I saw a segment on the survivors and one lady was standing in front of her flattened apartment building crying and saying her dog was in there... I can't even imagine. I lived thro 2 hurricanes hitting us directly last year, and we thought we were devastated but it is not even close to what these people have lost. The animals I would lose in that situation would just put me over the edge with grief. I have a trailer that would take my horses out, but not all of my babies, it would just be horrendous. |
While all the images are gut wrenching, for people and animals both, I saw one on MSN last night that really, really got to me. It was a large dog sitting on the roof, with his eyes squinted up against the pouring rain, waiting oh so patiently. I don't believe he got the roof alone, perhaps his owners were rescued from the roof. I don't know, but it sure made me feel so sorry for him. I kept thinking that I wished whoever was filming him would help him. Unfortunately, a great many animals will either die due to the circumstances or be euthanized after simply because people in the area are unable to shelter themselves much less an animal :( |
thats a very touching picture..i really for sorry for all the people affected by the hurricane! |
i am so glad he made it. this is such a tragedy and my heart goes out to all of the people and animals that were affected by this. |
Poor little guy at least he is safe! |
My prayers go to all of the families and their pets. This is such a horrible tragedy. |
That is so sad! I feel so sorry for everyone who has the misfortune of being involved in this! It honestly makes me want to cry to think about them having to start over...I dont think I could. |
Thanks for sharing this touching picture. I\'m so glad he\'s alive. This event recalls me about Tsunami that happened in Thailand last year. I really sorry for all the people affected by the hurricane. |
Those pictures are heartbreaking! I feel so bad for everyone there. |
You all know that we have only seen a drop in the bucket, so to speak, of what has happened. On the news this evening they were talking about one guy that jumped off a bridge. :( |
