Clothes that wont break the bank I want to get a couple more sweaters, a hoodie and maybe a jacket etc for Chanel but I find that doggy clothes are quite expensive. There's an adorable angora sweater I love but 45 bucks? Can anyone recommend any good websites/stores (I'm in Chicago) to buy clothes for my baby that wont break my bank. How many of you make your own yorkie clothes? |
Both Target and Walmart carry cute dog clothes. I love the simply dog sweaters...and they are price very inexpensively. |
I've had Joey for two years, and the clothes at Walmart have changed big time since I first got him. They have some really cute things, and prices are around 7 dollars, the bad news is that you have to look often every couple of weeks because their inventory changes so much. Target has really nice things as well, but they recently changed their sizing and it's harder to find things that fit Joey. Both stores also carry things online, but the selection is limited, and I always find more in the stores. We also have many Yorkietalk vendors who sell things in all different price ranges, as well as make custom clothing. Here's a link to Vendors' store sites: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ore-sites.html |
crabby cute! http://www.pawpalaceonline.com/images/ChesapeakeS.jpgLOOK AT THIS CUTE SWEATER!!!!!! |
I would say try Walmart...I've gotten Duke a few good coats at Walmart for less than $10. Sometimes Petsmart will have sales on their items as well. Oh also, try 5 and below if you have one of those near you. |
Try PetEdge.com Wholesale prices on exclusive dog grooming and pet supplies, they have very inexpensive clothes. |
You can also find sme really cute stuff on Ebay at resonable prices too. ~Kathy:animal-pa |
Petco is having their year end clearance. Dog Fall Apparel I was there yesterday and they had a huge rack of spring clothes. Since I was with the hubby so I didn't even dare to really look. I do plan on going back during the week.;) They just sent a coupon for 10% off that I think I can use as well. Walmart is also a great place to look but the one by me is always so picked over. |
Wow thanks, there's so much to look at. I don't have a walmart close to me as I live in Chicago (Wal-marts are in the suburbs) but I might have to make a trip one day to see what they have) |

I know what you mean, I found some really cute things that I wanted but $70.00 and up for each sweater for each dog ! x2 =:eek: I checked out the petedge link before and they had really low prices and some cute things. The Target around here has a couple cute things each time , but it's a hit or miss most times with sizing. . |

I got two of her sweaters at Petsmart on Narragansett (sp). There's a target right there too, I'm going to have to check out the pet section next time I'm there. There's a Petco close to me too, in Norridge. |
Petco is running a Spring and Fall sale 3 for 9.99 or 1 for 3.33. There is always new stuff coming in once a week ..:D Even though I don't have my yorkie yet I keep eyeing the cloth rack. you can beat beat 3.33 Kat |
try petedge.com they are a wholesale that public can buy from and you also will see that a lot of the higher end boutiques also purchase some items from here. I live in East chicago which is about 20min from downtown chicago! |
There are TONS of cute clothes that are good quality that are not $45 or $70. I'm not a fan of the big-box store clothes - I prefer clothes that fit right and don't fall apart in the wash. :) Check out Gooby, Doggie Design, I See Spot.. (all retail around $20-25 for hoodies, tanks, sweaters) Gosh even some of the most darling stuff from Cha Cha Couture and Ruff Ruff Couture is under $40. Ruff Ruff & Meow tanks are cute. DogChewz NYC makes awesome clothes. Puppia/Pinkaholic also has some cute stuff. Pet Edge is hit or miss. The only thing I've gotten from there that was OK were their solid basic hoodies. The quality is cheap (they pill after a couple washes and they are thin) but at least they are cut properly. The dresses and T-shirts are thin and cheapy and you have to spend over $60. I've seen all of this stuff at the trade shows and there is a distinct difference between the $10 items and the $20 items. Loki has 3 Gooby fleece hoodies that he wears almost daily in the winter and I wash them weekly and they still look great even into their second winter. They were $22 each. Sam has two I See Spot shirts she wears constantly and they wash up like new. They were all of $18. I See Spot even has an "outlet" on their website. AND they are MADE IN THE USA!!! So is Ruff Ruff Couture, Dog Chewz NYC, Ruff Ruff and Meow... You can go to any of those designer's websites and look for their store locator to see what local stores carry them. Off the top of my head I can think of Parker's Pets and Dog-A-Holics downtown. There are tons of shops out in the suburbs - almost every city has one. Happy Shopping! |

dogdug.com very inexpensive...and good product. I have several items from them. |
I'm the wrong person to ask because I buy Jayla the cute clothes and break the bank. I just ordered four things from Dog Clothes, Dog Carriers, Dog Collars, Dog Beds | DoggieVogue.com They were a bit less than most of the other boutique websites and have a flat fee for shipping. Look at this harness with blue angel wings: Blue Angel Wing Dog Harness They even feature a Yorkie model! Who can resist this? |
I know I'll be doing some shopping with all these great suggestions. |
Premie BABY TOPS/COATS fit most yorkies!!! The pet clothiers will hate me, but I buy PREMIE BABY shirts, tops, sweaters, hoodies at Walmart for $1.50 - $2.50 on clearance!!! :coolsmile I discovered this in desperation when my Little Man was diagnosed with Red Mange and needed to be kept warm - and we needed to have him covered to keep the horrible smelling dandruff from the mange from getting all over us and the house. (see my wordy blog under Mange - and I welcome any comments on Red Mange and the horrible smell!!) |
I make some clothes myself and buy some. I buy fleece that are on sale and make pajama and four-legged long sleeve snowsuit for Pao. When I didn't have a sewing machine, I just hand sewn them. When it gets really cold, I just put the snowsuit on him and then the winter coat on him so he has double layer of warmth. The money that I saved from making my own clothes can then be used to buy stuffs that I am not able to make for him like sweaters. |
I just recently ordered from a fellow yorkie talk member altigger74. I ordered 2 pair of heavy fleece jammies (they'll be used as clothing as it's very cold winters here). VERY reasonably priced and VERY well made. I received them today and they are very very nice. I will post pictures later today. I will definitely be order more:thumbup::thumbup::D |

I also have bought preemie clothing for 2 of my Yorkies. They fit Yumi Yasha ( 4 pounds 4 ounces) perfect, but Jeter( 2 pounds 12 ounces) is still too tiny for them to fit right, so I have to take them in;) I get Axl (8 pounds 8 ounces) 0 to 3 months size or newborn if they have it and they fit him good. I also get the teddy bear sweaters at Pat Catans and I make sock sweaters for Jeter. The only thing that I have bought that was real doggie clothing are their PJ'S because they have the opining so they can go potty. I am getting a sewing machine soon and can't wait to make my pups new clothing! |
Ebay Ebay Ebay. times are rough and spending more than $30 on a dress or shirt is insane to me. I've also used petedge, for petco I would recommend you visit the store instead of the site.:D:animal-pa |
I recommend barkindogclothes.com, I've ordered from there twice and the prices are really reasonable. Also, Jazzie Inspawrations has very pretty dresses for reasonable prices. Hope that helps. |
