He is still absolutely beautiful though. Must be so frustrating. Do these groomers speak some other unknown language and just do not understand your words?? I am glad this thread was pulled up again because I have been wanting to do Eva's hair myself and have started to but kept second guessing myself...but after reading these, no one is touching my baby. |
Is the hair between their pads suppose to be cut short ? Didn`t know if it was suppose to be cut so no hair is their or just cut even with their pads ? |
AnnRenae- I have to tell you that your baby still looks absolutely adorable! I feel for you that even after you have given EXPLICIT written directions she still just did what she felt like doing. I have been through that so many times. I really do think about trying to groom him myself but I always second guess my ability. QuickSilver posted that Thor does not have the ear hairs pulled as per vet recommendation and I was wondering what most of you do. I hate to have it pulled. I heard it prevents the ear infection but what Quicksilver wrote, "...plucking the ear hair opens up tiny wounds that can get infected..." which makes sense to me. It's super frustrating that we pay so much to have them groomed and more times than not...in my experience at least...they don't even listen to what we want. :( |

Wouldn't ya know, I was looking for this specific type of post! Being a groomer for most of my life, it is automatic for me to try to get the hair out of the eyes. I knew I needed something to get the hair out of her eyes till it grows back (KY? really!). I'll have to try that, I can't stand hair in the puppies eyes. But, it also does not go into a correct topknot yet and I couldn't figure out why. Oh well, I do know why, I'm terrible at putting it in the bands, but I'm learning.:confused: I do have a question though... After one day in the band, my two yorkies topknots get tangles. I redo them every day, but should I leave them out? I'm trying to be a good yorkie groomer, but it is much more strait forward with the poodles... |
kiki groomer shaves the hair on the nose because she doesn't want to have to deal with the eye goop . I think that's why alote of them do it. |

It may be a little harsh but............ ....... I just don't think I could pay a groomer who did exactly what I asked them NOT to do! A less than perfect job is one thing, but doing more harm than good is another. Think about it - if your hairstylist gave you a buzz cut when you requested a trim, would you pay her? I doubt it. It might send a strong message if a few very upset customers walked out without paying. You'd have to find a new groomer, but heck, you might even end up with one who listens! :cool: P.S. Hang in there, it will grow back eventually!!!!! |

I just had to respond to this even though the date was some time ago since this even freaked me out a bit. When my cousin's little newborn was brought to her room after being cleaned up, she had a little pink bow stuck to her head. My cousin (an RN by the way) was surprised when they told her it was put on with a dab of KY jelly! Evidently it dries and holds the bow in place. Whoever mentioned the 101 uses for it may be on to something! |
Yup, it works...I used KY Jelly 25 years ago to stick bows on my bald baby girl's head....I'm guilty!!;) Quote:
