| ![]() ![]() I have heard of this but never seen it... I wouldn't do it. Would you or do you know anyone who has? I think it sounds like a good way to get a ripped ear. |

| ![]() I wrote a thread about this a couple weeks ago. I saw some lady at a company picnic with her chi, and her ears were peirced! I was not impressed. I would never do such a thing. I think she only did it to her dog to get herself more attention. And yes, it could be dangerous and potentially hurt the poor pup. I felt awful for that poor little thing. I don't agree with it at all! Clothes are one thing, but putting them through pain for no reason makes no sense to me.

I personally would not do it at all. I think it's absurd. Just my opinion.

| ![]() I personally would never do such a thing to my beloved pet either! I think it is barbaric and to put your pet through something that is unnecessary for attention is a little over the edge in my opinion...

| ![]() I would never do that to any Yorkie of mine. I'd worry about health issues, but if there were no health issues, I guess I would be fine with other people doing that to their Yorkie (though I still probably wouldn't agree with it). Some people also think tail docking is barbaric and unnecessary, anyone have any thoughts on tail docking versus ear piercing? |

| ![]() I agreed Tail docking is also barbaric but is on the standard while ear piercing is not. I guess to me is not the same thing. |

| ![]() i am anti ear pircings first off can break down cartlege .. thats not spelled right and also vets will only do tail docking before day four of a puppies life due to the fact that a puppies nervouse system has yet to set up and though it still feels pain it is not Nerves that are being crushed in pain sensors when i was a kid in the country i usto see farmers who would take wire cliper and dock working dogs tail at 5 or 6 weeks i was almost as damaged at the puppies so no to doggie mutlation |

| ![]() I have seen this on TV and I thought it was cute.. I would do it if my little girl was a baby, just like newborns when they are born the doctors pierce their ears. they won't feel it as bad being little, just like when they get their tails dock.. and I would put a tiny diamond stud in her ear. I'm sure some people would get carried away and put huge studs in their ears. so i don't see what is wrong with it myself. look at the people walking around this world with body parts that are pierced... I don't think the dog would know it had stud ear rings in their ears if you do it young enough. and I don't think it's doggie abuse either.. I'm sure who ever started dressing animals people thought the same thing about seeing doggie clothes on animals. |
