Well, don't know if her questions were just out of curiosity or what (really don't like the comment from her about "yorkie pups being worth a fortune"; sounds like a gold-digger to me), BUT even if she didn't have any ill intentions, she had no right to just enter your yard like that! All her questions could have been asked & answered from the other side of the fence.

Well i think i would have been scared too if this happend. You hear so many stories about dogs being kidnapped that its even not safe to leave them in your own yard no more. For her to walk in to your garden was really out of order and i do think the price question was a little rude but maybe she was just wondering, but the fact of the matter is not to trust anyone when it comes to your babies you always have to be on your guard. You did the right thing hunni for you to feel unconfortable around this woman aint nice and even tho the lady might have only been wondering its still scary. its sad the ones who do steal yorkies have got us this way where we are worried and scared and that makes us over protective. I hope ur ok now hun ~big hugs~ xxx

Hey Claire, you better watch out for that lady,she might have been interested in Twinkle,,but watch thos two cutie skinkids Mia and Lucia they are pretty cute too. I would be very leary of her at all times.

Wow that is scary!

Put a lock on you gate and make sure your little one is NEVER alone in the backyard. She is probably just a weirdo ,but you never know...

What a scary situation. I don't like strangers "invading my space". I see one of two senarios here.

1) The woman is perfectly innocent, maybe a bit brash and ignorant -

2) She is casing your place and Twinkle, maybe she has been watching you for some time without you knowing it.

I would be very careful to lock your doors and not let Twinkle out of your sight. Also, it would be prudent to contact the local constable and inform him of this "suspicious" person trespassing in your garden.

Hi everyone, I'm pleased most of you feel I'm not overreacting to this situation:)Of course she could have been perfectly innocent and simply interested in yorkies - but the way she approached me by letting herself into MY garden, and then telling me to 'shut my door quick' before her dog came into MY house made me really angry. I'm usually very trusting of people but something about this woman just didnt feel right xxx xxx

If she had stayed outside the gate and just asked her random questions and blah blah blah then whatever fine. But she came onto your property uninvited. that would have immediately warranted the "get off" response in my house. I'm a pretty trusting person but I have boundaries which apparently this lady didn't. I think you did the right thing. I wouldn't worry about her walking by a second time, she could just live that direction. but if she starts like loitering around then i'd get nervous. :( Hope she stays away from you and your baby.

:thumbup::thumbup: Good job, Mom!! It's always wise to listen to that "inner voice" .... I have done it all my life and never been sorry! My Patrick says it's scarry! :) It's always better to be safe than sorry.

Wow, the fact that she came into your garden! I would have said, um excuse me, what are you doing? And then she said close your door quick! Thats so weird. I would have ran, QUICK!

I agree- the questions sound innocent enough, although rude, but the feeling you got from her speaks 1000 words. LISTEN TO YOUR INSTINCTS!!!!!

yes but you werent there and although the questions may have possibly just been out of curiousity(i dont think so tho) sometimes your gut feeling is what you need to listen to and if this lady put off a weird vibe to me, i would have done the same thing. You cant be too careful when it comes to you baby,im sure you agree

wow..awfully cheeky in my opinion..I would have felt uneasy too..if something just doesn't feel right..it usually isnt.;)

I had a strange woman approach me once about a year ago when I was shopping in the little cotswold town of Burford near where we live. My hubby had gone inside a bakers to grab something to eat and I was waiting outside holding little Pixie in my arms. This woman spotted me and made a beeline for us..she had a larger yorkie bitch with her too, she was asking all sorts of questions like where did I get her from? how much did I pay for her? where did she sleep at night?..did my hubby buy her for me? she even asked where I lived..which set alarm bells ringing...she just bombarded me..which I find uncomfortable and embarassing:eek: she also asked to hold her and I politely said no because she was a wriggler and wasn't too happy about strangers holding her..which is true. Even when this lady had walked away from me she was still staring at us!
I find its best to trust your instincts and not be too trusting of strangers.
