be that upset, but this little guy has soooo wormed his way into his Momma's heart. He's such a loving, trusting guy and to see those eyes pleading with me when they took him away just really broke my heart. Quote:

HaHa allergies! I guess my allergies will probably flare up on me on 3-20 because that is the day Dymond goes in. I love your story telling abilities you always put a smile on my face and brighten my day. Keep the stories coming! |
well good to hear that he is doing well. A little extra loving is in order. He will be so glad to see you. |
I am so glad to hear Yogi made it through with no problems! He'll back in your arms and being spoiled at home in no time! :D My allergies really acted up when I got the call Rory came through her spay a-okay. I was a little embarrassed since I was at lunch with some coworkers, but sometimes you don't know how much these things are going to bother you until you are relieved it is over. |
Forgot to add I am happy to hear that Yogi is OK!!!! |
Oh, I know how you feel. I have to have Trooper neutered too in the next couple of weeks... I'm gonna be a ball of nerves that day! I'm glad Yogi made it through. Now go spoil him with love, cuddles & treats. |

Well got my boy last night and was he ever happy to see his Momma! :D Rush hour traffic all the way home, but we made good time and Daddy had a big bowl of oatmeal ready and waiting for him when we got home. Boo and Gracie Ruth had to give him a complete going over, all he wanted to do was collapse on his bed. :p After a little bit he ate some oatmeal and then we settled in on the couch. I had made Boo a sleeping bag, but Yogi loved it from the start and has claimed it as his own, so I got it and fixed him a little nest and curled up around him. G came and slept on top of me and every time Yogi would move she'd pop her head up to watch him. awwww, big sister was keeping watch, how sweet. Boo just seemed happy to have Daddy and the "big chair" all to himself for once.:rolleyes: I cracked some kibble and feed him the pieces while he was all snugly in his sleeping bag, a little more oatmeal and then the "dreaded syringe of poison" appeared. Dr D had sent home some liquid pain meds in a syringe and I'm finding that Yogi really hates his mouth messed with. Of course, the 5 teeth that he had pulled had nothing to do with it. DH helped to hold the 1200lb beast while I tried to get the meds into his steel trap of a mouth. It is amazing how strong and determined they can be when they do not want to do something. :D But got it in and off to bed we all go. He had a bit of a restless night, seems to be in more discomfort then G was after her spaying. But Daddy is home with him today, with strict instructions to "WATCH HIM" but you know how that can be sometimes. LOL Thanks again for your prayers, good thoughts and support. This is the last of our planned surgeries and I am very glad to have it over with. :) |
Oh Teresa I am so sorry he is not feeling well. I thought that the females surgery is more invasive than the boys. I do remember Kirby getting neutered and it did take a couple of days to heal. Keep me posted.... |
