I'm sorry you have to go through this. Believe it or not when I adopted a dog from the ASPCA they recommended a vet I could go to that wasn't really expensive. I was a little leary at first, but I just love him to death. He'll do anything he can to save you some money. He's more interested in the pets then the money, and if you volunteer to help out there he doesn't charge you for office visits. You may want to call the ASPCA in your area, and ask them who they use to spay and neuter. Also, I found clinics in my area that are a lot more cost efficient, but as I stated I love the vet the ASPCA recommended, and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. |
Information on how to handle Vet Bills |
I'm sorry Stormy is having such a hard time , but she is very lucky to have you taking care of her , it's obvious you love her very much !!! We are sending Stormy all our good wishes and lots of hugs :) |
You are such a good mom your dog is very lucky to have you, I hope this new vet can help, thinking of you |
I can call the shelter and see what they say but when I volunteered their several years ago I am almost positive they were using the vet I am at right now :( Perhaps they have changed, I am going to make some calls today and see what I can come up with. I am not sure about the help with vet bills, I believe you guys are only that lucky in the states, I haven't heard or seen anything here in Ontario, Canada like this. |
Paula It is perfectly fine to give a dog infant laxative drops, like walmat brand what ever, to make her go poo.She sound like she needs fiber. Also canned foo will make her go {it full of wate) Also if she get gassy, she make take infant gas drops, strore brand is fine.My vet has perscribed these to my dog. I wouls put her on science diet for gasterioral problems or senstive tummie. These are all fine for dogs I promise. |
thank you for the recommendation I am going to look into it. |
My heart goes out to you and Stormy. My little man Milkyway just passed. He apparently had major genetic anomalies which, like you, I did not know about when I got him. Needless to say, he spent a lot of time at the vets. But all of that was worth every minute I had with him. So hang tough, the only advocate little Stormy has is you! And you are doing everything you can which is beyond honorable. The love of this little one is worth fighting for. All our thoughts and prayers are behind you. Learn all you can to help her, and love her for the blessing that she is; your Stormy! |
Ahhhh....You love her very much;) Oral Aloe Vera Gel - natural laxative and it helps heal from the inside out  - My Roxy gets 1/4 teaspoon in her PM meals. It has helped her skin and GI tract and her knees. She always has good regular poops. Aloe Vera Gel by Lily Of The Desert - VitaminShoppe.com Aloe vera The ALOE VERA Miracle |

It won't happen over night, but I bet if you start to give it to Stormy that within the month or two, you'll start to see good changes in her too! ;) |
