				 | one spoiled yorkie with a toy poodle, HELP I may get an adorable toy poodle tomorrow and I was just wondering how they would react? The little man is 4 months old and the lady who owns him said i can have him for free because it means more to her that she knows he will be well taken care of because of the way gizzie is treated like a baby. She just lost her job and cannot afford to keep the little booh bah and is offering me the dog for free Im just worried about how Gizzie would react because she has had the run of the house since we got her 2 years ago! i;ve never had more than one dog at a time so I dont know if I should accept or not. it would give Giz someone to play with and I would treat him just like my own child. just wondering if Gizzie will get jealous? any advice??? I know nothing about the breed so Im trying to do research tonight but It would get the best of everything just like Gizzie but she is my first priority at the moment. help!!! he is yet to receive proper vet care and I'm willing to do all that and treat him anyone have experience in having the two breeds?

				 | be careful. toy poodles want to be the center of attention, and your yorkie will not let that happen. I would watch them toguether for at least an hour before making that decision.

| Senior Yorkie Talker | my boyfriend's parents have 2 toy poodles and they do tend to be very selfish (not to be mean, its just what Iv observed!) and do want a LOT of attention. But I have a feeling it will be your yorkie that may feel left out and jealous since it is HIS house and having a new dog who also needs a lot of attention may cause some conflict at the beginning but with a little time im sure they will be great friends! besides, they will both have a new friend to play with! Id say go for it, poodles are VERY smart little dogs!

the best food(no offense to those who feed certain brands) I fed a certain brand that was probably not the best before I knew any better. but it was an accidental pregnancy and she has puppies she doesn't know how to take the best care of(at least the way most of us do) I could afford vet care and proper nutrition for the puppy and have it fixed and groomed (poor thing has leaves and trash stuck in it's beautiful coat I dont feel it's abused per SE but for her to approach me and ask me specifically to take her puppy meant a lot for me, at least she is not selling it to a puppy mill, she really wants the dog to be taken care of and she said, no one I know would take better care of "curly", Im changing the name I will start a new thead about that later! If I decide to take him. such short notice! she really means well because at 4 months the baby needs to go to the vet...Ugh Im so torn!

				 | any website you guys would suggest to get the best info and on the breed as far as temperament and possible health problems? Ive been googling but I don't know what to trust AKC maybe? This dog does not have papers or anything, which I don't care about anyway I just want a happy healthy dog to be a playmate for princess Gizzie Never even thought about another dog til now...

				 | I had Lucy since she was 4 months old & when she was 4 years old I got Pebbles. Peb's was 9 months & is mixed yorkie/doxie. When I bought Peb's home, she came in wanting to be the boss. Lucy didn't like any of us for about the 1st week or so. That was back in July. Now they have so much fun together, it's a blast for them to be able to play all the time. Peb's still tries to be the boss & Lucy lets her up to a point. It takes time for them to get used to each other and it can work out.....good luck.

				 | thanks for the advice! I think I may go for it!! I am going to start another thread for names yaaaah!! Gizzie is getting a brother!! I'm going to her house tomorrow with Gizzie just to see how they act together before I say yes or no. I know though that sweet little face will melt my heart...ugh I am way to sensitive! The thought of that precious baby being fed canned grocery store food and left outside most of the day just gets to me! Again no offense to any type of food, I used to feed royal canin and thought it was the best until I found something better for Gizzie, that doesnt mean its a bad food it just made her eyes water so I switched to Wellness adn Im currently feeding innova. Some babies do fine with RC I think my baby just had some allergies to some of the ingredients, and also no offensive to outside dogs, we had a black lab growing up that loved to be outside as much as possile, we had to drag him when it was too cold out thanks guys for your advice! Im going to start a thread in the off topic thread so come help me with some names please!!

				 | Oh yeah, I can't imagine anyone being upset that you want to feed your dogs something better then what the Poodle is eating now. When I got Pebbles, the other people was feeding her REAL BAD (imo) food. As soon as I got Pebbles home, she never took another bit of that food again!! I knew she would have alittle stool adjusting, but it wasn't normal anyway.

				 | thanks everyone! i spent weeks studying up on the Yorkie breed before I got gizzie and know I have one day to decide if a toy poodle is right for me and Gizzie! I need all the help I can get! thanks lucyaboo for the links, I read everyone and they have a lot of simulartites to yorkies as far an wanting to be the center of attention and being somewhat of a barker but they are also loyal and very smart dogs! I would wait a week or so but since I have tomorrow off I thought it would be a good day to go out there and see how Giz and the puppy get along and I will have the time to take it to the vet and to petsmart to get some new threads and toys ahhh so much to so! Im also scared someone else will get it, after all how often is a free toy poodle available? I want to get him the vet care it needs asap! She sold the rest of the litter but wants me to have this little guy

Ive had my toy poodle for 2 years and when we got Tucker she was just fine. Matter of fact, my toy poodle was very needy and thats now changed since Tuck's been in the house, she loves him to pieces, they sleep together, eat together and when tuck is away from the house without her she looks for him. I would introduce them slowly and see what happens, you may be surprised and your yorkie may love that he/she now as new playmate.
