I am now twittering and it sure is spreading fast across people here in Wichita...thank you!

Can you believe someone just called me on my cellphone to ask if i truly lost a dog on Twitter because there are scams on there...and i told her yes it is true so she is going to retweet my message...and she has 100 people following her and those people have hundreds of people following them...i hope he will be home soon...

Oh, I'm so glad you started twittering. I knew it could work for you that's why I suggested it. I see you're following a lot of people - good for you! If you're not follwong any pet or dog groups I suggest you do - just use the search option or find people option and do a search of "pet" and one for "dog" - I've tweeted on both my personal Twitter acct & my work one - I have a lot of followers for professional reasons

I had missed this earlier this week. I've had nothing but computer problems & work has been stressful. I know we were communicating briefly last night on the meetup thread. I didn't realize you were twittering. I guess everyone I know that twitters uses it for professional purposes mainly - so no scams

If that lady wants to help you take her up on it. Two of you could do twice the work, and working in a team is so much better than alone. She will be so happy when you find Yoshi she wont mind the work she put in she will be glad you let her help.

If I was closer I would help, we that have had an animal run away remember the sting, and pain.

Still praying for you and Yoshi to come home soon. I am so glad you are not giving up. Hang in there. So many of us are praying and rooting for you.

DITTO!! to be honest... I dont think she would have offered you help if she didnt want to ;) you need help finding him and bringing him home sooner!!! and there are people that WANT to help!!! HUGS!

Oh my goodness!! I just told my boyfriend all about this thread that I just spent the last 30 minutes reading! My thoughts and prayers are going out to you and your family and ESPECIALLY little Yoshi!! If I lived in Wichita I would be getting on my jacket to go out and search for him for as long as it took to find him!!! I'm in California though, so I'm no help :(

You're on the right track!!! Just let everyone in that whole state aware!! Post posters, and say reward (but I heard don't say an amount). You will find him! I know it!! Just keep positive and keep looking. We will definitely be praying for him out here.

If you want us to do anything to help your search, let me know!! I would be happy to help in any way I can! I'll light a candle for him tonight, and wish upon his safe return!!!!

I agree Mary - let her help. Do you remember last winter the threads about Lexy who was lost in the freezing winter in Des Moines. (Her hubby was a professional hockey player - that might sound familiar.) Anyway, I befriended Lexy's owners after their story appeared in the newspaper - and I got them to join YT. She and I became friends in the process. We made huge posters on poster board and drove around hanging them up at every intersection. We kept in touch. I still talk to her on occassion and I think she may have just had a baby. But friends do come out of hard times too.

I don't feel right taking or asking for help....that is not who i am...it is very hard for me to accept something that does not belong to me. I probably don't make sense...and i am not being stuck up either...i hope no one thinks that...but from who i am and have always been it has never been easy for me to accept even a compliment, i feel weird....and all the generous offers is wonderful but i can't find it in myself to ask...i am probably blabbing and not making sense...but i don't want anyone to feel obligated to help me...hope everyone understands

yorkiesmiles 03-06-2009 09:38 PM

I understand - I'm not good at asking for help either. But Mary - THIS IS NOT FOR YOU -- IT'S FOR YOSHI!! Let others help you for his sake!

Actually, I've made 2 friends due to lost yorkies - the one I posted about earlier. But about 6 mths before that I was hanging up posters in the grocery store about a Yorkie meetup when I saw a flier about a missing Yorkie - I called this woman up - she probably thought I was nuts because I started talking about YT. She wasn't a computer person, so I printed off all the info about How to find a lost dog that is here on YT & took it to her - it was like 10 pm & she was so grateful. Her dear yorkie was in the woods across a huge intersection & near a interstate a mile or so from her house - she even saw her dog - and it ran from her, the poor thing was so spooked. But she did end up getting her back -- and now the lady and her 2 yorkies come to our meetups.

You never know where you'll find a friend. But more importantly do this for Yoshi!!

I know its hard to ask for help too... but just look at it this way... they offered it so your not taking it from anyone ;) I know its still hard to even think about asking for help... but like yorkiesmiles said... do it for Yoshi!!! Im sooooo sorry Mary I know this is sooooooooooo hard for you... but maybe it will help you to ask for help!! and EVERYONE deserves HELP!!! jmo;)

My thought and prayers are still with you and Yoshi. I think of you often. If I lived near you I'd be there helping you too. Please accept any offers of help to bring your cutie home. There are lots of nice people out there that are really sincere. God Bless and take care of you and Yoshi!

I am just now seeing this and I am praying for you and for Yoshi's safe return!

Mary, my husband is a Police Officer and they are usually nicer to other Police officers than us regular people. If you pm me the address and phone number of the girl that called you and claimed to be pranking you, my husband will call the wichita police dept and speak with a patrol officer (they are usually nicer than desk personnel and seargents.) and ask him if he can go to the home and speak with the people. We will tell him that someone on that street called you and said that those people suddenly had a Yorkie and they think it may be yours. With a uniformed officer at their door, they may be intimidated enough to hand him over..I think that they have him and that is why you cannot find him..

I am just now reading this post...I haven't been on YT for some time. I am so very sad to hear about sweet little Yoshi!!!! I feel like I got to know him a bit when we had him him as our secret buddy. I can't even begin to imagine how you feel, but please know that you and your family are in our prayers! :hands:

dwood 03-07-2009 06:48 PM

I'm so sorry you still haven't found Yoshi. I check your threads everyday hoping for his safe return. It seems like you are getting closer!
