somethings not right well it started last night Bella and I went to bed and when I woke up in the morning she wasnt in bed. I called her and shedidnt come so i went looking for her and she was on the couch shaking. So i out the heat on and took her out to go potty then i put her in her PJs. I gave her some food she didnt touch it and i had to go to class. She usually always goes to the window to look and didn't this morning.so I had a friend come by and check on her and he said she was still acting weird. She always comes to greet and didn't and she was still shaking. When i got home i noticed she ate her food and she seemed a little happy because she wags her tail every now and then. I tried giving her more food and she hasn't touched it yet. she did have a couple of treats and a cookie tho. I took her for another potty and when we came in i tried playing with her and she wasn't interested, i threw her toy and she didn't bring it back like she usually does. its got me a little upset because shes acting like she doesn't know who i am, i cannot get her to wag her tail even. This is a very weird day i just hope tomorrow is better. she is not herself at all shes so mopie and disconnected. HELP! i hate this! |
How old is she? Has she ever had a bile acids test? Have you checked her all over for pain? |

Keeping Bella in our prayers :hands: Let us know how she is doing. |
sounds like something is really wrong with her...You should have a vet look at her asap!! Please let us know how she's doing!!! |
she has never had a bile acids test and she turned 2 in october, and she was just at the vet. so i was going to see if shes ok by tommorow and if not then in she goes it was weird when i was sitting on the floor playing with her i went to touch her and she yelped so i checked her thinking she must have hurt something but then she didnt yelp again and i have been picking her up so i thought she would yelp if i picked her up sooo weird |
If she isn't recognizing you how she normally does, isn't interested in playing and has been shaking all day, I would take her in now. Even if she stops by tomorrow, something is wrong and the problem may just get covered up. Since she did yelp, I would first be concerned about her neck and spine. |
I agree with the other posters. When they start acting very much out of character and refuse food, then generally there is a problem. I am not trying to scare you, but she is at an age where liver shunt commonly shows up. Is your baby girl generally a picky eater? How much does she weigh? Does she act disorientated about 2 hours after eating and does she pace? Please don't forget to give us an update, we worry about our sick YT family members. |
I will keep her in my thoughts.. ((hugs)) |
shes picky sometimes but she usually eats good if she likes the food. so i try and change it up for her. she weighs 4.11 and when she was a puppy when i first got her she would act weird pacing and like drunk but hasnt done it in a long time shes usually good about eating. and she did eat what i gave her earlier but just not what i gave her for tonight |
With pacing or actling drunk, she really needs to be bile acids tested. If there is a problem, you may be able to bring it under control with diet and supplements. It would be much healthier for her to be on a certain protocol if there is a problem. And if there isn't a problem, great. |
I would definately get her checked out!   |
I'm so sorry that Bella isn't herself. I really hope that she's just having an off day, but I think that you should have her checked out anyways. |
I wouldn't put off taking her in for a bile acid test. When they are as small as she is, they can go down hill all too quickly. Please, keep us up on her progress. |

bella is doing a lot better today, I think she just may have been sad and missed me being gone becasue last night when we laid down she was snuggling. this morning she ate and was humping one of her toys so maybe shes back to herself she was a little shaky but thats because when i took he routside it was wet and cold so i left the heat on because its only supposed to get to 60 today |
I know it's been awhile since you posted this, but I just came across it. Has this happened again since then? I'm wondering if her blood sugar was low? Silvia has done this once. She wouldn't respond to me, didn't want to play or eat, and just stayed in one spot shivering as if she was cold. I gave her a capful of Kyro syrup and within ten minutes she was back to her old self. Anyway.........for future info! :D |
I'm glad to hear that Bella is back to herself. As another said, if she acts like that again try either NutriCal or Karo syrup. |
Poor Bella 1 Attachment(s) It sounds like the start of an infection. I'd take her to the vets. They have some real stinky wet food that dogs who have had tummy problems seem to gobble up! |
