| Does Gucci Need a Haircut? Opinions please His hair is so so wild that he looks Ginormous lol. His head is as big as mine (kay not really... but it's big) with all the hair he has. I took a photo when he was wet then one when he was dry so you can see the crazy difference. These were taken the same day I had just trimmed his hears before the bath is all There is a good 3 inch addition to his head all the way around in the dry photo . A good indicator is how HUGE his ears look in the wet pic and how small they look in the dry pic and the dry pic they aren't even trimmed yet lol. I just haven't seen too many yorkies this furry at his age (maybe they are getting haircuts ) I mean look at ALL THAT HAIR! It's crazy, we saw a yorkie at Petco and it looked so much smaller than Gucci not because it was... but because it's hair was shaved down on the body and it had a silky coat so it was flatter, where Gucci has a cottony/modified coat and it is crazy fluffy like a sheep or something. Anyhow that yorkies parents said oh he's big and I was like " Well Yorkies have lots of hair, you got one you should know this he's 5 lbs" they said "he has to be bigger" lol is said "Nope He's not it's just hair" they were looking at me like Yeah right lol.. I love his hair but I was wondering if it needs to be cut or is it always just going to be a !POOF! He looks like teenwolf lol I personally love it. However, I get so tired of people saying he looks big HE'S NOT!! he is a whole 5 lbs and 7 inches high and 7.5 long. I know it's a trivial complaint but it gets so darn annoying . When did you give the first cut? Gucci is 5.5 months Are Yorkies usually this stinkin Fluffy? his entire body is like his head about 3 inches of Poof all the way around lol, is going to flatten out later maybe? ** P.S Isn't he just a cutie though? Maybe they were just jealous cause he's so adorable ** |

| I think he looks cute as anything! I cannot really speak since Fiona will be 11 months old the end of the month, and has not had a professional groom yet, and she is wayyy over due, I used to be a grooming assistant, so i know the basics, i'm just a mom who doesnt want to cut off the last bit of her black puppy hair!!!!!! ha ha!

| lol I feel you on not wanting to cut the hair off! Gucci is turning a silvery tan on the front of his face and a trim would take most of the black around his eyes and nose off, I don't want it gone yet, he would still have the black stripe between his eyes and his body would be black as I am thinking he won't change color much since he is that cottony modified coat. I just get so darn tired of people thinking he's big because he's fluffy.. GRRRR .. I guess I really shouldn't care but it does get annoying a bit. Quote:

| If you think he looks cute like he is, then leave it! I think he's precious! He just has puppy hair..alot of people would LOVE for their dog to have that much hair. But if you want his hair short, go ahead and get it cut. Remember that he won't look like a puppy any more, lol! You can tell he's small under all that hair

| No please leave his hair!!LOL I absolutely love Gucci's look. He is so handsome. People tell me all the time that Dymond must weigh more than 4lbs7oz and tell them the same thing it is just hair. Who cares what people think he weighs you know what his weight is and people with Yorkies should know that when the hair is fluffy they look bigger. Dymond looks so tiny when she comes from the groomer when her hair is all tamed. I guess we both just have some fluff balls. Gucci is very handsome fluff and all!!!!!!!!

| He's a real Cutie Pie ! let the hair grow and it will not be so fluffy when it gets longer..the length pulls it down in time ..of course a good brushing and combing could flatten the coat some..the cottony coat looks better when long ... but he's a pup enjoy him while u can |

| Oh, he is just like my Yogi. OMD!! I can't believe how hairy he is. Teenwolf......that is sooo perfect! We are leaving Yogi's long, it doesn't mat bad, a simple brushing once a day keeps him tangle free. It is sooo soft and soooo thick. The only thing I have done at the groomers is a sani cut, and I have them shave a space from his belly to his chest to get that hair out of the way......he 'hits' himself when he pees. "Momma!! Don't say that on the internets! Geeze, now everyone knows." lol Gracie got the gorgeous color and the nasty cottony coat. We have to keep her short or it pure torture every night to comb her out. Yogi, although his color will be stunning, could have looked just as cute in a puppy cut for the rest of his life. sigh...why is it the boys always seem to get the long eyelashes and beautiful thick hair. And why are you wasting time worrying about what strangers think of your boy. He is stunning and they just need to get over themselves. We've called Yogi our 'mutant' Yorkie from day one, because of how huge he looked with all his hair. But we love him and he loves us, and that's all that is important. You love Gucci, just let what other people say roll right off your back. Maybe we should start a teenwolf support club. Here's our 'teenwolf'. We've been trying to get him use to the top knots, but he's resisting. lol

| No, no, no!! Don't cut his hair! He's perfect just the way he is. I think he's absolutely adorable. His hair will tame down some when he gets older so enjoy his puppyhood while you can. Sending Gucci hugs & kisses.

| My first Yorkie Chipper had the same type of hair as your Gucci. I use to keep him in a puppy cut until the day he passed at 13 years. Through his whole live everybody thought he was a puppy and couldn't believe it when I told them he was a senior dog. When I first got him I thought if I let his hair grow a little longer it would start to lay flat. Never happened. It would just keep growing outwards until he looked like a hugh cotton ball. My Piper has entirely different hair. It is soft and silky and lays perfectly straight. She is now 9 months and I was growing her hair long but last month she had to have hip surgery and the vet shaved the back quarter of her body. The month before that she was spayed and had her belly shaved. Poor Piper looked like she was hit by a lawn mower. Last week I had her groomed in a puppy cut hoping to even out her hair. I hate it on her. She looks naked. She is delicate and fragile looking and leggier than my other Yorkie and the puppy cut does not look good on her.
