Donating YT 3000 Club Member | ![]() There should'nt be a problem at all. You can even go to a shelter & find a cat that's already been declawed if your really worried. Please Adopt There are WAY to many Cat's & kitten's in shelters. |

| ![]() I have three dogs and a cat and they all get along really well. I think it helps if you get a kitten that is outgoing. Everyone gets along great and they often play together.

i am just a little worried because my fiance said that when he was little, his neighbor's cat's claw got stuck in the dog's eye...and pulled it out... (sorry ![]() i know this must be an extremely rare case. but i am really worried about the possibility of that.

| ![]() I would not ever get another cat while I have a yorkie. Chewy and Sadie drive my older cat Oliver crazy... they love to chase him. they don't fight but the chase and bark and Oliver spends a lot of his time on chairs and places where the dogs can't reach. It's crazy because he is so much bigger but he runs away and they love it because then the chase is on. We spend a lot of time trying to get the dogs to leave my poor cat alone. ![]()

| ![]() I gave one of Lolas puppies to Toni my next door neighbor and they have 3 cats a Yorkie and a Sheppard. Pepper the puppy 19 weeks loves to sleep with the cats. They do fine. I would get a kitten. My daughter has a Hairless Cat named ZaZa. That cat plays with all 3 of my Yorkies very well. It was a kitten when she got it.... |

| ![]() My cat is 13 and would be quite happy to be friends with Molly. Molly will be good most of the time, but then will suddenly decide to chase Mitzi. Mitzi has learnt to walk past Molly very slowly with her tail in the air and an aloof look about her...that works much better than running which just makes molly run after her! |

| ![]() I have a ten year old male cat and we added a 3 month old Yorkie to the mix in September. They get along very well now, at the beginning Sophie (the Yorkie) used to annoy Avery (the cat), it took some boundary setting by the cat but now they seem to be okay. Avery has his claws and I think he may have batted Miss Sophie a few times but never any claws out bats (no cuts on the puppy). Now Avery will let Sophie lick his head and clean his ears(which makes me kind of weazie). We were gone over Christmas for 5 days and when we got home Avery and Sophie had a little reunion, it was cute. When I want Sophie to come inside from a walk I will say "let's go see our kitty" that gets her in the house. As the poster stated I would get a kitten so they can grow up together. I just got lucky because Avery is so laid back. I love my critter kids.

| ![]() Most shelter cats are mixed breeds. I don't think I've ever seen a purebred cat at a shelter. Most are just called domestic shorthair.

I just wanted to add That we just got an Adult cat Who has not been Near small animals or dogs & she is better with my boys then my cat now. & she has been very good with the Guinea pig's. A kitten is a great idea but if your dog is Laid back a adult cat is Great.
