Wow, glad to hear I am not the only one that is going to take extreme measures :p And yeah, even though I do want to get steps as well, it will still not help him when he accidentally falls off while he is sleeping (like what happened the other night).

I possibly can "top" cutting the legs off a king bed for the Yorkie. We just bought a travel trailer so we don't have to leave JoJo when we go out of town. My idea of camping before was a nice hotel. We'll see what kind of campers we are soon. At least, we will have our little buddy with us.

Our travel trailer will be known as JoJo's dog house. Maybe, he will share with us if we promise to hold him when he is napping. Is there any limit to what we will do for our precious babies?

Ha ha!! Yes, that definitely tops cutting the bed :p:p . I love it! JoJo is a very lucky little man, getting a trailer all to himself. I can just see him bragging about it to his little doggie friends, "Yeah, it's mine. If my humans are nice I might let them come in". Sooo cute!

And no, if there is a limit to what we will do for our babies, I certainly haven't found it. It was over for me the moment I laid eyes on them :p

not to be rude but, I think that is really sad that people do this much for their yorkies. I love my yorkie more than anything but I would never cut my bed or put my mattress on the floor for him. I wouldn't do that for my kids!

I don't want to start fights but don't any of you think this is a little extreme?

Well I don't really see how it is sad :confused: I would do anything for my babies. I can understand not wanting to, but for me it is so minor compared to what they bring to my life. And yes, maybe it is extreme, but too me they are worth it.

naaaah i do not think so....i think YTers are on the one end of the spectrum where some people might think we are a little crazy but for me personally, i think the opposite end of the spectrum where people leave their dogs outside all the time (rain, shine, summer or winter), or chained up all the time, is crazy ;) :D

I understand what you are saying. My initial thought was if it isn't safe for your dog, don't put him up there. Our bed is also very high and we would never allow her to sleep with us because of this -- and we have soft cushy carpet!

We are definitely crazy about our yorkie and she is as spoiled as can be... but we are the alpha dog in this house.

I am guilty as charge when being owned by my Yorkie.. from the day I got him my bed was just a mattress on the floor and now an upgrade to a low enough platform bed on top of carpet so he can jump up and down without hurting himself. Some may think I am crazy but I also had that sick fear of him falling and getting hurt. Especially when he jumped from my friends hands only a foot off the ground and broke his leg :( I def think it is safer and I think low beds a romantic :)
