UPDATE.............:coffee_n_ My oldest son who was Truman's room mate when he first came from the shelter was gone helping out with his grandma while my sister's family was at Disney so he hadn't seen Truman in almost a week. He came home late yesterday so he didn't really take a good look at Truman but he just put him outside and said, "Wow mom Truman looks great! I can tell that he has been eating and even gained some weight. He's really change in the week that I was gone" coolsmile Yeah TRUMAN! :cheer::cheer::cheer: |

Truman is going for his neuter on Tuesday so he needed his bath today so that he looks and smells pretty. Just got done giving him the full spa treatment and he is now sleeping. :p Poor Truman is having a hard time seeing. He's really truckin it around the house and yard now. First off, I have to say Truman is fully housetrained. He barks, I take him out, he does potty and he's happy~even in the rain! What more could you ask for!!!:p The more he is moving around the more evident it is that he has a very hard time seeing. :( But if I'm in the yard or house near him and I call his name he will come right to me. He is doing great with the arthritis medicine he has been taking and I can tell each day he is getting less stiff. Last night he went outside potty and when he came back in he must have had an itch on his side. He was STANDING in my laundry room and decided to scratch his itch. This is from not being able to stand at all when I first brought him home from the shelter almost a month ago! He is getting very strong and gaining weight too and it shows in how he's now getting around the house and yard better. The one thing that it becoming more and more apparent is that Truman really cannot see enough to be left out of your site for long. He will bump into things and even ran into the fence when he was on a full trot trying to reach my husband in the driveway. They only problem with that is there is a fence that divides the driveway from the yard. He crashed into the fence and knocked himself silly. But I know he will learn as he begins to explore more and more. |
Oh sweet little Truman! Still looking so handsome! It sounds like he is doing as well as he possibly can be. I'm sure he'll continue to learn his way around and the bumping into things will become less frequent. :aimeeyork It's amazing what some good old TLC (and food can do). Truman scratching his itch is remarkable, especially considering how he was when you rescued him! :D |
Oh, as thrilled as I am to hear about Truman, I am equally sad to hear how bad his eyes are. I will be thinking about Truman on Tuesday as he has surgery. Preying he comes thru all his procedures well |
Truman goes for his neuter and dental in the morning. I will post tomorrow to let everyone know how he does tomorrow afternoon. :animal36 |
:hands: for you Truman, that your neuter goes well and that you have pearly whites afterwards. Sorry to hear that Truman's eyes are not as good as a young pups, but you know those of us that can't see to good have great hearing. :secret:It comes in handy alot of times. So be careful opening up those treats, he will hear you from 3 rooms away ;) |
We will be praying that everything goes well tomorrow. I'm sure he'll do great, he's one tough cookie! Sending lots of hugs and kisses Truman's way. |
:sidesplt: that 1st picture of Truman he looks like he was thinking "take one more picture of me, and see what happens." |
