Hello, its been a while! Im sorry it’s been a while; I've just been soooo busy! A lot has happened since the last time I posted! Daisy had her first hair cut, OMG she did not look like the same dog when they were done with her, needless to say I won’t be taking her there again! She is such a good puppy; I honestly don’t know what I would do without her. I tell my BF all the time she was the best Christmas gift anyone could ask for. She is such a daddy's girl, it’s so cute! But she'll follow me around all the time and my chest is her favorite bed, lol. I've noticed she's been biting a lot lately, I just don’t know how to get her to stop. Everyone tells me she will grow out of it; she's a puppy that’s what they do. (She’s almost 4 months old) But I don’t want her to continue doing it. I tell her no, she listens for a whole second and goes right back to doing it. She hates when I brush her!! I have a wire brush and a comb. I don’t even have to touch her with one of them before she starts crying. I feel so bad for her, but she needs it done. She won’t let me near her belly and it’s very matted. I have no idea what to do. The bf told me to shave it but she'll look so funny with a shaved belly. Any suggestions?? The rest of her is fine it’s just the belly! I think I got very lucky when it came to potty training Daisy. From day one she did very well. We made sure we took her to her pee-pads every 20 mins or so. There were a few problems at first, but she is pretty much trained now. It’s been about 3 weeks without an accident, and I heard if they go 4 weeks they are considered "fully trained", if that’s true ive got one more to go. I could go on and on about how wonderful she is and how happy I am to have her,:D but I have to get back to work. Just wanted to check in say hello and maybe get a few ideas on the biting and brushing problem Im having. Thanks again Daisy and Desaree |
1 Attachment(s) Hi! Gracie's belly gets rats real bad too, so I just keep her tummy shaved and her chest clipped short. It's not really visible and it saves us both a lot of grief during grooming. Gracie just had her first professional cut and I was so very luck to have a great groomer recommended to us. It was a great experience for G and she got a great cut. G is soooo happy I found this place and that she doesn't have to wear the horrible home cuts that I give her any longer. :D As for the biting, yeah, she probably will out grow it. Tell her no, push her away, ignore her until she'll play nice, offer her a toy to chew instead. Just stay after her to not bite you. Here, let me show off her cute new style yet again. |
Hello Daisy and Desaree!....All I can say about the brushing is to try and do a couple of strokes at a time and maybe give a treat like a tiny piece of simmered chicken when she's done....I like using a Pin brush and a Slicker brush for working out the stubborn ones....I found this product at Walmart ( also at Walgreens) for about five dollars and I just spray it on and it loosens the mats up wonderfully! Sometimes if the mat is a tough one I used to take a pair of thinning scissors and I would cut into the mat starting at the bottom towards the sin (careful not to snip the skin) then I would work it out with the spray and the brush. It worked better than cutting out a mat and leaving a bald spot. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...tony-coat.html Good luck and welcome back! |
Thanks, Im going to run to Walmart after work today. I cant believe that will work on my pups hair. Quote:
