Yoshi has been found!!!! 1 Attachment(s) I am still in shocked that after almost 5 years he has been found. I was skeptical of the email i got today from the microchip company. Dear Mary Nguyen, Often people are unaware that their pet has gone missing, but luckily your beloved Yoshiko has been found! A kind individual has contacted PetLink to notify us that they have found Yoshiko. Please contact PetLink ASAP at petlink@petlink.net or at 1-877-PETLINK (738-5465) to find out how to be reunited with Yoshiko. So in shocked it took me about 2 hours to call them. And they gave me the vet's info that scanned the chip so i called him and he assure me that we are talking about Yoshi. He said a lady had found a Yorkie and bought him in and policy states they must scan for microchip which then lead them to me. He stated that Yoshi was so badly matted and infested with fleas. He also has really bad teeth. And i kept asking him question because at this point i am still not able to believe it. That after all these years he was finally found. So he gave me the number to the lady who currently has him. She is an elderly lady who loves and adores Yoshi. Even after speaking to her I am still in shock and unable to believe. I asked if they could send me a picture of him and her daughter was the one who actually found him under her car. he was scared and from the way he acts they can tell he has been traumatized from abuses. They can't have any fast movements or even pick up their daily paper without him shivering and cowering down. I am in tears right now because I had to make the hardest decision today when the elderly lady asked me if I was going to take him back. I am torn because i know she has become attached to Yoshi. This was a picture the daughter sent me tonight. She will be sending some more tomorrow. I still can't believe it. |
OMG, I am totally shocked, yet so happy to know that Yoshi is alive. I remember the agony you went through when he went missing. Poor little Yoshi, if only he could talk and tell you where he has been and what he has gone through. I'll be watching for updates, and hope everything works out ok for him. |
Wow I can't believe it either, Yoshi is found, this is awesome news! Poor Yoshi, maybe someone had him all this time & he got away or something...where was he found? |
OMG ! I just finished reading both threads & I understand the lady is attached to him BUT he's your dog & you need to get him back. It sounds like he was abused and neglected. I can't even imagine what your poor sweet baby has been through these past yrs. He needs to be home with his mommy, snuggled next to you for the rest of his sweet little life. However there could be a chance he doesn't get along with your additions since he lived with you before, in that case you may consider returning him to the lady. What worries me about allowing him to stay with the lady is that IF the person who has had him all these yrs ever sees him with the lady, they may try to steal him back from her. Then he may not be found again & suffer more neglect and abuse. |

I agree with others - please go get Yoshi...don't leave him with this lady who you do not know. See how Yoshi does when he gets back to your loving home. IF for some reason it doesn't work out, there would be options other than leaving him with someone you know nothing about. Please go get him asap . My heart is just breaking for him. He is your baby, he needs you. |
Wow!!!! And wow!!! I know you must be in shock and so very torn, but if that were my baby, I would definitely bring him home. Poor baby has been through so much the past 5 years and he needs his momma back. Prayers for you being said |

Dogs remember their families. I agree that IF for some reason Yoshi cannot live with you, it would be better for both of you to look at other options than leaving him with someone you don't know anything about. |
Oh wow...I am so happy that you found him!! I am sure you are totally in shock right now and still trying to absorb the fact that he's alive and that you've found him. This story totally had me in tears!! For some reason, Yoshi beat the odds and found his way back to you. It's pretty much a miracle!! I agree with the others. Go get him!! After all the little guy has been through...and what you've been through looking for him, he deserves to be home with you where you know he's safe and taken care of. Maximo is right...Dogs definitely remember their families!! My older guy was adopted out to me and I took him home to visit his old owner. It had been over 2 years and he remembered her and I know he wasn't just excited to see a random person because he is afraid of anyone outside his immediate family. I don't know where you live now...but maybe someone from YT will be traveling your way from Witcheta and he could hitch a ride....or a Yoshi train could be arranged. If you can't take Yoshi, hopefully you can make sure that he gets into a loving home where he will be pampered and spoiled the rest of his days. Maybe a fellow YTer, knowing Yoshi's story, would be willing to take him in. Maybe it will be with this lady....but I am sure you are going to want to see his living conditions with your own eyes first. Of course, I really hope that you go decide to take him home!! This story deserves the happy ending of you two being reunited!! |
Mary, I do hope you will find a way to get Yoshi back soon. You mentioned that the vet said his teeth are in bad shape, so he probably needs dental work soon. I don't know if the elderly woman would be willing to take care of that big expense, if she were to keep him for short or long term. There is also a risk that he may run away again. I pray that he will stay safe until he is in your hands, or those of someone who will give him the proper care and happy life that he so deserves. |
Oh thank the Lord. I have prayed for little Yoshi for so long and now a miracle has happened. I know that it would be hard to take him back from this lady but like others have said I am sure he has never forgotten you and his family. God bless you I am so happy for you. |
Amazing! Many times when we have been in Wichita I have thought about you and Yoshi. I had assumed that he had not been returned to you since you never posted. It is so sad that he has been abused. If they weren't going to love him then why did they take and keep him? Wicked people. I guess I am with other poster in hopes that you will take him back. He will remember the love he felt. Surely it would help heal his emotional wounds. Again, what a wonderful blessing. ~Joanne~ |
